These look nice, but I think I’ll spend my money on those Folio society editions, those look really sweet and have very nice artwork throughout the books.
@@FoolishFishBooks Hi, I am currently looking to buy the books and can’t find them anywhere and wanted to know if you still have them and if you would be willing to sell them?
@@orbital1210 I live in Poland so the cost of shipping may be quite high depending on where you live, but if that doesn't scare you, yes, I would be willing to sell the whole set for a total of £400 plus shipping.
Denis, one of mine came with small dollop of gooey glue near the spine which I am hoping isn’t from the binding (because of this is glue bound ....), but from the end paper.... Do you see something similar on any of yours...? I also haven’t been able to see where it says what material are these book covered by, I mean they feel like leather to me....
@@FoolishFishBooks It does looks like the sort I can remove since it remains gooey if that make sense. I might just leave mine, but I might show it when I share another edition of A Game of Thrones (the l first book only, not a set) which I have not seen much around and am very curious about, but disappointingly appear to have been bound with glue instead of sewn :(
@@NobodyHere the glue could be from any number of things, to my knowledge both the older harper voyager and these are machine stitched bindings (you can easily check if there is obvious grouping of signatures along the spine). Overtop of the binding there is always glue and cloth, sometimes a paper tube is added also.
The gilt stamping on the top left corner at 2:34 being horrendously off-center does not leave me optimistic about the quality control (including leather quality) of these volumes.
As someone who collects predominantly leatherbound or deluxe editions of books this pain is well known. One book I have my eye on right now is over $500... Ouch
@@uz.f1746 the leatherbound folio society Dracula. All the scalpers got it straight away. There's alot floating around but they're all marked up $200-$300 on MSRP.
@@prototypep4 thank you so much for the insight. I haven't found a comparison video but upon reading a lot of reviews the folio books do look of better quality.

Your book reviews make good ASMR also.
I like the golden edges.. so cool..
I just bought these on sale earlier today and am so excited that i had to come rewatch the video again lol
Ooh! Congratulations! Very exciting!
Brilliant covers. I'd like to own these once the whole series is out in George's hand...which could take a while lol
Is part 1 still available anywhere? I can't find it for the life of me
I’m wondering if they will ever print them again, especially book 1
I need these in my life!!!!
Arian Serrano same buddy
Can't get all of them anymore
Should I get these or the folio society editions??
whichever you like. I got these too from Hyper Collins. You can't go wrong with this edition I can guarentee you that.
Hi, do you still own this set?
Hi! I'm afraid I don't understand your question. GRR Martin has written 5 books in this series so far. I show you the 5 books in this video.

Man I’m contemplating it but it’s a cool $400 for all the books
Have you seen the illustrated hardcover versions?
Is 1-5 the complete set? Or it is more to come?
Ah, we are all hoping there WILL INDEED be more to come, but now we also have to believe those volumes will ever be written...
Are these a UK exclusive? They're so beautiful.
See the US and UK links in the description :)
They are nice but I would bot purchase until the author has completed the series. If he ever does.
Everything, but the smell! I believe I may go broke if I continue watching your videos.

yeah but too be fair these books are a fraction of the cost of other books that look as good as this
Most likely not using real leather..
They’re absolutely stunning. Too bad im broke lmao, i also recently just bought 4 books so i think i need to take a break from my bookshopping spree.
