This is very interesting and something i would never have considered. I'm post menopausal and it's been very difficult losing any weight and getting quality sleep. The whole 'calories in calories out' doesn't work anymore and it's frustrating when (mostly) guys tell me i just need to eat less and move more, not believing that a) i am already doing that, and b) there are other factors
My whole life I never really had a circadian rhythm, no matter what I try. Light timing, melatonin, no caffeine, etc., it would never work. However, this year I tried carnivore for New Years to lose weight and within a couple weeks, I was waking up a few minutes before my alarm everyday. Fantastic secondary benefit. Moreover, caffeine anytime, watching TV before bed, whatever, I still get get tired and wake up on time. Even with the seasonal time changes which used to destroy me. Still going 5 months in and I'm down 40 lbs. I've actually put on 10lbs of lean mass not even starting gym work (my exercise has been building a big garden on the weekends.)
I couldn't do this because I have a circadian sleep disorder called N24. Being no day/night is the same. One day can start at 0:100am another 18:00pm . To many this is crazy yet it's just normal for me. Breakfast always (at what time, when I wake up to start my day).
There’s an old adage that one needs to work up a good appetite and you don’t work up a good appetite by sleeping all night and then getting up and thinking you need to eat. Appetite precedes work only in the dictionary - not in real life.
I can’t even smell food, in the mornings - let alone eat. Sometimes, I can eat fruit; though, I am missing the majority of my stomach, and anemic - so, I can get super sleepy, after I eat; especially, in the mornings. However, if I don’t force myself to eat, at times - I’ll get sleepy, also. It’s rather frustrating. Also, often, I’ve gotta smoke cannabis, to help trigger hunger - otherwise, I could go a long while, without eating. Yes, I know fasting is good, though, I deal with severe adrenal and hormonal issue. So, if I fast too long - my progesterone drops, cortisol rises, and can mess up things, for me. This is why I can’t do 100% carnivore, either. Though, because I have a limited appetite, and stomach size - eating carnivore makes me even less hungry, and I often don’t eat enough calories and nutrients. I’m working on figuring all this out, though, as I stated - it can get frustrating. Especially, because these difficulties are due to bariatric surgeries, and major complications - all from what was undiagnosed life-long Cushing’s Syndrome. I didn’t need bariatric surgery, in order to lose weight. I needed to have my hormones freakin’ properly regulated - and to have not grown up in a family, which, has diagnosed narcissistic personality disorder, while being undiagnosed neurodivergent, as well.
Circadian Biology/Quantem Biology, Dr Jack kruse, Sara Pugh, Sarah Kleiner: eat local, eat seasonal, eat an early breakfast with the sun for best leptin signaling. But I’m working well before sunrise and maintaining an eating window approximately 9am to 4pm. Best I can do and my stomach prefers the quiet time before first meal.
Was it a research? What method did they use? How could they come up with the conclusion? What I can deduce from your talk is that people who had problems with sleeping usually irregularly eat in the morning, which made them fat. Other people who eat or not eat regularly did not get fat. Am I correct?
I eat when I'm hungry. And it's made my fat go down and muscle go up, of course paired with training. We overcomplicate things. If I'm hungry in the morning, I have breakfast. If not, I dont. We make it so much harder than it needs to be
Interesting but difficult to find so much different visions, myself almost 70 daily routine, wake up 08.00 walk the dog before breakfast, eat lunch at 13.00 eat dinner at 18.00, snack raw nuts eat all fresh foods, no sugar added, grean tee, black coffee, rarely alcohol a glass red wine once in a while, bad sleep quality wake up same time each night, have Hashimoto, maligne white bloodcells, chronic inflammation. Think in the chronic inflammation the cause of all bad sleep and autoimmune disease come from, also food sensitivity. Thank you.
Previous I would eat from 6am till 4pm and it was the best for me. I also think of my ancestors and having a leakage of ranchers. I would see my father wake up at 4am and eat (tall glass of raw milk, some green mix he would drink for vitamins, and bread and butter), return for a heavier breakfast at 10am, then smaller meals til the evening. He usually had his last meal around 5pm.
Work shift isn’t natural and honestly no matter what other things you do to mitigate the damage, not sleeping at night has a very high cost when done long term. That said, it appears that structuring ur food where u eat when you wake and don’t eat for 3+ hrs before you go to bed is still the best way to do it even if you’re waking at 8pm for example. My advice - do whatever you can to get off shift work, it’s going to take years off ur life. And yes, I’ve done shift work and know that it seems impossible to avoid it at times but it really is just downright bad for you.

Berberin at night is not something id jump to take because it lowers glucose level. If it drops too low while you are asleep Guess what can happen. It is just safer to take it right after a meal. It is also a blood thinner so it is important to consider it while taking other things as well.
When I did eat breakfast in the morning, it helped me lose weight. Lately work hours and load has made it hard to wind down, eat on a schedule, and get up early enough for breakfast! Working for two bosses isn't particularly healthy either.
I stopped eating breakfast as of September 2023. Breakfast never made me any less hungry when lunch came around. Cutting those calories helped me get back to a normal weight. I'm 49 for it's worth.

Many of us eat when we’re hungry rather than looking at the clock. Much better to listen to our bodies. Also, eating meat and fat can keep us fuller longer which can keep us away from those carbs.
For most, eating when we are hungry doesn't work when food is genetically modified, processed and a lot of ingredients are added to totally mess up the human body. Make people crave more and more, turning them into addicts. Heavily promoting of snacking and make it affordable on every corner of supermarkets and basically everywhere else.
My "breakfast" starts at 12:30-1pm & it's only a few hundred calories most days with sardines or a salmon packet on others. My dinner is between 3-3:30pm & that's when I can eat 2 delmonico steaks for example. Today, I had eggs for dinner. I rarely eat after 4pm now resulting in a 20-21 hr fast. Down 32lbs since March 7th.
If your blood sugar is high its due to too much fatty acids blocking up the mitochondria (certain aminos included also) Sugar is not the badguy folks and burns far cleaner than fat... elevated lipolysis and fat oxidation is a indication to the body that it's a time of stress and starvation thus it slows everything down... this is not a good place to be for health.
Perhaps having 1/2 of our food having genetically modified ingredients? High fructose corn syrup from genetically modified corn? Having soda too often? You also have a point also.
Nobody can escape the Law of Thermodynamics. If you eat more calories than you use, you'll gain weight. No matter what food you put in your mouth or when you eat it.
The human body is not a closed system (which is what that particular law of thermodynamics is referring to). We do not 'burn' food to extract energy like a combustion engine. We use chemical reactions to extract nutrients from what we eat. It's our hormones more than anything that dictate how food is utilised.
There is more to it than thermodynamics. I person who gets diabetes can suddenly start losing weight without changing their diet. Hormones and insulin are the main factors.
Of course people will say that they can't eat first things morning natural to do so, but at least within the first few hours... no need to disappoint our ancestors who starved sometimes day after day
Over in reality, at least until the laws of thermodynamics are repealed (sans the mechanical extraction of tissue) , solely in terms of weight loss/gain, all that matters at the end of the day, is calories in/calories out. Of course there are a plethora of causes/associations/etc. that can be of benefit/detriment to the ability to gain/lose weight, but no one in the history of human kind has ever gained or lost weight without being in a hypocaloric/hypercaloric state over time.
The law of thermodynamics you refer to is in relation to closed systems. Not the human body. We don't 'burn' food to extract energy like a combustion engine. We use chemical reactions to extract nutrients. 'Calories' are measured in a bomb calorimeter. They are a measurement of heat energy only, when something is set on fire and burned up completely. Does your body do that to food? Coal contains 7.500 calories per gram. If 'calories in calories out' was reality you could eat coal and get fat.
What a load of rubbish! It's not possible to draw any conclusions unless you control the diet of every participant and that includes food types and quantities. What did they eat for breakfast, eggs and bacon or cereal? Not worth your time reviewing this one.

These include BPA from receipts, vinyl flooring, flame, retardants from mattresses, plastic from water bottles, and many others, and it’s one reason why obesity is so much worse in the United States than many other countries because, our regulatory agencies have been captured by the corporations and we have countries. The chemicals are permitted that are in Europe are 1/10 the number permitted in the United States, which currently number over 100,000.. Worth the listen. I don't understand this mania to find 'one size fits all' dietary solutions and rules. Skipping breakfast empirically works for a lot of people and doesn't work for a lot of people. So what! Find what works for you rather than following the dictates some grad students come up with in a lab.
Fast in the morning as long as you can till your body tells you its had enough it's time for energy now then eat healthy and drink water. It's that easy.
What I've observed throughout my entire lifetime is that the people that are the skinniest don't do a damn thing to be skinny. They eat and do whatever they want. I have friends that can eat 4 or 5,000 calories a day with tons of soft drinks, fast food, sweets and other garbage and do essentially no exercise yet never gain a pound their entire life. For me though, I can gain weight if I eat more than 2,000 calories a day, no matter how much exercise I do.
exercise outdoors = sport in my world / frisbee, kites, tag, urban hiking .. the activity should be the exercise (always) here in Canada anyways / the fresh air (combo alone) makes your life better … being inside in a gym seems backwards.
Skipping breakfast makes me just eat more at dinner, which is the worst time to consume excess calories and your sleep will suffer. It's fine if you're doing a lot of fasted exercise in the morning but then you're stuck in a loop! You're just making weight loss or maintenance hard work!
I put more value in what you're eating for breakfast. Obviously, eggs and bacon are far superior to cereal and donuts.
Bacon is garbage. Eggs avocado nuts fruits should be your breakfast.

Personally I eat breakfast but not dinner. I'll have a meal around 7am and another around 2pm. That's what works for me.
You are doing the correct intermittent fasting. Fasting should be done from the afternoon. Eat upon waking in the morning.
I’ve never felt good eating “breakfast.” Even when I was young, I always felt better skipping breakfast.
So fast and cardio doesn’t burn more calories or fat than eating before doing a workout?
Was it a research? What method did they use? How could they come up with the conclusion? What I can deduce from your talk is that people who had problems with sleeping usually irregularly eat in the morning, which made them fat. Other people who eat or not eat regularly did not get fat. Am I correct?
I eat when I'm hungry. And it's made my fat go down and muscle go up, of course paired with training. We overcomplicate things. If I'm hungry in the morning, I have breakfast. If not, I dont. We make it so much harder than it needs to be
Can’t tell when last I ate breakfast.
This is all good for folks that work 9 to 5 but, where is the help or information for people that work shift work ?
Work shift isn’t natural and honestly no matter what other things you do to mitigate the damage, not sleeping at night has a very high cost when done long term.
That said, it appears that structuring ur food where u eat when you wake and don’t eat for 3+ hrs before you go to bed is still the best way to do it even if you’re waking at 8pm for example.
My advice - do whatever you can to get off shift work, it’s going to take years off ur life. And yes, I’ve done shift work and know that it seems impossible to avoid it at times but it really is just downright bad for you.
If you want to be serious about it, you get blackout curtains and create darkness at home, stick to a routine that matches a daytime life.
After 32 year of working rotating shifts Ivan tell you that things are a lot better now that I’m working straight days.🙂
Im curious if you get similar "outdoor workout" benefits if the gym you go to has wide open garages to the outside. Thats what my gym has, so we get the sun and air from the outdoors.
Would you by chance be able to go over the study claiming fish oil/cod liver oil actually causes heart attacks? Sounds pretty fishy to me because those in the study who saw bad results were also on statins… Thanks for all you do educating us!
Don't ever work rotating shifts
Sooooo eat breakfast or not?
What time of day is best to take Berberine?
I have to search your account specifically in order to find your videos, even though I have the bell icon and subscribed. Anyone else?
I’m so confused there’s so much different information. It’s like don’t skip breakfast, no wait. Intermittent fasting for weight loss, blah blah blah which is it lol?
I love the berberine you guys sell!!!
I actually just started skipping breakfast and generally watching what I eat (within the last week), and I'm down 4 pounds so far. I have also been lifting heavy things, so that helps.
How does taking berberine control hunger and cravings since it lowers blood glucose? Wouldn't that make you more hungry?
I think I do believe that not eating breakfast makes you gain weight because I remember growing up my only obese friend said he didn’t eat breakfast he was the first person I’ve heard not do that at the time. I ate breakfast I was skinny years later I stopped eating breakfast for years now I’m considered obese and I can’t lose weight I now started eating breakfast to see if this will help I think it will
I disagree i need to get in my protein n i dont like eating much my appetitw is small so i only focus on protein so ues i eat 3 meals aday
Berberin at night is not something id jump to take because it lowers glucose level. If it drops too low while you are asleep Guess what can happen. It is just safer to take it right after a meal. It is also a blood thinner so it is important to consider it while taking other things as well.
Skipped breakfast and dropped 130 pounds. My window was between 12 and 6pm. Usually ate once a day.
I've been working on my circadian rhythm. Trying to eat within an hour of waking. A keto meal of course
What is the purpose of the Biotin in your Berberine formula?
Skin and hair
Should you be doing remote videos from tennis courts, volleyball courts, walking in a park, education of disk golf, bocce ball, ping pong, badminton....
Joining you for a set of ten push-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups at the start of your show?
This is interesting, easy to believe in fact. I'm curious if the study corrected for binge eating after skipping breakfast?
Many of us eat when we’re hungry rather than looking at the clock. Much better to listen to our bodies. Also, eating meat and fat can keep us fuller longer which can keep us away from those carbs.
For most, eating when we are hungry doesn't work when food is genetically modified, processed and a lot of ingredients are added to totally mess up the human body. Make people crave more and more, turning them into addicts. Heavily promoting of snacking and make it affordable on every corner of supermarkets and basically everywhere else.
I gained 6 pounds of lean muscle mass by skipping breakfast, I know your on to somthing and I'm 61.
I haven't eaten breakfast in literally decades, yet I'm leaner than I've ever been in my late 40s. Total nonsense idea based on a weak correlation.
Breakfast is simply the first meal you eat in a day. It's the first meal you eat when you break your fast 😊
I'm just having breakfast now after 2pm. I spent all morning working outside . Working hard
I only eat fruit for breakfast. I havent put on weight in months
As long as the breakfast you're skipping is garbage cereal
Yeah but what food you put may affect if you burn it or store it by very complex mechanisms
I’ve actually lost weight skipping breakfast, but then again I properly fasted. And it’s regular not irregular. I regularly skip breakfast lol.

I eat Greek yogurt high protein and fresh berries that’s not wheaties!
I could eat breakfast, I actually like breakfast but I have found it easy enough to skip. To lose weight, I don’t eat until around noon, and I am happy to be at a more comfortable weight (actually around the same as I was at about 18, I’m now a 54 year old women in peri menopause)
I start cooking breakfast as soon as I wake up. 6 eggs 1 pound of beef is what I had today. Lunch is cooking now, 2 pounds of beef and dinner will be iguana i hope!
I put two eggs on top of left over pizza from the night before.
Funny, someone forgot to tell my body it should be gaining weight not losing weight by skipping breakfast.
Great interview. At 1:15 this expert talks about how many common chemicals are obesogens that increase the size of fat cells. Calories in calories out no longer applies. ruclips.net/video/4DWKf5RqU-s/видео.htmlsi=1oaRTPreFAKdhoup
I started gaining weight when i added breakfast back in
I don't understand this mania to find 'one size fits all' dietary solutions and rules.
YOU ABSOLUTELY DO NOT HAVE TO EXERCISE TO LOSE OR MAINTAIN A HEALTHY WEIGHT
What I've observed throughout my entire lifetime is that the people that are the skinniest don't do a damn thing to be skinny. They eat and do whatever they want. I have friends that can eat 4 or 5,000 calories a day with tons of soft drinks, fast food, sweets and other garbage and do essentially no exercise yet never gain a pound their entire life. For me though, I can gain weight if I eat more than 2,000 calories a day, no matter how much exercise I do.
I haven't eaten breakfast in 20 years
exercise outdoors = sport in my world / frisbee, kites, tag, urban hiking .. the activity should be the exercise (always) here in Canada anyways / the fresh air (combo alone) makes your life better … being inside in a gym seems backwards.
Skipping breakfast makes me just eat more at dinner, which is the worst time to consume excess calories and your sleep will suffer. It's fine if you're doing a lot of fasted exercise in the morning but then you're stuck in a loop! You're just making weight loss or maintenance hard work!
Breakfast is lost sleep.
So eat breakfast or not? Lol!
9:05
I just fast most mornings, and I have a 15% body fat now
"may be"...this. " may be" that....Also if you have to exercise to maintain ideal weight then you are not eating properly.
