This video series is great. Hugely informative. I am watching in 2019 and my state just implemented Constitutional Carry. You guys really should consider updating this series to kinda go over some of the changes to gun laws in the last 7 years, and maybe even an update of your guy's 5 (or 5 each) favorite (and budget) concealed carry guns (I am looking at a Walther PPQ M1 for a new primary carry). That would be sick. Obligatory R.I.P to Barry. We love you and miss you brother. Keep fighting the good fight guys.
So proud to be a citizen of the last free coutry in Europe.. The Czech Republic. They have to give you a concealed carry permit around here, no questions asked (obviously you have to meet some requirments, like a background check and written test on gun laws etc.) :D
I'm from Wisconsin. I no longer drive through the State of Illinois. They don't allow a Wisconsin permit. I drive to the State of Missouri at least 3 times a year. All my money goes to the State of Iowa now. Illinois is losing the $3.80 toll pay. The gas that I would need to go through there state. Food from their restaurants. I ruffle guess they are losing 405.80 a year I've been going to Missouri and back for the last 5 years. They lost at least $2,000 from me plus they will be losing more.
***** I live in Chicago (cook county) and I literally drive to the next county over to shop or just buy online. I refuse to give the city any more money than I have to. I will not take part in the tax funding of our comically corrupt police and politicians and anti-constitutional laws.
Good for you! But now that they have a CC law, even we can drive through with our weapons loaded and are allowed to CC them to our trunks if we want to pull over and buy gas or food. I've only been to Chicago and its suburbs, but have heard the rest of Illinois is full of fine, normal people who hate Chicago as much as the rest of the country.
I should be getting my concealed handgun permit very soon. With what happened in the CO theater last night, more people should want to have the ability to defend themselves. It's nice to have videos such as this one to inform and remind people of why citizens carry and how they can do it in a responsible manner. Thank You for you time and effort!
Great job Chad and Eric!!! Already forwarded Pt1 and Pt2 to several friends and family who are now considering concealed carry options in the wake of the Theater shooting Friday morning in Aurora Colorado. I've been carrying concealed since 1989 and have tried about every type of carry with my favorite being a homebuilt leather paddle holster with either a Kel-Tec PF-9 or an Astra A-75L alloy framed 9mm with two extra mags. I feel quite comfortable with 22 or 25rds of 124gr HP 99% of the time.
I also enjoy the longer videos. Especially ones based on talking and this sort of thing. The shooting videos can be kept short, but don't worry about making long "Gun Gripes" or videos like this. The more in depth you go the better IMO.
Hello from argentina. Less than 20 min are just fine for this tipe of channel, because people are comming here NOT just to see you shot something of see something explote and move on, they actually want to learn something so its ok to make them closer to the 20 min mark if you have a topic that you want to inform people about. Just an opinion from somebody that likes this type educational - hands on - fun channels about guns. THANKS for being there.
I just wanted to clear something up. I traveled to Wyoming a few weeks ago and was told by Wyoming authorities that they have Constitutional Carry. According to the people I spoke to, anyone can legally open carry under the Constitutional Carry law, but concealed carriers still have to have a permite recognized by the state. Just thought I'd throw that out there. If a state does have Constitutional Carry they may not necessarily allow you to carry concealed without a permit
The sad state of Massachusetts while it allows a citizen to carry, you pretty much have to have been fired upon before you can brandish and return fire. What is the point of that ? I'll tell you. It takes the teeth out of open carry laws and puts the state back in control. By making the laws so convoluted and complex the state court system gets to choose to prosecute you or not. For protecting your own life against a criminal with a firearm seeking to inflict bodily harm against you. You the legal gun owner, go to jail for saving your life. How the hell does that make sense ?? And the low life with the gun walks away......and gets another one. It's a messed up state I live in......
My cousin was a manager of a little grocery store in NC and a robber came in and was shooting at an employee, so he tried to get her out of the way and was shot and killed. If he had his gun with him he would probably be alive today.
@@edyfofashow Kind of a ridiculous comment, dead is dead. At least he could have had the opportunity to save his life. If he didnt freeze up while another human was in the middle of getting gunned down and risked his own life to save theres, I doubt hed freeze up while trying to return fire. Completely stupid and unnecessary comment.
Great video thanks for uploading it. I'm from California where everyone is soft as baby shit and to many politicians are trying to take our arms away so salute to all the other states that still fight for their rights/firearms
A lot of the reason I subscribe to this channel is because they promote education and knowledge very heavily and that's important in any field, but especially firearms. If I take a bad photo because I'm negligent with my camera, no one is going to die, but if I or someone else is reckless with a firearm, there are plenty of ways someone could get hurt or die.
Gun Gripes lenght is perfect. When im in the States we watch them during dinner or lunch. The younger ones love Barry, and we find em very informative. Please keep it up. Best Regards. Trajtemberg Family.
I want to thank you guys for what you do and the good information you put out there. This video could not have come at a better time with the Denver movie shooting last night. Thank you greatly Paul
I m glad to see, that you talk about the most important question about using a gun so seriously :are you able to pull the trigger to release a shot on another human being if it comes to the worst case....Because if this happens, you should not hesitate....! In my opinion it s absolutely necessary to think about that before you take a gun with you!
GLAD TO SEE YOU GUYS ARE DOING THIS ALOT OF PEOPLE DONT UNDERSTAND THIS AND I WILL ADD THIS WHOLE SERIES TO THE FAVORITES FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO WHATCH I LIVE IN NC AND THERE IS ALOT OF POINTS YOU GUYS HIT THAT ALOT OF CONCEALED CARRY OWNERS DONT KNOW AND SHOULD KNOW GREAT JOB GUYS..
Good video guys....As a law enforcement officer in Oklahoma, let me make a suggestion. When stopped by a LEO, even if you do not have to disclose if asked, just let the Officer know you have a carry permit and that you are carrying a weapon. It is a whole lot better to let them know than having them find it by surprise. I am speaking from experience here. Keep the video's coming brother.
You guys are awesome, your channel is what the gun community needs. You are my new favorite gun channel, I wish I lived in the hill billy south sometimes.
It was not too long of a video. Concealed carry is a very important topic that needs to be discussed and treated very seriously. A change in mindset is most definitely needed when deciding to carry a gun.
Hi guys! SC does have reciprocity with several States. Following is from the S.L.E.D. website: (South Carolina Law Enforcement Division) Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Residents of reciprocal states who hold permits issued by their states of residence may carry concealed firearms in SC, but must abide by the restrictions in the South Carolina CWP law. Wade
I love how in the CC law for Mississippi, they specifically mention reciprocity for an Illinois carry permit. I think this was a jab at Illinois government, but soon we will have a carry permit. personally I wish all states were forced to recognize a carry permit from any other.
I got pulled over once and I showed the officer my concealed carry, a SAA, he said seriously a revovler and gave me a chuckle and told me to get a better concealed carry....i like revolvers...
Just wanted to clear up. South Carolina does honor permits from other states. Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming are all reciprocal states. Love you guys' videos, keep up the good work.
I'm from Chicago IL, and have been robbed at gun point twice at my work place's! Once when I was 16 years old working at a local Arby's in St.Charles IL and the last time was the one that really spooked me, I was working at a 711 3rd shift about 10 years ago when I was 21 years old and a guy walk in my first night of work with a bolt action rifle. Thank God they never pulled the trigger! We CC more then anyone in this country & I will be one of the first people in my state applying for a CCW.
Since last July in GA a police office cannot detain you for the sole purpose of determining if you have a carry permit. Unless you are otherwise suspected of a crime, if a cop asks to see your permit, just ask him if you are being detained, if he says anything other than "yes" tell him to have a nice day and walk away.
Last year South Carolina passed a reciprocity law that includes the following states: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
I really liked this topic you have chosen. What scares me more than being in a situation that requires a gun for protection, is the laws and possibility of being sued for the use of the fire arm.
You are absolutely correct. In my Eng 101 class, I did a research paper on gun laws in this country. I found evidence through studies conducted over the past thirty years that point in the direction of fewer crimes per capita as a result of fewer restrictions on guns versus an increase in crime of all types in jurisdicitons which tightened gun laws.
I just applied for my permit today. Thanks for these videos. I don't always agree with you politically but if there's one thing I do agree on, it's the importance of guns and their correlation towards a more polite society.
Same here, won't able to carry until my next year in college. But if you want to get a cheap rifle, pick up a Mosin-Nagant. You can get better condition ones, with accessory kit, at Article2 Gun Range and Shop for $125. I myself picked up an unfired 1939 Tula in pristine condition. Also, the Bass Pro in Bolingbrook currently has the H&R Pardner Pump 12g and 20g shotguns for $199.
Regarding South Carolina reciprocity; they do recognize Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming concealed holders.
Great job! I really enjoy these informative videos you make. I just moved from Arizona to North Carolina so I am learning the differences in gun laws from there to here. I do miss the gun culture in AZ. Constitutional carry was a hard fought battle and to be honest I was shocked to see the governor sign it. Open carry is very common in AZ so the police there don't even mess with you at all. In the county I live in here in NC I have to apply for a permit from the sheriff just to buy a handgun. :/
I partly have to disagree with Chad's last statement - If all guns were taken away, the government would not be the only ones with firearms. It would be the government and criminals because laws don't affect criminals. What would a criminal like more? To know the citizens might be able to defend themselves or to know the citizens are not even allowed to defend themselves properly. Love your work!
one thing all you concealed carry folks should know is that when a cop pulls you over (in Virginia atleast. i assume other states as well) when they run your tags they can automagicly see if you have a permit.
Michael Knauer very true. The PA cc laws and gun laws in general are a wonderful example for how the rest of the country should be. That being said, it's too bad the PA ccw permit is not valid in alot more states than any other states permit. No biggie tho if you aren't leaving your home state much. Now the BEST permit to have I've noticed is a WV permit for some odd reason. WV has reciprocity with more states than any other I've looked at.
I live in Pennsylvania, and the conceal and carry laws here are very fair. We have "Shall issue" permits which I think is pretty neat, and open carry is also legal.
here in MO. they run the plates before they stop a person and it shows up if the owner of the license plate has a carry permit or not so that helps to give the cop a heads up. I had to go to Chicago a while back and I didn't even take my gun because I know what a crappy outfit runs that state so I just took my chances, and luckily nothing bad happened, but Illinois isn't all bad,, they do have some good farm land..
south carolina reciprocates with 16 states. Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wyoming.
Banks and Court houses are also places where you cannot carry. Also, most states do no allow carry in establishments where alcohol is sold. With that said, some states do allow you to carry at restaurants that serve alcohol, like Applebees for example.
Here in Alaska firearms can not be worn into any establishment that serves alcohol for immediate consumption. As far as the blood-alcohol content I believe the limit is the same as driving; .08%. Other states have .01% blood-alcohol limit for carrying firearms.
In NY its a may issue state and u need to state a reason in front of a judge to carry conceal. The problem is that it stated in the law that personal protection is NOT considered reason to be issued a cc permit.
Thanks MTCown12 for giving the correction for SC's reciprocity states. They also accept Idaho as well under certain conditions, and they accept New Mexico. Sorry Georgia, but Vinegaroon1 is right about why SC doesn't accept GA's permits...I would guess that makes sense--kinda protects your state in a limited capacity, but still in some capacity. CWP courses and instruction offer a slight sense of responsibility and competency, but nothing's guaranteed.
I live in PA. a Shall Issue state, But I don't have a Concealed Carry Permit, I have what is call a LTCF a License To Carry a Firearm, which to me would mean I can carry either way, and here in Pittsburgh you can Open Carry Legally, but most people don't because we don't want people knowing about what we have on our person. So CCW or what ever you call it go for it, with Some Smarts and Be Safe.
To get a complete list of the concealed carry laws, you should get a copy of "Traveler's Guide to the Firearms Laws of the Fifty States", by J. Scott Kappas, Esq. It is considered the bible of concealed carry laws and is updated every year, so to be up to date you need to buy a new one each year when it is released. A list of what states each state has reciprocity agreements with is listed in the back of the guide.
A good reason doesnt always cut it unfortunately. My sister-in-law is a merchant for concerts in the southern california area. She handles large amounts of cash and works til 3am in some very shady areas. apparently thats not dangerous enough for the authorities to allow her to carry a pistol... Anyway great video guys keep up the good work.
I live in a town of a little over 7,000, I feel like it's a realy safe town. But a guy that I know pretty well just told me that a guy tried to take his car at the gas station and he had to pull out his gun. This realy surprised me since stuff like that "isn't supposed to happen" in a small town like this. That was enough to prove to me that is could happen anywhere.
HI is a 'May' issue state it sucks, the Police Chief decides on it and they have refused to grant anyone a CCW in all counties. You must also apply for a permit for EACH handgun you acquire which has a two week waiting period.
I have a CCW in a may issue state which is NY. How it works in NY is the county judge makes the restrictions and issues the permits and it differs from county. Some county's do not issue a CCW permit just a restricted, some require a course for CCW some do not. NYC is difficult to get a permit and forget about a CCW unless you know someone and NYC, you have to get a permit to own long guns!
Great video guys, the length is great, not too worried at all that your videos will be boring, they're always informative and entertaining. Thank you for that. Side question, "Why do lawyers charge so much to do an NFA trust for the purchase of a suppressor? " I just think it is insane that a piece of machined steel that is designed to protect the users hearing should be so expensive. So the price of the suppressor + stamp +trust = the price of 2-3 guns?
Excellent points, guys. You basically reiterate that the right to bear arms, necessary to maintain a free state, shall not be infringed. Hmm... where have we heard those words before?
Here in PA we have shall issue, several miles to the south we have Maryland. In Maryland (although a court overturned this it is still actual practice) an individual must have an active threat on their life and TWO police reports to back it up in order to be considered for a permit.
Its often not so simple in may issue states. "I just live in a rough neighborhood" won't cut in many places here in MA, as the local police chief decides. Some towns will issue, and others you are just handing over your app fee to be told no. In many place you have to have a specific reason, like carrying large amounts of cash for a business. Somehow, my wife and I both got unrestricted permits to carry, and every gun store clerk I've encountered here has been astounded.
I live in Cook County so you can imagine my situation. I'm going to apply for a FOID card sometimes next week, but I'm not going to be able to purchase a weapon until my second or third year in college. There's a bill to allow CC in Illinois, but there is obviously opposition to it. We people who believe in self-defense from evil should support this if we want a difference. If it doesn't change, then I moving immediately if I get a job offer out of college in another state.
As I am writing this post today, I read the article about the 13 people killed and 59 wounded at the Batman midnight showing in Colorado. When I went to my local place to watch it on IMAX, I noticed that instead of the stupid sticker on ONE door with a no guns thing, but now EVERY DOOR and there are at least 8 doors with this same sticker. Glad I was carrying and didn't give a shit.
Hey guys. Great video and very informative. Here's the scenario. I live in Maryland, very hard to get a permit. I work and spend a lot of in Virginia. I've been thinking of obtaining a CCP from another state that's recognized in VA and a few other states. (Examples: Utah and Florida) Would this be a good option or am I stretching it a bit?
In most states, no long guns. I also don't believe you can carry Destructive Devices (any caliber over .50), Short Barreled Rifles/ Shotguns, automatic weapons (no Glock 18), or suppressors (as if you could conceal one). Just about any semi automatic pistol that you can successfully conceal and handle works.
I'm mainly interested in a SGL-21, but what you mentioned isn't a bad deal at all. I'll look more into it, considering I'm trying to get a weapon quickly before the possibly of shit hitting the fan in our country. Can't own a pistol until I'm 21, so a reliable Mosin Nagant should suffice me enough. Good range, firepower and very economical. Thanks for the advice
Yes, criminals swarm to the highly complex and persecuted gun law states like a moth to a light, because they know that they will probably be the only ones along with the cops carrying guns. I agree that, "An armed society is a just society"
Thank you for this. I've watched many of your videos, and I look forward to watching the second part of this one. I have only one gripe, with respect, and that's your characterization of the motives of liberal politicians. In my opinion, it's better to not attribute to malice that which is easier explained by incompetence or naivety. I'm a liberal-leaning person, and I've grown up in a metro surrounded by almost nobody but liberal-leaning people, including some that have gone on to become involved in politics. None that I have met approach the gun issue (or any other issue) with the desire to control, though a measure of control is obviously necessitated by some of the desired laws. That's what laws do, after all - control a particular aspect of public/private life. Of course, there are also the bad apples, the corrupt or dishonest people that don't follow the rules of intellectually honest discourse, but that's an endemic problem on every side. Mostly, however, these are people that legitimately believe the government, and by extension the police force, can adequately protect you, that a saturation of guns among a populace increases overall violence, and that utilizing the democratic process is the best way to control the government - as opposed to the threat of an armed populace. They don't perceive the trade-offs as being worth it. That said, I respectfully have come to think that they're wrong on all those counts, which is one part of why I no longer associate myself with a party in an explicit way. I am versing myself more in the pro-gun movement's arguments, as I feel many of them are very compelling, and will continue to present them as a challenge to what I have begun to see as my colleagues naive views about guns, the people that own them, and the potential consequences of disarming a populace of law-abiding citizens. Best wishes, ~Alex
One of the reasons why I like my state is by state law there are only three places I cannot carry. the casino/riverboat, a school, or a government building.
States that recognize Michigan-issued permits are: AlabamaAlaskaArizonaArkansasColoradoDelawareFloridaGeorgiaIdahoIndianaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMinnesota MississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNewMexicoNorth Carolina North DakotaOhioOklahomaPennsylvaniaSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtah Vermont (does not require carry permits by residents or non residents)VirginiaWashingtonWyoming

You guys are freaking awesome, love the south and people from the south!!!
Kansas is now a Constitutional Carry State.
Too bad Brownback has run the state into the ground.
thanks guys. just took the training sat !!!
Great video! PLEASE continue on with this series! Would be a ton of work on your part but do a simple break down of each state?
I partly have to disagree with Chad's last statement - If all guns were taken away, the government would not be the only ones with firearms. It would be the government and criminals because laws don't affect criminals.
What would a criminal like more? To know the citizens might be able to defend themselves or to know the citizens are not even allowed to defend themselves properly.
Love your work!
one thing all you concealed carry folks should know is that when a cop pulls you over (in Virginia atleast. i assume other states as well) when they run your tags they can automagicly see if you have a permit.
Pennsylvania is the bluest state I know of with the best conceal carry laws...
Michael Knauer I love my rights living in Pennsylvania
Michael Knauer glad to hear not all blue states are completely backwards.
Diggin this series! Thank you guys for all the knowledge you share with us from your experience.
here in MO. they run the plates before they stop a person and it shows up if the owner of the license plate has a carry permit or not so that helps to give the cop a heads up.
Thanks Gents, Very informative. I wish we could carry here in Cali.
Chad is doing the ocular pat down.
Great tips! We'll be sure to share them with our fans and followers.
I conceal carry my 4-inch S&W .500 Magnum all the time. Recoil is light and stopping power is decent. It also carries well.
Chad is the shit!!! Always cool, calm and collective. Your the Man Chad!!
I live in a town of a little over 7,000, I feel like it's a realy safe town. But a guy that I know pretty well just told me that a guy tried to take his car at the gas station and he had to pull out his gun. This realy surprised me since stuff like that "isn't supposed to happen" in a small town like this. That was enough to prove to me that is could happen anywhere.
excellent video with great talking points as always. thanks Moss Pawn crew!
Moss pawn is awesome, you guys need a show on the history channel.
South Carolina recognizes permits from:Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming
HI is a 'May' issue state it sucks, the Police Chief decides on it and they have refused to grant anyone a CCW in all counties. You must also apply for a permit for EACH handgun you acquire which has a two week waiting period.
In my state you can carry any type/size of handgun you want as long as you have the permit.
Born and raised in Athens Ga . Good vid
Great video. After what happed in Colorado i for sure will be carrying where ever i go.
Glad I live in Orlando FL! I carry 24/7 and would probably concider moving if I could not!
Very good video, look forward to the rest of the series
Great Video! This helped me out a lot about carrying concealed
You can CC in California-really all depends on your County Sheriff as a "may" carry state and your justification for the carry.
Here in PA we have shall issue, several miles to the south we have Maryland. In Maryland (although a court overturned this it is still actual practice) an individual must have an active threat on their life and TWO police reports to back it up in order to be considered for a permit.
Great video! you guys are going to save a lot of lives. With you valuable info!
Hey guys, love the video, as well as all your other ones!
I wasn't debating firearms safety, I'm simply saying do you really want to hear them go from fluent unscripted awesome content.
Yes, criminals swarm to the highly complex and persecuted gun law states like a moth to a light, because they know that they will probably be the only ones along with the cops carrying guns. I agree that, "An armed society is a just society"
I live in Oklahoma. We just have a carry permit. Once you have it you can carry.
Best wishes,
~Alex
One of the reasons why I like my state is by state law there are only three places I cannot carry. the casino/riverboat, a school, or a government building.
We recently got constitutional carry here in West Virginia.
Great vid guys. Thanks for all your work.
this is very relevant because of the shooting in Colorado
States that recognize Michigan-issued permits are:
AlabamaAlaskaArizonaArkansasColoradoDelawareFloridaGeorgiaIdahoIndianaKansasKentuckyLouisianaMinnesota MississippiMissouriMontanaNebraskaNevadaNew HampshireNewMexicoNorth Carolina North DakotaOhioOklahomaPennsylvaniaSouth CarolinaSouth DakotaTennesseeTexasUtah
Vermont (does not require carry permits by residents or non residents)VirginiaWashingtonWyoming
