Seeing this, I don't understand how anyone can dislike Pearl Jam or Eddie Vedder. Eddie never even met Andy Wood yet he delivers the finest rendition of this song with respects to Andy.
@@exdemocrat9038 - Exactly. Eddie Vedder 110% owes his career to a dead man. Being a very intelligent person himself I'm sure Vedder not only knows this but has thought about it many, many times throughout his long career with PJ. Ed paying his respects to Andy with this beautiful song is a mark of deference to a man Ed never knew personally and yet owes his entire professional career too.
Eddie did an absolutely beautiful job singing this song!! Eddie's has so much respect for his band mates Jeff and Stone, they wouldn't of let Eddie sings this if they didn't think Eddie handle it but he did, a wonderful job!! RIP Andrew Wood 😇💝🌹thank you for sharing this awesome video 😊💓🤘✌️
when I was in my 20s I drifted around and behind a beer store in ogden Utah a dude played this on his "Walkman" with little speakers I was like dude play that again and he did and I thought "I'm gonna be ok" And I'm 47 now and "kinda" ok lol cool tune man lifes a fun adventure and I gotta !!!! feel that way
I have always LOVED PJ! I lost a really close lifelong friend on July 7th, unexpectedly. I have listened to Pearl Jam a lot to grieve and try to process it. PJ has always been there to help me through the dark, tough times. It's amazing what music can do. I hope if anyone reads this knows that you matter, and you are loved. And if you left, you would have so many people devastated. Please talk to someone!! Please 🙏
how wonderful and how tragic it is all are connected.Green river, Mother love bone, pearl Jam, temple of the dog, soundgarden, mad season Alice in chains and so on. They’ve faced most unbearable suffering in life. Loosing their band mates through out the journey! one after another that they see as their brothers. they escape all the distress with their wonderful music.
Andy would surely say that Eddie could resurrect the most tender love vibrations of his incredible songs. It feels like Andy is actually present in his authentic signature style. This is metaphysical transformation at its best. Something about the way he moves when singing the masterpieces of the late great Landrew. Young people get a taste of what real music sounds like which is a rarity in the end times. Literally this time I see the "phoenix rising from the ashes" in all of its splendour.Thank you Eddie for this momentous performance.
Hearing the crowd singing with Eddie is just amazing. I hope most of them know the history of this song. It would have been better with Andrew, but this is just quality shit right here
bucketheadstech I was at this show...granted it’s not the biggest arena in the world but during the first couple songs the band was looking at each other noticing the crowd then talked about it all night. They started pulling shit out like this and “ain’t talking about love” cuz they dug the crowd so much
The song is one of the most beautiful ever. Never ages. Eddie singing it is paying respect to his roots. Who would not want Eddie Vedder to sing this song?
Freakin' awesome. Especially after finally seeing Pearl Jam Twenty just three nights ago. This is truly the icing on the cake after that. RIP Andrew Wood.
Life works in mysterious ways. As a 15 year old kid I got into Pearl Jam and then quickly got out about 17/18 around Vitalogy days, just lost interest. In 2006 got interest in the "Avocado" album and knew nothing about MLB except only in passing. Somehow picked up on them after watching the Say Hello to Heaven video, which I had known about since high school in the early 90's but didn't make the connection. Glad I found MLB, great band, even if it was extremely short lived.
I always preferred MLB over their reincarnation into Pearl Jam but it's such a damn shame what happened with Andrew Wood, I love Mother Love Bone so much, their music helped me in a time when I was lost and gone, man if he would've lived, they would've gone far and made more beautiful albums but we're lucky to have Apple, and Malfunkshun respectively.
Just finished watching the same identical concert piece from Eddie and Pearl Jam in 2011. Eddie is perfect singing both songs and I do not believe anyone else could have pulled it off and perform both songs that resembles the style and vocal rendition of Andy and Mother Love Bone. It definately feels to me that Andy was there to help Eddie sing both songs to perfection.
Epic song that takes me back to the 90's in the best way and now covered by Pearl Jam? Perfect. Thank you so much for posting this!! My favorite cat died yesterday and I needed something beautiful/sad to match my emotions.
***** great video. Thank you. My seats were behind the stage and my nose was bleeding from the altitude. I'm so glad to see an up-close look at this incredible show.
The first time they played this live(that I know of) was a Vegas show back in October 2000. They were celebrating 10 years together as a band. They played the Chloe Dancer intro, but he didn't sing any of it, before it went into Crown of Thorns. Just look up "Crown of Thorns 2000" and there will be a few options. Enjoy. :-)
the people i went to school with would never know this song i grew up listening to malfunkshun and the rest of Seattles finest bands that wrote songs with meaning behind them, songs you could relate to, that didn't look past the bad in the world but presented the bad with the good not for the money but simply for the music it seems like people don't want to hear the truth on the radio anymore just songs about money and never ending happiness which i feel like blinds people from their actual feelings.
R.I.P ANDY WOOD OPIOD HERION ADDICTION! LOVED JAMMIMG TO THIS CASSETTE IN HIGH SCHOOL DAY IT WAS RELEASED! CLASS OF 1991! MOTHERLOVEBONE WOULD BE HUGE N 2020!
The time of my life,Knew Chris ,Andy,Stone in my time in Seattle from 87 till 92 as a silly British lad living with his aunt. Got to know Eddie when he turned up, i married a Seattle girl and we are still friends with most of them even though we lost a few, they new me as English John.Happy times
So I love this song. I got a niece that I call Chloe Dancer. Hope she doesn't strip, but she will probably dance on a few tables in college. I didn't know this wasn't an original pearl jam song for a long time. Once I learned of mother love bone I listened to it all and mother love bone was awesome. Hence why the band crushed after the lose. I just think it is very special that they still sing this song as PJ. It isn't a cover but it is a cover and that is cool It is like Eddie singing Karaoke. Check out mother love bone if you don't understand this. Eddie could have been like no this is Pearl Jam, but nope he sings this song at every concert I've ever been too. And it is amazing everytime. After listening to the original, Eddie doesn't sound as good but the band always does, but it wasn't Eddie's song.
Seeing this, I don't understand how anyone can dislike Pearl Jam or Eddie Vedder. Eddie never even met Andy Wood yet he delivers the finest rendition of this song with respects to Andy.
Just think that if Andy never died nobody would ever have known Eddie Vedder. & the name Pearl Jam wouldn't exist.
You know that!

You guys jam!! All of you..favorite band !! 10-16-2014 first show on my birthday..
Someone doesn't like them! It's probably the Seattle city council because Eddie and PJ make them look bad for doing more for Seattle than they do.
You can tell Ed fully feeling Andy Wood when he sings this. It's just so heartwarming and emotionally beautiful.
I am so sad knowing I've met some famous people in my life, but never had a chance to see P.J. or M. L. B. They will always have my heart..❤️
Oh hell yah thanks for keeping this song alive. RIP Andrew Wood.
I wonder just how surreal this is for Eddie. He nor Pear Jam would be where they are today if Andy doesn't OD. And what a great song.
Andrew’s was the kind of life that moves on, but he left something beautiful and lasting. Eddie channeled that perfectly here.
I am immediately teary eyed from the first notes of the piano. This is the proper mood for this song, in my opinion.
It gets me all the time
🎉

When Apple came out, it seemed as if the entire state of Washington both danced with joy, and wept with sorrow.....
Yeah what a trip ;P
That's beautiful

This is so beautiful, almost brings me to tears... Great tribute from Eddie to Andy... R.I.P. L'Andrew Love Child.

Andy wrote a timeless song..
You can just tell that he is feeling the song, the whole band is with it.
Thank you Eddie and PJ.
Heartbreaking, one of my favourite songs and performed with so much soul.
💔AW💔

+Animesh Das yes, I turn 40 in November... ugh
I am sure they do - I found it at 55 yrs old - even saw the doc on Andy

Yeah, Andy could go higher for sure, but I would have loved to have heard Ed sing this in his 1992 voice. Either way it’s fucking what life is.

RIP Andy Wood..Think you would be proud
Seems like that little guy made a lot of waves in his few short years. I'm sure he had no idea his music would last this long. Pretty tragic really...
Without Andy we have no Pearl Jam no sound garden no grunge it’s so weird hard to comprehend... rip all who’ve gone before us....
There are people in the world that get this.. to you I say thank you!! God bless 🙏 Eddie could not be better
One of the best music performances of all time.

We must preserve Eddie Vedder with all of our being.
Se eu vejo esse vídeo 100 vezes, porque só posso dar um "like?"
If i see this vid a 100 times, why can i give it just one like?

Thank you Chester! You should do Immortality from this show too! Love your work bro !
que achado...belíssimo de facto. Original de Mother Love Bone
There's something Whimsical and Being John Malkovich about this moment.
