This is my guilty buy of 2022 and I'm not taking the game seriously at all. I find its writing hilarious and a lot of its design a major step down from Nioh franchise. But I'm playing for CHAOS and the grunts of affirmation from Jack lol
No need to feel guilty for enjoying any game, I hope you have lots of fun with it.
@@Watheverable Eh? Have you seen some of the creepy hentai games on steam? Some of those games you probably should feel guilty for enjoying. There is literally a product called "Sex With Hitler". Real game. Real product. Delightful.

If Team Ninja take their amazing combat style development and partners up with a company that is known for their level designs and writing we could have one of the best games of all time.
Imagine a Nioh Elden Ring baby. Massive, beautiful, filled to the brim open world full of variety set in a fantastical feudal Japan, with Nioh combat and a more straight forward loot and character build system while retaining that variety Nioh and Souls games brings.
I mean, they kind of did. It just turned out like this
I was just thinking the same Team Ninja+SquareEnix now that is a dream team.. And making an installment of arguably the most important franchise in rpg history
@@Aidian1 Elden Ring had no flaws and it doesn't need a tiny bit of anything team ninja has to offer ...
sorry but its true
you deserve a dislike .
@@samali536 i never said there was anything wrong with elden ring you dunce lol.
IMO the issue with environments is just an extension of the issues I have with the Nioh series. I love both games, and they did alot better in 2 than 1, but I definitely think finding someone/a team to really take their environmental design to the next level is the one thing Team Ninja is missing as a studio.
Yup , world design , performance and camera is their weakness
Well, Nioh 2's story was somewhat better-presented in terms of individual missions but much weaker overall than the first in my opinion
You’re high if you think Nioh 2 looked bad visually. Those games are way ahead of this game especially when you’re comparing the PS4 versions
Is it the same level design as Nioh again? Jesus Christ
It's not only Team Ninja. With the notable exception of From Software, bad (or lackluster) level design is a feature of most of japanese games. They basically never evolved since 2000.
I think that despite the general ugliness of this game is still better than Babylon's fall and at least the gameplay in this game seems really good. I give it a chance.
Coming from Nioh 1/2 this looks pretty rough
I want to like it but the graphics. Oh the graphics.
@@sloth9210 Nioh 1 didn't look much better on the ps4 or Pro. The ps5 version did polish it.
I know it's unfair to compare a ps4 version with an upcoming ps5 game but I like the combat more + the jobs combined with it.
I love Nioh 1 and 2, especially 1s DLCs and I love Final Fantasy in general. So this game is a must have for me.
I had about 250 - 300 hours in both Nioh titles (also had both titles on the ps4, Pro & the new PS5 versions) and I'm already 13 hours into the Final Fantasy demo, just to clarify.
Then you buy it. 😝
I'll give it a chance to, but that means wait for a massive sale, game pass, gold free play days, or some other deal on Steam, xbox, or whatever. It looks nice and I like the idea behind it, but I'm not about to commit 60+ dollars for it
You can hold triangle and move the cursor up and down to select everything you pass. It's so much faster. Also you can target magic by targeting enemies with r3
Not to mention you can use the "filter" option. I got everyone's gear to 25 in the demo, reached 500 items, sorted by level, filtered and selected all weapons, unchecked equipped gear and everything 22 and higher, then dismantled. Did the same for armor and suddenly I had 109 items and a lot of crafting mats in less than 1 minute. This was way faster than Nioh 1 and 2 dismantling where I would spend around 10 minutes in the menu.
@@mathewboyd6375 is wierd since I watched matty review the game and he said there was no sorting. so guessing he may have missed it.
@@sumireravenclaw8034 Yeah just checked again to confirm R3 on the menu where you select the type of gear you want. Cycles through new, physical attack, magic attack, equipment level, job affinity, and type. You can also show all the weapons by scrolling with L2 and R2 to different categories of weapons. If you want all weapons there is a grid icon on that bar so you see all of the weapons instead of just 1 category. Another fun fact is if you save a preset (under main menu on world map or menu at save point) it has an icon that looks like 2 small diamonds to let you know it is a piece of equipment in a preset. I always lock what I am using to make sure if I purge everything, the important things say. Also this is a long response, but I just wanted to be thorough.
@@mathewboyd6375 I don't know about Nioh 1 but in 2 you had the options to filter extensively as well. Its super convenient.
@@SaumitraBose there were more variables to look for though, and looking for something that fits your build gets a little tough. I get rid of the low tier gear, keep some + level gear to buff others, and look at stats as well as buffs such as set gear bonus and star buffs that you can't normally get. It is fun, but it takes a long time to go through. I love those games, but so many variables takes more time and I know more time means you take your build more seriously
1:22 Pirates did use axes a lot because they were pretty useful in multiple situations when pirating, specially when a lot of wood is involved.
U can select multiple items with triangle. I select all items 2 levels below me and break them down. Takes 30 seconds
If you hold triangle and move up or down it will select everything you pass
I’ve been having this same frustration with Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition on Switch. And like this edgy Final Fantasy game, it does have a “quick sell” button for no-longer-useful items that are just increasing the time I spend in menus, but I guess I was afraid of accidentally selling something I DO need.
Thanks for the tip, even if I plan to use it for a completely different game! …Although the Xenoblade franchise as a whole seems to find millions of other ways to waste my limited free time. I’m pretty much only playing it until something more to my tastes comes along and to make sure I don’t waste my rest time by doing more work.
The combat is strangely very good. It has this particular groove to it that's very enjoyable and compels you to keep playing.
Agreed
Call me crazy, but after seeing all these open world games, I’m glad to see a game with more contained spaces. I enjoyed the demo, but may wait on a sale for this one.
it doesn't have to be open world game to have a open-ended design or bigger scenarios. Those levels look like a gameplay camera nightmare
I'll always prefer straight forward linear games so I really enjoyed the demo.
Yeah, I'm kinda sad that with all the praise Elden Ring received, Souls games will probably not go back to closed spaces level design.
@@nimazsheik5152 I actually refunded it because the highly curated level and encounter design just wasn't there.
@@MauricioPlaza it’s not too bad until the game actually throws more than 10 enemies at you at once
Team Ninja really are the best at combat systems, deep and varied, fast and frenetic.
-_- bro.....thats what makes this game even worse its the worse team ninja has ever done combat so thats not a good thing team ninja should whip themselves
🧢
@@joshuaknox2724 The video seems to disagree, and it's definitely not as bad as Ninja Gaiden 3 from anything I'm seeing.
"The Best"? Lol that is very subjective, imo they have not release anything good enough to be considered for that title.
Platinum Games (specifically Hideki Kamiya) is the best. Team Ninja is definitely second-best.

The combat and flow and loot really reminds me of nioh. And I think that can be a really good thing for it
I hope they fix the actual difference between performance and resolution as of now it does not feel like it, on a PS5 just mind blowing but highly agree the gameplay is top-notch for sure., no idea if they are saving the upgrades for the DLCs, but I'll say with sales may push upgrades sooner than later for sure.
It looked ugly as hell on PS5 and i was playing on resolution mode too, gotta give the PC version a shot.
That's why series x reigns supreme 😂🤣
@@RealUndeadx cannot wait to read about this XSX review oh wait DF will have a better answer not a bot 🤷🏾♂️
the combat is really fun but the graphics and the level design really hurt this for me.. and the hairs on cutscenes my god those are an eyesore
Y the level design tho ?
It's not really that bad so faf
I'm only getting this for combat and job system, the combat was so fun during the demo and it left me wanting more. Idc much for graphics, as long as it's playable it doesn't bother me much.
The thing I'm most looking forward is for the dialogue if it is like the one in the Demo for the rest of the game I'm happy.
That ps2 kinda writing is what i am hoping for in this game
That ps2 kinda writing is what i am hoping for in this game
That would be... Phenomenal
Much earlier than I expected. I think if you have battles every two feet, it's better to just have the level music be battleish, or have the level music build up during battles or something.
I feel like they should have gone with a battle theme that seamlessly rises out of the area theme, then recedes once the battle is over. The music never stops playing or hard cuts into a change, it just rises and falls with the action. They did something like that in Drakengard 3 and it worked quite well.
@@SkaerKrow Exactly. There's a few games that I can't remember off the top of my head that have done this well.
Sword art online fatal bullet did that
Amazing Combat, Absolutely Bland Stages....well its more closer to Nioh than I thought. I'll definitely give this game a go though since the expreince from the demo has been such a blast and Pros seem to be worth it
Nioh level design is pretty good imo
Aww come on nioh 2 has good levels at least lol
This one is a mixed bag but a whole bunch of us are watching ... it's certainly interesting.
@@vVAstrAVv maybe I misinterpreted the reviewer's complaints on the stage. In terms of design I will agree that Nioh designed them well just that....the stage appreance seem to get blander and blander until sekigahara and the finale for nioh 1 visually the first area in japan will always be no. 1 imo
@@a..27stephenson Nioh 2 had excellent combat but like the OP said, the weirdest, boring maps to fight in. It’s your stereotypical Japanese areas mixed in with a little medieval. Nothing special. Disappointing.
People usually exaggerate when they say games look like PS3/360 games, but this genuinely looks like a PS3 game in term of level/art design and resolution (just look at how some of those thick architectural parts of buildings are just normal maps). I would never have guessed it was running on a PS5. Only the lighting gives away that it's a more modern game.
The level design is very outdated too and the graphics and facial animation did not look good even on the ps5 i tried the demo on the ps5 and switching from resolution to performance mode doesn’t make any difference graphics wise.I feel like Nioh 2 looks better than this game
The innkeeper Jack talks to at the end of every Cornellia story mission is straight PS3.
Nioh looked like a ps3 game as well
Horizon has amazing graphics yet the game is just another open world game with fetch quests, it's all in the gameplay not graphics.

"this is as good of a combat system that this kind of game can probably get"
Thats pretty high praise. I might try this game out then, if its really that close to perfect.
idk its like saying tic tac toe also has the best combat system it can possibly get
It really is great. They somehow blended in Nioh mechanics with Final Fantasy concepts really well. The gameplay is top tier for sure
@@boobalooqwe4687 tic tac toe is one game, not a genre tho
When he said "this kind of game" he was probably referring to arpg as a genre
@@boobalooqwe4687 go play darksouls and nioh before you cry
this is about what I expected from this title. I'll probably give it a spin way down the line. I'm still fully immersed in Elden Ring atm and will probably be for a loooooong time.
Wasn’t expecting an AEW reference in an ACG review of a Final Fantasy game. Life is wild.
As a pretty big fan of FF games, and snappy action games, I'm hugely excited. I'm not a graphics focused kind of person, so it doesn't bother me personally. I can see why people would have issues with the game, but I couldn't put the demo down. Replayed it far too much!
I'm not a graphics focused kind of person at all. But I couldn't get past the terrible and bland environmental design.
@@Largentina. Im not a graphics focused kind of person at all and I found the environments stylized and fun to play in
I think these people forget the originals were no different. You traveled on a map to start a dungeon. This isn't ff7 or ff9 remake . They to me tried to keep it the dungeon feel. Sure I agree with some stuff they say. But most complaints are pretty dumb. They focused on making the combat dope because that's about all they can do to keep purest happy
play the game, very good story and plot twist
I’m so confused. This game looks great. Maybe it’s because I started with the Nintendo 64 when I was a kid?
So in other words, the level design is.....CHAOS
Behave
Yes it is Chaos.
I'm still getting the game day one but I also 100% agree with you on everything.
Same. Played the demo and thoroughly enjoyed myself in spite of its glaring flaws, but ACG is 1000% on point here
How can you agree with him if you haven't played the game yet
@@dtanobo don’t know if you know this, but there is these things called demos…
@@EclipseHighroller yeah but a demo isn't a full game so I couldn't agree with *everything* he said lol
From what this vid shows, I think this game would have been better if it didn't have "final fantasy" in the title - the title set expectations that shouldn't have been there
I’m so getting this on day one of the $20 sale.
Lmfao $30 is a more realistic sale price atm lol
Definitely agree with the rating! Only reason I'm getting this day 1 is that it's so much fun to play with friends despite all the performance issues
Everyone's name being 4 characters or less from FF1 was a nice touch.
Sophia is 6. I guess you didn't get that far.
A reviewer said this game is similar to lost and will all tie at the end. I really enjoyed the final demo and messing around with the job system
The TV series? I'm in!
They really said it’s like ‘Lost’ the TV series? How is that?
Lost was hot garbage.
Not really a workaround but for magic selection you can also use square/triangle to cycle through them, still feels off but its an alternative to the default
Just checked and while not a workout perfectly this does help!
If the shills are hating it means its an underrated gem like Dragon's Dogma.
Have it preordered through Best Buy to get that steelbook, still gonna pick this up day one.
I know what the answer was to "Do we put the finishing touches on the environments then optimise performance or just ship and go get wasted?"
I watched a few minutes of a walkthrough and this game definitely looks like a 'wait for sale'.
i guess dark souls and nioh are both wait for sales
@@RinSazuki Maybe for you. What do those games have to do with this?
@@Hidden_lvl Team Ninja made the Nioh games and this game is basically Final Fantasy: Nioh
@@TheBlackKakashi Yeah but still two different games.
This is a Koei Tecmo game.

I played the demo and i really liked it. Level design def could use improvement but overall, I had a lot of fun and preordered it for Xbox.
Poor man's Nioh for Xbox gamers 🤺

The demo swung me after burning out hardcore on elden ring. went all in on it. loved the hell outta the demo
Same
Nothing kills immersion likr jack saying "i cant do this much longer" right after demolishing an entire room of enemies without taking damage😅
Jack was bored is what he meant
I may get it just because it's made by Team Ninja. If they keep pumping out games with that nioh-like combat, I'll always be interested
Usually, when a publisher opts to publish solely to the Epic game store, I'm skeptical to the game's quality. Publishers usually only do that because Epic does not give gamers the ability to rate the game. Looks like this game proves that theory true once again.
Glad to hear the combat is tight, nice review as always, Karack. I will deffo play this, one of my fave games is by the same developer, Ninja Gaiden.
Excited but after coming from Elden Ring and even NIOH the UIs here look obnoxious, hopefully they aren't that bad while in game.
It looks like a huge backstep from the masterpiece Nioh 2
Exactly how the demos made me feel; a good job/combat system in search of a better game to be part of. I'll still play it when I can get it cheaper, which probably won't be that long. Let's face it, most of us are in the middle of better games to play right now to spend any time on this.
Spot on mate. Deffo wait for a sale with this one. Elden Ring is literally taking up all my gaming time for at least another few weeks
Game development is absolutely not simple. I just wish developers would focus more on level design at times. What's the hurry? Games like Ashes of creation or Elden Ring are proof a large amount of consumers are willing to wait for quality.
Ashes of creation 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@Gloryclover You mean like every game ever released? Name a game that holds up every standard and I will go buy it right now.
Yeah it looked like a wait for sale title, especially when I have Elden Ring to still occupy me.
I had trouble following the description of the combat systems but he just seems so excited
I loved nioh platined 1 and 2 but that Combat just doesn't click with me I don't know why I realy want to like that game but ... idk
I miss NInja Gaiden, I knew they gonna bring it back with just added RPG and good story.
I just finished the Trial version last night & enjoyed it overall! I didn't think I'd like it at all when I saw the control scheme but to my surprise was comfortable with it! There's still a few things I don't understand but sure I can get answers online but I'm definitely getting it somewhere along the line!
Thanks for the info. Definitely gonna wait for a sale - or at least I have a large variety of people to multiplayer with
I'm impressed you didn't mention Dark Souls at all. Lots of people have called this the Final Fantasy Dark Souls, and... well I can see some VERY superficial similarities (targetting system, checkpoints that refill your health) but it doesn't feel like a DS game at all so it felt a bit misleading once I finally played the game... good thing its still hella fun in its own right.
I predict this game will be a hit among Nioh fans. Which means I'll probably love it.
Idk man. I like Nioh alot but this just looks like an easy mode Nioh with Final Fantasy spells
@@EpsiIonEagle no.... Its harder than nioh. But fair like souls/nioh. U will get good by the end if the demo

You could put 5 random Team Ninja games in a cup, shake them up and knock them out, and get a Yahtzee every time.
That being said, they always look like fun.
Lol. The environments look just like Nioh 1's😝 This is EXACTLY what I wanted. Now, how long will this take to platinum?
The real question: is Jack a real chad ?
I read that it was great for what it does: it gives you a 90s protagonist.
Im getting this day 1. Dont care. I love FF. And i love Nioh.
I would too, if I had a PS5 or good PC
That's why I get games at Walmart because they don't usually charge $60 pn new games. Mostly $49 when they come out. It's a good tip always check Walmart I'm sure this will be $49 :)
Graphically, this game looks both great and horrible, which made me realize: This game is the PS4 version of what Operation Raccoon City was on the PS3, as it was simultaneously gorgeous and hideous by 2012 standards when it was released. Or, alternately, this looks like a modern-day Drakengard game (that is, like a PS4 version of Drakengard 1 & 2, as I heard 3 didn't really resemble the others)
Preordered and don't regret it. It's definitely a good game. Graphics aren't exactly important to people who grew up in the nineties. The game is peak 2000s JRPG and I'm all for it.
I loved the demo. I’m going to buy day 1. Love how data transfers over.
Like MOST demos do? Lol nothing new.
But will it unlock trophies/achievements that most likely come from those first parts?
@@NotCharAznable not all demos carry over.
im playing this game and its pretty fun. just ignore the loot and use the auto equip function.
Yeah this is great option for most players, just the fact that theres difficulty options as well shows this game is versatile for anyone interested in playing it.
Yep once I booted up the ps5 demo and seen the resolution on both modes I said nope. It looks rough and grainy so this is a pass unless they fix that.
Hey kharak tell me bro, would you say this is a Nioh clone in a Final Fantasy world, specially when we talk about gameplay wise ?
Always the best reviwer i trust ! Keep up the good work dude !
Awe. I was hoping for Bloodborne meets Final Fantasy. I'll probably get this when I've exhausted Elden Ring.
Imagine a final fantasy from soft game
I love those crystal-infused finishers! Looks super satisfying
Honestly I think jobs were always the most fun thing about Final Fantasy combat. Like yeah it's cool having Cecil go from Dark Knight to Paladin in terms of story but what if I just want a whole team of Dragoons to be constantly leaping up and raining hell down on the enemy?
FFIII on the DS was incredible, slowly unlocking new jobs and more powerful moves was great...or just going with what's COOL. I don't care if there's the white sage or whatever for the best white magic or the stronger version of the black mage, Red Mages just look too damn cool for me to care.
It's a damn shame more games don't have that kind of system, yeah sure you get different classes pretty often but usually you pick one at the start and can never change it or it ends up only really amounting to what abilities you have at the start and nothing more.
Being able to adjust it so you can have whatever team combination you want is endlessly cool. Such as having one unstoppable badass and 3 healers to make him literally invincible.
Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award winning Heavensward expansion up to level 60 for free with no restrictions on playtime?
Well this day from day one screamed a 'Wait'
Looks like a fun lil' bit of romp, with hopefully some meme-worthy moments in there, maybe a cheeky plot-twist or two. But definedly not a full-priced game, absolutely.
Really glad they put a demo out, otherwise I would have blown 60$ on this thing. It really does look like end of ps3/early ps4 era and the voice acting is like a japense dubbed movie from the 1950s. The emtpy worlds and boring reused halways and caves are mechanics from 2 generations ago, its time to move on developers. Otherwise don't charge us full price for this stuff, when you have giant sweeping worlds like elden ring/horizon in the past month, this looks like a budget title. Thanks ACG as always, telling it how it is. Man, the resolution of the demo too was something to laugh at, I thought my TV was broken, inexcusable in the era of gaming were in right now.
Thought it was only me 🤣🤣

The game is still beautiful
It's on sale now. Only 25% off though 😕
Worth 30 bucks max lol
Fextralife and ACG scheduled uploads nice, should be very gaming informative day.
Chrispy? I agree 💯💯💯
Acg is the only one i agree and rush to his reviews
I'm glad it's a wait, simply because there's too much to play right now and I'm already way behind on time. Elden Ring takes the time I do have to play, and haven't even got back to HZD which I started, so gonna have to get to that after Elden. That's gonna keep me busy for a good while. Not to mention backlog.
So I'm kinda hoping for delays right now lol, it sucks having to skip titles you really want to check out cause you just can't play them all. Was gonna say Forspoken coming soon but that got delayed, works for me.
love the AEW mention.
ACG is ALL ELITE
all true but I am having a lot of fun with this one! Frankly I am not a FF guy - my fav would probably be Type 0 and Zodiac - but this diabloesque version is super addictive I cannot stop playing. Yes performance mode.. plot etc are crap but there is something addictive about this... Also the patch automated most inventory management.
Square enix really needs to slow down on releasing new games because the graphics are really rough. Look at the last game at the state of play. It looked bad graphically but still 2022 release date. We don't need ff7 remake graphics but just a more modern graphics would be nice.
There’s nothing wrong with the graphics besides the fuzziesness
Guessing you haven't played Nioh 2
I was posting on the resolution on reddit after the demo dropped. I compared it to the borderline PSP resolution and people were telling me it's something wrong with my PS5/TV because it looks good on their TV's xD
Fanboys, one and all
It’s does depends on your tv
The Nioh games had the exact same problem with loot. While I loved those games, the loot management aspect was awful. It really didn't need to be like Diablo in that way.
Also, the action casting of a spell user seems pretty good in this game, despite its flaws. Seems like the second-best option to the god-tier game in that regard known as Dragon's Dogma.
Having said that, I can wait for a sale. Still finishing up Elden Ring anyway, and I might even do another playthrough. Plus, I'll be getting Tiny Tina's Wonderland when that arrives, so maybe when I'm done with both this will be 30% off.
Nioh loot system worked perfectly from ng+2 or way of the demon tho
I agree, I love Nioh 1 but I never cared for the loot system. And I even platinum'd base game on PS4 and 100% everything on PC
You can’t sort through loot in this game
I might pick this up but I'm still enjoying Elden Ring a ton so I might wait a bit.
What a relief! I was worried I’d have to buy this game too. Looks like I’ll be waiting for this one to go on sale.
please be good, please be good. cant wait to come home and watch the review.
Fighting and mastering all the FF jobs are what I'm in for. Me and my friends played through the demo like mad man nonstop, laughing at the cut scenes and Jack' boner for CHAOS!
Oh, I’m really looking forward to the Ghostwire: Tokyo review. I’ve had my eye on that game since it was announced.
I’ve been loving this game. Been playing the demo for hours now on Xbox, I’m not sure if I somehow got the game early lol
I'd you pre-ordered the game, you get to play 3 days early.
if they have ff type 0 style of elemental attack, attack=fire, push forward+attack=ice, pull back+attack=lightning, casting elemental magic would be smoother
this game doesnot feel like final fantasy game.... lack of exploration, interaction with npcs, quest, open world.... more like nioh body with final fantasy clothing. I like final fantasy, I like nioh, but combining them this way is not what I personally like. Combat is beautiful, but sense of final fantasy game is not really there
Love your reviews, brother!
"If you ever you ever wondered if you wanted an arpg mixed with aew wrestling moves this reviews for you". Never thought I'd hear that sentence.
I'll get it at $20 bucks or so. Demo felt fun. It has pretty extreme edge lord protagonist but it has a weird hidden gem charm because some lines are hilarious . Full price will probably disappoint some but wait a bit and it will be good enough on sale
Brother it’s a Team Ninja game and if you’ve ever touched Nioh 2 you’d know they won’t disappoint at full price.
"extreme edge lord protag" lmao.
Not even close.
Make your own games then!
Everyone is complaining about empty rooms, meanwhile im glad that we have a game without clutter everywhere. Its already hard to follow the action of Team-Ninja games, why would you want to have even more distractions on screen? Gameplay first-looks second

Well, at least its better than whatever the hell babylon's fall was.
But is there enough chaos in this game???
I'm not surprised that the environments would be bad. It's Team Ninja, their level design in Nioh isn't exactly stellar. It's a shame too because the core gameplay of something like Nioh is pretty damn good.
Well, whatever Team Ninja does next, I hope they incorporate some ideas from this and combine it with Nioh to make something of their own again. It's a shame about the technical issues and boring level design, really.
Yea but that is the closest to FF1. Most ppl probably don’t remember how FF1 like. It’s not that different within the action part. But surely time will tell since dlcs are there to fix it.
Maybe it'll come to steam in a year, maybe I'll check it out then.
I'm buying it for the great gameplay and cheesy dialgue. Jack is refreshing, I miss the 80s action hero type. Oh and graphics is not my main concern.
I don’t get why people are saying they not buying this game all because of graphics 😫
@@jaygameelixir9610 they are myopic lol I pity em tbh, setting themselves back over vanity.
Graphics are basically last in my priority list. I still play some NES SNES, ps1, games etc. some of the best games of all time have terrible graphics. Gameplay trumps all. Even music is more important than graphics honestly. Sure graphics are nice but never sleep on a game due to graphics.
I just past the big castle in elden ring, and games just don't stop coming out -_- where can you find the time to work and play and go out, etc
Sad that so many people here are sleeping on this game based entirely on graphics.
Thats the whole fucking point of this generation of gamers who are graphic whores care about resolution instead of the gameplay.
I’m honestly more thrown off by the level design and atrocious dialogue like sure I could turn the sound off but that’s not as fun.
Exactly
Agree.... Dynasty Warriors never had the best graphics, but for what it was worth they were glorious hack and slash games. Personally, I was concerned about the stroy coming into this. Big shoes to fill going back to the earliest days of the series and modernizing them. And while it didn't feel triple A, I genuinely don't feel like it was supposed to. It was to tell a solid backstory.... Which they did, to a pretty good degree and dare I say, this sets the stage for a new remake on the horizon.
This was an experiment. And it really wasn't too bad a result. The combat is fluent most times and the music is good, albeit you can't really appreciate it alot due to combat ins and outs, but has the legit FF vibes. While Elden Ring holds my top spot so far this year, I can't give this game less then an 8. It overall was a fun experience.
I don't know why but I always felt the game looked kinda off very budget title feel then I found out it was made by Koei makes sense now the combat has a very dynasty warriors feel to it.
Great review and thank you! I was NOT a fan of this game when the first demo hit. Decided to give it another chance with the release of the latest demo. I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the combat and job systems are. The writing though..yikes lol. Overall I think it's a game I will enjoy. Gonna give it a try.
hence why we just keep getting garbage
@@joshuaknox2724 Care to elaborate?
I tried the demo in Performance mode and it looked like a PS2 game. :O Might have to give it another chance. Really like Team Ninja.
@@kylerobinson6102 Lol yeah the game really isn't a looker. Some of the environments I really appreciated due to their connection with previous Final Fantasy games. But if the gameplay loop and story can keep me hooked, I'm in.
Finally a sensible in depth review of THIS GAME because every other reviewer is so busy saying elden ring this and dark souls that and nioh the other..... just comparing stranger of paradise to those games for 10 minutes straight instead of actually reviewing it.... thank you ACG!
Ya I don’t think this game is even meant to be a dark souls type game😂 with that logic every hack n slash game is a soulslike.
