✅ About Lost Socket Garage:
Lost Socket Garage.com was created in 2019, though its roots run much longer. It all began with a group of friends that loved to modify their cheap high school cars with next to no actual budget. Originally focusing on our love of American Muscle, we grew into specializing in Classic Ford mustangs and more specifically the highly popular Coupe to Fastback Conversion. With the Fastback Market skyrocketing, we wanted to provide a realistic alternative to owning a classic Fastback without shelling out the premium they draw.
With many Successful conversions under our belt, our goal is to provide Knowledge, Experience, and the highest Quality in the industry at a reasonable price. At Lost Socket Garage, we truly love the car culture and the community that goes with it. It’s not about the money, it’s about making people smile when they hit the gas.
Sincerely, Hunter Smith
Owner and Gearhead at Lost Socket Garage

Need to see a 1969 coupe to fastback video, lovin your videos. 👍
Coming soon!
Wow those mountains look like a painted back drop.
We are a bit spoiled
Where are yall located? Edit: I Google searched, other side of the country:( Love your content!! Thanks for the " measurements" !!! Nobody does that and I appreciate it.
my 69 was a flinstone car and i just finished welding in the new floor and i got it for $1000
That's a great feeling!
Yessir, thank you for this vid! Appreciate the info.
Thanks i appreciate your advice
Happy to help
Great video!
Thanks!
Do you have a video on making the frame jig? Im about to be in the process of changing the front frame rails on my 68. Possibly a good source for measurements? Thanks for the videos!! Enjoy them all brother!!
Yes we do! ruclips.net/video/fKSpWiiTQjk/видео.html
Bring back the top knot!
Hard no! Shit was a PITA. Also I looked a little toooooo pretty
One last question if you’re going to convert a coup to a Shelby fastback, 1967 model, you have to replace the hood and front bumper too right?
Initially I didn’t realize the hood is longer until the other day but it seems like I never hear people talking about replacing the hood on conversions.
Yes, you can do the Long hood. For the conversion itself though, nothing gets touched up there.
OMG, I'm a big 1st generation Mustang Guy. I know what I'm looking at, and I know all the problem areas. I wouldn't have touched the 66. I'd have told the seller all its bad points. I'd have chosen what you said was a dumpster Fire!!! LOLLLLLLL It was the best choice. But did it have a drive train? That would bring the cost up, but it makes the possibilities endless as to what could be done to it.
No Drivetrain no. I forgot to factor that in there sadly. Wish I was better at this YT thing hahaha
@lostsocketgarage No problem!!! If I had the funds, I'd like a Cyote with a standard shift. I had a few 1st Gen Mustangs. The last one was a 67 Shelby GT350, 4spd, candy apple red was its original color. It looked like a million bucks after paint. I wish I still had it. We all make mistakes, don't we?
Is there a different in a 67 or 66 model conversion?
Yes, quite a bit actually. Most Measurements are different and the parts are completely different.
@@lostsocketgarage ok have you ever done a 66?
Yes we have
@@lostsocketgarage also made a video?
We haven't made a video on a 65-66 yet no
I have a 67 coupe I want you to covert. Where are you located? 2:00 2:07

I want to do this right now so bad I can’t stand it. I’m afraid if I wait, the price is just going to get worse.
I’m kind of hoping the economy collapses here in the next few years to bring prices back down to normal, but my luck the price on these will just grow and grow.
Please tell me I’m wrong About the prices of these mustangs 🙏
(Yes I realize how ridiculous my comment is)
Sorry, the prices will always be high because of supply and demand. Even if the economy is reset, the pay scale will be reset as well. How many will lose their jobs, and even homes in the process? If you have the funds, stop waiting.
I'd love to tell you things will come down in price, but honestly in the parts and labor industry right now, it is as cheap as its going to be. Production caught up after covid mostly but prices are still not down. As for Mustangs..... there is no more supply. They don't make these new anymore. So prices for real fastbacks will continue to go up, which will pull the prices of converted cars up, which will pull coupes up too. When you have the money, do it. I just don't see prices coming down. I'm sorry
Amen to supply and demand.
@@lostsocketgarage you know it!!!
Thanks guys!
Given the deterioration due to age of most 1960 muscle cars, aren’t you just better off to purchase all the body structure and sheet metal new. You will save hundreds of hours repairing old bodies and have a much better vehicle.
You can still have the original engine, transmission and suspension.
Completely situational. most of the time, its cheaper to get a rough coupe though.
