Demeco said if Dre doesn’t get injured, we win that game. He shut out Kelce in the first half. When the sub came in, Kelce had 9 catches for 92 yards. 😢
Not even a niners fan and once I seen him go down I was like yeah kelce about to eat. Greenlaw was flying around and knocking people down out there. He was the enforcer.
I was so hardcore invested this season like no other , I haven’t rewatched or thought too much about it or relive it in my head , this one really hurt I cried a lot lol
Happens sometimes. I once watched a UFC Middleweight Championship fight between Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote, in the third Cote flinched oddly and tore his knee. It was especially disappointing because Silva was in his prime when he was destroying everyone and Cote had brought him further than anyone in very recent memory.
Yup. Completely locked Kelce down up until that point. Brutal. He's still young enough that he could return from this yet. He has the mentality to do it.
Dre made the difference in the 1st half. Niners would have won. Greenlaw is such a talent and played with so much heart in the playoffs. Looking forward to seeing him back this yr.
Greenlaw going down 100% had an effect on the outcome of that game. That short pass after short pass across the middle shit Mahomes did to drive down the field never would have been so successful had he been on the field. But Feliciano going down definitely played it's role because that missed block would not have happened. Everybody looks at the defense to blame because they got the last TD but in my eyes defense is the only reason we stayed in it.
Greenlaw imo. I think we stop them more and have more of a cushion for our offense, so we wouldn't need Burford to be trying to think for himself on the biggest play of the game and messing up his assignment.
I feel for Dre, man. I wish he could complete the game and probably could win the MVP. Especially on how he took Kelsey 1 on 1, and Kelsey got nothing. 😢
Dre Greenlaw could retire tomorrow and be one of my favorite Niners ever. And I've been a fan for several decades. He won't be retiring tomorrow, though. If anybody can recover from this and make it back, it's Dre. We're pulling for you bro.
Def a tough moment. I hated that moment but yea, Dre is that guy. All anyone needs to do to know about Dre is listen to how Fred Warner talks about Dre. Fred speaks insanely high of Dre Greenlaw. He’s the heartbeat of our defense!
I hope Dre is healing up well and doesn't rush back in to play in a hurry, that said when he's totally recovered and strong enough may he create devistation on opposing teams as he knows how can't wait to see him in action doing what he does best be one of the biggest headaches for opposing teams bring on the heat Dre !!!!
Man I thought it was the same Achilles where he had the tendinitis for a few weeks. Kind of unsettling to know it was the other foot. Such a hard injury to recover from its such a shame
One thought ... it's a long season. Guys bodies wear down and become more injury prone as the season goes along. Look at the way defenses were targeting Deebo's shoulder and trying to injure him. Which means that during the season, different guys need to get enough reps so that they're ready - I mean really ready - when someone goes down. Like the way Brock was ready when Jimmy went down. Brock went in and elevated the whole team. Sure, Brock is elite. But every guy needs to be elite at his position. I don't know if that would work out in reality, but it's a thought.
Dre had the midfield locked down. When he went down, Reid and Mahomes licked their lips and targeted that midfield, especially Burks. But not only did the pass completions by Mahomes go up, Mahomes ran it up the middle a few times to convert and extend TD drives. No question Dre leaving injured was ONE of several things that if had not happened then the 49ers win. Still - what a fantastic season! Best wishes for Dre's FULL recovery!!
So sad to relive this. Totally heartbreaking still. Coming from someone who ruptured BOTH of my Achilles. I can relate. I hope he doesn’t have the same fate that I had. After a full year of rehab I ended up rupturing my other Achilles my first game back.

We all felt like we lost that Super Bowl when he went down
@@jcbvortex22seeing him go down was the real start of my nerves man. We couldn't stop them from scoring after that
Agreed. Crushed when he went down.
that's what changed the game. absolutely heartbreaking.

I refuse to watch any replay of this game.
Dre Greenlaw injury was so bizarre

Wishing you speedy and full recovery Dre.
Greenlaw was wrecking the Chiefs in the SB. He was winning that game for us. He was playing hyped up that night
Then the turf monster wrecked him. What kind of idiot blows his knees out on the sideline.
100%. Kelce did absolutely nothing up until his injury. Then became Mahome's main weapon after it.
Thank you. Go 49ers 💪
As soon as Greenlaw left the game it allowed dink and dunk Mahomes to get his short passes to Kelce.
that changed the game completely, it was heartbreaking.
Yup. Completely locked Kelce down up until that point. Brutal. He's still young enough that he could return from this yet. He has the mentality to do it.
I legit shed a tear when Dre went down. He is a major heartbeat for our team.
Me too bro. And I'm no kid. That hurt. But if anybody makes it back from that injury, it's Dre.
May GOD Heal you speedily ✝️❤️🙏🏾
Dre made the difference in the 1st half. Niners would have won. Greenlaw is such a talent and played with so much heart in the playoffs. Looking forward to seeing him back this yr.
Which was worse, Greenlaw going down or Feliciano in the SB? Terrible luck both
Feliciano going down isn't discussed enough. I actually could make the case that his injury had a bigger snowball effect.
Feliciano x100000

After Greenlaw went out of the game it allowed dink and dunk Mahomes to get off his short passing game to Kelce.

They win the game if he didn’t go down
Extremely rare for a defensive player to win Superbowl MVP.
Dre Greenlaw could retire tomorrow and be one of my favorite Niners ever. And I've been a fan for several decades.

Truly devastating injury for Dre! My heart goes out to him. If he doesn’t get injured we win the Superbowl! His impact on defense was huge!

This reminded me of when Navorrow Bowman got hurt in the NFC Championship. Greenlaw’s was not as gruesome to watch but the impact was similar.
That was the worst luck for Dre, the 9ers and the fans. o
i wondered how he was didnt look good at all speedy recovery dre
Dre was a favorite of mine from the moment I first noticed him early in 2019.
Member that stop at the goal line in Seattle? He’s a Bad mo’fo
@@lonewulf7045 That was a huge play (difference between a 1 and 5 seed), but Dre caught my attention early on with his speed and ferocity.
hopefully he talked to AA Ron to get some of that special medicine.
A A Ron is a funny statement. That Key & Peele sketch was hilarious
Still waiting for a picture of Dre Greenlaw and Dremond Green together. Until then I will assume they are the same person.
He will come back, with a vengeance I know we would have beaten the cheaps Brock better than mahomo

Get well soon
Bowman was never the same after his Achilles
Owen Burks sucked so bad. Not good that Dee Winters wasn't able to beat him out for the spot, can't imagine Dee will amount to anything either.
Greenlaw & Hufunga smh brutal

Thanks to that crap field they had to practice on before the SB
