@@AmericanFr33dom Henry is 20 times the back Pollard will ever be. I’ll take a run down Henry that a defense has to respect over Pollard who can’t get over 80 yards and goes half the season without scoring a touchdown. Pollard isn’t washed, he’s just not a back defenses have to respect.
You really make this easy. It starts up front. The interior oline and blocking scheme wasn’t working… which is why the trend was all season, they cant run the ball.
Teams respect Tony, but, unlike Dallas front office, teams know he's a 12-15 carry guy. We tried to use him like Zeke, which was idiotic. The Jones's want a Championship without making championship decisions or moves. Stephen "Cap Boy" Jones is not helping that, BUT he did get Jerry to stop blowing all available money on 1 player. Now, we need middle ground, where 1 big signing actually matters for 1 or 2 seasons.

I hear what you're saying about Pollard. But keep in mind that though he was able to play, he was still recovering from an injury from the previous season. No one comes back from an injury like that 100% the day they step into the field. I would also argue that this team's ability to block for the running game has diminished significantly over the last several years. They were still pretty good the first couple of years Zeke was here. But we were way more committed to the run and he was a bruiser or power back. This team wasn't designed for a guy like Pollard. When it comes to Henry, I don't really care if the Cowboys go after him or not. But the fact that the guy already has a residence here and works out here already is at the very least a bonus, I would think. We'll see what happens. I don't hold out a lot of hope that the Dallas Cowboys do much of anything big as far as player acquisition this off season save for the draft.
Pollard is not a workhorse back. He excels as a change of pace guy. We should draft a running back or sign a guy like Zach moss. Don't overspend on running back
Great content, as always. However, and i will say this every single day: NONE of this matters if we cant STOP the run. If a team can line up and run the ball successfully, YOU WILL NOT WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. PERIOD.
Fish, any plan they have to pass up on Derrick Henry is a plan that will fail, all in? We've seen that for 29 years! Could they luck up and find someone else? It's possible, but who wants to try those odds?
Derrick Henry would be one the biggest additions to the cowboys in recent memory bo running back in this draft compares to his even at this point in his career if yoi sign him to a 1 or 2 year deal amd get some good play outta him it's a win and better than anything we've had toney pollard is a feature back he can not carry the load we need a big power back that can pick up the dirty yards up the middle and block
Come on Fish you can't fairly conpare any of these other backs to Henry, he is proven elite every year in NFL best back in NFL, an if the "Cowboys" don't sign him, we not serious about "all in" or winning a Superbowl anytime soon...we should sign him, an pay him fairly, he's not a project, he's a consistent dominant elite back his whole 8 years on a mostly mediocre least than average Titans offense.
Henry @ $7m and Pollard @ $4m another yr. removed from injury. Henry with 62 percent of the carries Pollard at 38 we would be loaded!!! $1m more than last year.
Hey Mike, I have a question, Several years ago Dallas pick up an old Titans running back in Eddie George (2004). Tennessee has rode Derrick Henry just like they did Eddie George (300 to 400 carries / 20 to 50 receptions a year). When George was here, he wasn't that good anymore. I would be afraid that Derrick Henry would be the same way. Henry is in year 8 and it was in year 8 that George came to the Cowboys. What do you think?
Aint no way u comparing Henry and George. It's no comparison at all. Henry still has juice left, when George got here the tread was dam near at the end
@@deanowallace4151 Yes Julius Jones was drafted in 2004. He had a pretty good career (4 years in Dallas, 3 years in Seattle & 1 in New Orleans). In 2004 the RBS were Julius Jones, Eddie George & Reshard Lee & the FBS were Darian Barnes & Richie Anderson. I really liked it when Dallas picked up Anderson from the Jets. I liked the 2005 lineup when they added Marion Barber.
@@rodneyruffin3455 It was the same back when Dallas pick up George....they thought he had tread left too...but he really didn't. I have liked Henry since he was at Alabama and to add him to the mix in Dallas could be awesome if he does have (like you said) tread left on the tires. But to me, I see a lot of comparison between Henry & George (size, the way the run, durability etc...) I was for picking up George back in 2004, but Julius Jones was better. I think we could do better if we draft Trey Benson (FSU) or Jonathon Brooks (Texas). This is my opinion anyway.
This gives me losing d.murray and going with Joseph because he looked better than Murray as a backup. It definitely didn't work out for us. Im not saying tp is as bad as Joseph, just saying the situation is similar but it got us Zeke in the draft. Maybe history could repeat itself and we draft the next Zeke in the 2nd or 3rd round
Both Cowboy runningvacks are nothing but backups. The Cowboys must obtain a legitimate starting running back. If they resign Pollard as the starter then they may like how their salary cap looks and pat themselves on the back, but they won't be winning ANYTHING meaningful yet again. But I think Jerra and Stephen are just fine with that.
Pollard is a part time back. He can't do the heavy lifting. We only have 3 or 4 quality draft picks. Nobody hits on all of them, NOBODY please dip into free agency geeeeeeez stop thinking that ur going to find some bum jus getting outta rehab or a fringe pro off someone practice squad smh

100 percent agree, from a diehard cowboys fan, I'm also a realist and honestly I've been sick of the cowboys shit, but now I'm just about over there BS
Has Barkley ever played in every game of any season since turning pro? Tough guy but seems to be made out of glass, El Paso. 1 yr deal for Henry makes too much sense for the Cowboys to do it. "All in" is not straight dope, no bullshh. It's just BULLSHH. Thanks FISH. Safe travels home...whenever.
Intriguing thing about paying Henry is you're getting that physicality that we have been missing. If they can get him at a reasonable price, I'd be all for it, even though I don't like the idea of paying rb's
The Zeke plan i think would have worked if Romo dont get bench, Garrett being a dumb Coach should of went to the vet in December when Dak started to struggle, Not saying we would have won the Super Bowl but i bet we would have beat Aaron Rodgers that year & possibly made NFC Championship, it was so wide open that year. 🤦♂️
It’s pretty simple, no one respects the run with Pollard in the backfield. With Henry they absolutely will respect the run.
Coming off the injury he had, I'll take pollards production over Henry's last year. Henry is all but done.
