I followed all of those steps and was still getting lots of lifting on the nails. After I switched and started using YN protein bonder, that all went away. Can't thank you all enough for the amazing products you bring to the table.

I totally new and prepping takes me FOREVER! And I still get lifting. I didn't know you could use the medium grit so close to the skin, so I will definitely try this 🙏
I got acrylics done for the first time about 3 weeks ago and by the 2nd week I already had lifting and now I know why! She didn’t prep my nail at all... just dabbed some cuticle oil on my nails and told me to wash my hands... AND didn’t even paint them nicely
I always get an overlay over my natural nails. I never have lifting at the cuticle. But with every full set, about half of them lift at the tips within the same day, or a day or two later. I always figured it was not enough primer applied, being that I have long nails. The tech only apply it at the cuticle area, and only redips the brush about every 3 - 4 nails. I figured the primer just wasn't reaching all the way to the tip of my nails.
What i do is make sure all nail polish is off, push the cuticle as far back as i can with the scraper flat side (gently of course) and then take the file around that area to make sure the skin is off th nail plate. Then i lightly buff the shine off instead of the file so i don't go to far down. Dust every thing off before i dehydrate and prime the nail and boom. Prep takes me max 15 mins
Thanks Tracey!! I do have problems with lifting and I have always looked back at my prep work to make sure im doing it thoroughly enough..After watching how you work around the cuticle area..I now know I DO not file around the cuticle area enough..Again thanks for info

Please do a video for beginners on how to not put dents in natural nails. Because I noticed that I always have dent in my natural nails once I take off my old Enhancement like in one of my nails I have two dents one on top and another underneath
Can you do this exact video but without an e-file? I'm not qualified in using an e-file so it would be really useful if you had any tips for prepping with hand files
To prep the natural nail using a hand file use a 220-240 grit file. Take a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick and push back the cuticles. Working from center to side on nail from the middle of the nail, remove the ptygerium from the nail plate. Hold back skin if necessary. Once completed, switch to an 180 grit file and remove shine from old product and check for cracks and lifting. File and blend out any cracks in the enhancements. Remove dust with nail brush or lint free wipe and dehydrate nail. Based on the system you're using either ph bond or acid prime the area to be filled. Now you're ready to complete your fill! Hope this helps and clarifies!
Think I might have to try this way on myself Tracey. Really useful tip if your struggling or get lifting. This might help me with my speed too x ;-) Great Tutorial!
What do you do if you have lifting from the free-edge as it’s chipping and lifting away from the natural nail both on me and my clients and I don’t know know what I’m doing wrong
My lifting is backwards. After a couple fills and i trim my nails down, they seem to pull away mostly at the corners of the tip of my nail... what can i do to fix it
this happens as our natural nail starts to pull away from the product. To help prevent this use cuticle oil not only around the cuticle area but a little underneath the nail as well
I got my nails done today and the people didn’t lift the correct tips so a few of them are too small, they don’t meet the edges of my nails on both sides so I’m preparing for them to lift pretty fast
Hey. My question is, how long does a prepped nail last for? So I started prepping my nails but my children needed me so I've stopped doing my nails. So the nails that were prepped do I have to go those again in a few hours? Or will they last several hours..? It will be about a 7 hour break?
How do you prevent lifting from someone with sweaty hands. I don’t have any problems with other clients but one in particular their hands sweat a lot and her nails lift easy.
With these clients, we would recommend prepping and applying one hand at a time. This way the oils/moisture won't come back to the surface as quickly. Also, when you are cleansing with Swipe, give the whole fingertip a wipe to remove the excess oils. You can also give the client a paper towel/table towel to hold in their palm to help absorb the moisture.
