    I have a Pixel 9 and I'm happy with it. I use the Google ecosystem a lot, so I definitely wanted Android. In everyday life, you don't feel that the chip is weaker, its operation is fast and fluid. I don't play games on it.
    (It was Xiaomi before, but I don't like their update policy. Many times there was no security update for 7-9 months.)

    S24 is like 200€ cheaper than pixel 9 currently and about 400€ cheaper than iPhone 16 in Germany. One can buy S24 ultra for the price of iPhone 16

    • @michaelcorcoran8768
      @michaelcorcoran8768 Месяц назад +1

      I mean if you're only counting the discounted rate but that's kind of ridiculous. Pixels actually get discounted heavily and their price drops faster which is good if you're a buyer and not good if you're a seller. S24 has a better chipset though for sure but they're going to lose that advantage next year because ironically Google is ditching Samsung foundry and using TSMC to make their chips. Meanwhile Samsung is ditching TSMC and relying more on their own foundry and mediatek

    • @chien.nguyen.
      @chien.nguyen. Месяц назад

      @@michaelcorcoran8768 Changing the foundry doesn't have much of an impact because Google's chip itself is a custom version based on the Exynos chip.

      With the Galaxy S25, Samsung will again copy the iPhone, as happened with the Galaxy S24. Samsung has problems with the production of the Exynos 2500 processor, which it seems that it will abandon. And for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, the production costs are very high, $240 a piece. I seem to see Samsung's Galaxy S25 series as coming with Mediatek processors, which will be a commercial failure.

      That's nice and all, but now look up where you can get Snapdragon. The biggest markets for Samsung don't even get that version. • @b_punpun
      @b_punpun Месяц назад

      @@DaffyTheDuck42029 I was asking if it was known that older Pixel aren't getting the same feature set as the newest. I know that some AI features from Pixel 9 are not yet available on the previous ones, but they aren't officially available in the EU either. I've tried them nontherles and they aren't worth it. Yet. So time will tell. What I know is that S23 didn't get Ultra HDR photos feature built in, mind you, in the Android 14. Pixel 6a did get that, a newer "flagship" did not, because Samsung does not care. After a year you do not own flagship in their eyes.
      I've grown tired of manufacturers lackluster support, reading Indian support forums if my Realme is getting the update at all, and when. And then waiting another few months after the initial date for the OTA in my region, and reporting bugs that are still present.
      Unfortunately you buy the OS as well as the hardware. You cannot pick and choose if you want Windows or Linux and what distro. There are custom ROMs, but not for the US Samsung. Pixel is the go to for any custom ROMs developers. But I don't need them, my phone feels like it doesn't need any change. Skin looks beautiful with all the colors from Material You baked into the system, feature underutilized by anyone else. Animations are fluid like butter, apps are opening instantly and aren't killed in the background. I've used my friends Flip 6, and apps are indeed opening even faster, but that's just milliseconds. I don't care. What I cannot stand is the Samsung UI. For me, it's uninspired, bland and cartoonish.
      I'll get frame drops in genshin impact or Diablo Immortal? I don't care, I don't play games on my phone. For a Snapdragon I'll need to buy S24 Ultra because EU gets the worse CPUs for the increased price because f us I guess? For me there are only two manufacturers in the Android space, Google and Samsung because of their 7 years of promised support. Samsung is disqualified for the reasons I just mentioned. I would love to see better alternatives than Google but there are not many with the bloat free android and good experience. Nothing phons come close, but again, their design, while interesting, is extremely childish for a daily driver.

    We both prefer iPhone photos in most cases, like 19/20 photos. Videos were not comparison. S24 at night while moving had this shake effect on the steps while the iPhone video was super stable.
    iPhone photos were more true to live although a bit warmer. S24 was cooler temp than reality but had other issues, less details, etc.
    Only in 10x is where it was pretty close between them and we spotted places where S24 was better and others where the iphone was better.

    Both Apple and Samsung, along with Google- which often mirrors Apple’s designs-are increasingly falling behind in quality. Their latest products lack standout features. Apple's "Natural Color" branding has resulted in dull, less vibrant images, while Samsung offers brighter colors but often exaggerates color intensity. Additionally, Samsung seems to be imitating Apple by using similar materials and reducing packaging contents.
    New competitors are emerging, with Google being a key player, and we can expect them to improve further. As users share high-quality photos and videos from these newer smartphones on social media, we may see a shift in consumer preferences away from Apple and Samsung.
    Apple's advanced image processing still makes its products popular on social media, impressing many users. However, many remain unaware that other brands also offer excellent photography capabilities. When viewed on high-resolution screens like 4K, the differences between these devices become more apparent.
    Once seen as innovative leaders, Apple and Samsung now seem to rely more on marketing than on delivering exciting new features that enhance our daily lives.

    Regarding the S24 and iPhone 16, smartphone for smartphone, the S24 is clearly a better smartphone, even the S23 it's actually a better smartphone than the iPhone 16, so the S24 🤷🏽‍♂️
    The real problem of choosing between a Galaxy (Android) or an iPhone is iOS or Android and above all, where you live (North America, Japan, Cyprus...) where because of iMessage, FaceTime, and social pressure / status symbol, using an iPhone is almost mandatory.

    Look again Mo. The Pixel display is oversaturated. That's very clear: the sea is too dark and the mountains too red. The Samsung is too light. Only the iPhone is showing correct colours and if I'm not mistaken Apple made point in the iphone 15 keynote to mention their displays are accurate SRGB displays.
    It may be 60hz but Apple has always prized accurate displays on all their products because in the past they were used by Publishers who needed an accurate display to see how the finished magazine would look. They also have many pro photographers and videographers who use Mac and iPhone who rely on colour accuracy.
    Even the LCD panels on iphone and iPad of the past were colour accurate and of the highest quality panels. That's why they took their time moving to OLED: the LCD was brilliant and didn't give people headaches like OLED does.

People don't buy top of the line Samsungs and Pixels, in fact if you fact check your own incorrect statement, the most sold Samsung phones are A line, mainly A15 and A55, while the most sold Pixels are also the A series. It's the budget phones that rule the sales, because people have finally figured out they don't need thousand dollar bricks in their pockets, because a third of the price device still gets you by just fine.
