How To Program Kraton V5 Spektrum Firma ESC for MAXIMUM Power!!!

- This is for ALL cars that have the new V5 Firma esc's.. Default settings out of the box is set to level 4 of 9.. So you havent even experienced what your kraton/ typhon/ talion/ mohave, etc are unless youve turned the punch up..
V4 esc, BLX185 is also set to half punch stock..

I have 2 of those fans on rc, sounds like a jet at idle. Funny how they change how to program these in different models. I have to many setups I use the program box but this is very good for people to know. It is confusing looking at it.
yeah they definitely do sound like a jet engine. lol. ove rthe past year or two that ive owned the Typhon ive been asked probably 10 different times if its a "gas powered" RC because of how loud it is. lol. They crank though. GREAT fans!
And every model they have a different manufacturer making their stuff. The V5 is spektrum, the V4 was hobbywing, etc.. And every company has their own way of doing things.. So even though its a kraton v4 and kraton v5, the electronics are worlds apart made from completely different companies. thats why theyre all so different. I was happy with the BLX185 and im happy with the Spektrum Firma. Both amazing systems!!

@@jstagzsr I have a collection of new ones. I rip out the electronics and throw coke cans in everything. Not always the best, sometimes it’s to heavy and effects stunting and stability. Ya, they are good systems for sure!

Hey. I just got a V5 6s for my birthday. My gf got me the car and a 3s battery. Its set on 3s. I bought a 6s battery. Which setting will let me program it for 6s? Thanks
I've only ever used my 6s cars on 6s so I'm not 100% sure. Look at the menus and see if there's a setting to manually change the profile for battery voltage. It should just work though. Just plug it in and go ride.
Correct me if I'm wrong the punch setting is only to accelerate harder it does not affect top speed or does it?
correct. punch is initial torque. top speed is not effected.
@@jstagzsr I'm asking because my Kyosho Inferno GT2 even on five wants to pop wheelies and I'm running a 24 pinion and 40 spur now the lower the number on the spur the more top end correct and the higher the number on the pinion is more top speed? Just making sure I've been out of the game for a little while all I know is she wants to pop wheelies on 100% power and on punch 4
@@kaycee9337 yeah most of these high powered setups even completely stock they are still an almost unusable amount of power. The kraton will do standing backflips on stock power settings. lol. fun to be like "hey look what i can do" but while actually using the thing it requires a bit of control to race or bash with it..
And yes, the larger the pinion/smaller spur the more top speed, lower the torque.. smaller the pinion/larger the spur the more torque, lower top speed.. then there's tire size thatll also add to it. smaller the tires, more torque, lower speed. larger tires is more top speed lower torque.. Larger the punch setting larger the torque.. so there are thousands of combinations of settings and configs you could do to get exactly the performance you wanted. easiest way to alter speed/torque is with spur/pinion sets. because the larger one is the smaller the other HAS to be to line up properly. in almost all cases you cant leave the spur the same size and get a massive pinion, and vice versa. you still need proper mesh of gears no matter what config you go with.

I'm noticing on level 7 versus level 4 my car takes off smoother when I ease into it but it's much more powerful when I hit it hard but I can't believe the smoothness on level 7 wonder why
More efficient power delivery maybe? Shocks set up for higher torque maybe? I can think of a few things it could be. I'd love to see a vid breaking the science down on that topic.

What is number one run mode what is run mode and number two what does it mean
It says what they are.. forward with brake, run mode 1, means when you squeeze the trigger to go forward you go forward and when you push the trigger to go backwards you hit the brakes. The middle one, mode 2, is you go forward or you can go backwards and the backwards is also the break and then there's mode 3, that is only forwards and backwards with no brake

@@kaycee9337 leave that one alone. Motor timing depends on the magnet size and thickness and coil wraps and each configs, etc. That will be set correctly from the factory. It will still work usually with different timings but it could be inefficient and could overheat and damage the coils.
How did you get pass 4 on punch setting I can only go up to 3 on punch
Then you're in the wrong setting or you have a different esc. This guide is SPECIFICALLY for the V5 Kraton 6s. Double check the menu number you're in because it goes up to 9.
How did you solder the cap pack on xt 90 connectors
The cap pack is stock on the v5 kraton. Maybe all v5 Arrmas but definitely on the kraton. But you would solder it like you sold or anything else. What do you mean? Like exact steps?
How do you calibrate the throttle end points
You need a radio that allows it. I use a flysky noble for all my high end rc's and they each have their own fine tuned profile. On the stock radio there is a switch that sets 50-75-100 for throttle. That's effectively changing the endpoint.
Is this just as powerful as the vileneon traxxas motor
Idk what that specific motor is so I can't speak on it. But I have other videos showing the insane power of the v5 kraton motor/esc. On 6s it'll do standing backflips with ease. Even with larger heavier tires and a bunch of metal parts making the truck heavier.

@@tylerdouglas5193 nice. 60 is quick. I never had a v5 Typhon but The Typhon with the old v4 motor does 70's out of the box. I love fast RC'S.

@@just719 no, it is set on power level 4 of 9 from the factory. So less than half power. They do that so it doesn't overheat which can damage the motor. If you're gonna crank up the power you definitely need a fan and heatsink.

@@just719 I always do level 9 but even the stock level 4 is very powerful. If you're brand new to 6s or 8th scale I'd leave it on level 4 until you get used to the power.
