I'm saying this once again, Jerry and Stephen want to see Lance play in the preseason to see how he plays and how well he can run the offense. If he can run it and be productive, they offer him a QB2 contract with this stipulation, if he becomes starter next season he will get X amount for the duration of that contract. If not starting he gets this amount to be QB2. Then they will let Dak play out his contract, making him an offer before FA starts. Dak can then either accept the offer or hit FA. If Lance can't show he can run the offense and be productive, then the Jones get serious about getting a contract with Dak. Lance would be the better option to rebuild the team because of lower salary than they would have with Dak. With Daks salary he would have to be able to carry the team because they wouldn't be able to put the talent around him, and that's the problem, Dak can't carry the team. So giving Dak another large contract reduces the ability to rebuild in 2025.
My bit of wisdom is: Start where you are. Use what you have. Do the best you can.

Fish, I may be wrong, but I still say they are waiting to see how Lance performs in preseason. He hasn't taken a single game snap as a Cowboy, so they really don't know if he can handle the offense or not. You can only learn so much in practice. If he can handle it, then they mat let Dak go. Lance does not have to beat Dak out, only be able to step in and be productive. That's why I think Dak is unsigned, also this could affect whether Lamb is signed. Daks contract plus Lambs projective contract would be over $90 million a year. So can they sign both Dak and CeeDee, plus be able to sign Parsons and rebuild the team, to a Super Bowl contender. That's why I say they are waiting to see what he can do in preseason.

8 years is plenty of time for me and most fans and were just sick of post season failure and that's all we have ATM I would say wait a minute we have won in the regular season with Dak why not just draft to help him?..Then I realize we have been drafting 7 years to help him thinking he was the guy almost there after a 13-3 rookie season. Well 8 years and 7 drafts later were no better then we were day 1 of Dak Prescott taking over for Tony Romo. And top note just for the record The Dallas Cowboys do NOT need zero part in no Shedeur Sanders no thanks . That would just mean another 10 years of losing.

The problem is cowboys have no run game with Mccarthy. So playoff time its all on Dak. Dak is a good qb. But Mccarthy has to realize he's no Rodgers, Farve or Montana. He can only carry the team so far. And he truly does choke in the big games. Its a little perplexing

Part of the problem with this is he does have great moments and plays great when dominoes fall in place. Its when shit goes really wrong elseware that he starts to falter. But being just slightly better than average does not make him a runner up mvp. Shoulda been the real mvp because the ravens can win even if lamar was hurt because the rungame was so good and defense was excellent. It was dak to cd or bust for the cowboys. We didnt have a defense to rely on and no running game either. And another reason why dak costs as much as he does is jerry, stephen, their screw ups in contract negotiations and what they value in a qb, plus the stress of playing for a team with as much prestige counts as well. Yall may not like it, but the more good soldier company man dak is, most likely the more he is worth to the joneses. He is the company front man, the spokesperson, the ground floor company manager, and the more praise(or hate) thrown his way with him handling both very professionaly makes his value go up even higher, mainly because of the joneses, and because the cowboys brand is worldwide.
No sir, absolutely not. Cowboys had CeeDee, Ferguson, Cooks and Pollard. The defense was not bad all year, in fact they won the first two or three games without Dak even scoring TDS. Christian McCaffrey was the MVP, Lamar can't read defenses and Dak losses every freaking big game. SF, Buff, Mia and GB. I didn't mention @ Philly because I believe we were cheated and he did play well. Home vs Philly, Dak said himself that he sucked....not to mention Arizona 🫣 and the * games vs. Det & Sea. He was 2nd in MVP because the league is forcing it as a QB only award.

Were you in the Cowboys draft room? How do you know if the Cowboys took calls for Prescott or not? Teams that have an opportunity to select a top QB aren't trading it away to get a more expensive vet QB short of Mahomes. The value of a good to decent rookie QB is you get them on the cheap and can surround them with premium talent.

So no I wasn’t in the draft room but Jerry did say we were taking all calls so I’m sure if Carolina called and wanted to trade their draft picks for Prescott and pick up his contract it would of been a done deal. lol. He is now. Sanders has the speed to take it to the house, Zeke is slower than Molasses. Zeke has had a run longer than 20 yards in 2 years.

@@504applest.2 Yeah nice try Sanders started 5 games and barely carried the ball in several others. Sanders still had more explosive runs than Elliott despite Elliot having more carries including a 48-yarder. Sanders when surrounded by decent support has averaged almost 5 yards per carry including in 2022 when he ran for 1300 yards. Zeke hasn't sniffed those kinds of numbers in years.
