    Excited for this EV. I've got a Mach-E on order and one of the main reasons we didn't go Ioniq 5 or the EV6 was ability to buy, as they're not currently offered for order in the state we live in. I'm excited to see the differences in what I'm getting versus what I'm missing out on.

      Same boat. I should get a Mustang Mach-E in a couple of months but the EV6 is tempting. I wish the Kia had a glass roof and a different rear end. The Mach-E is gorgeous and fun to drive but the EV6 is technologically ahead.

      Ioniq 5 or EV6 are not available in my state, fortunately I live only 2 miles from the MA border so that is easily solved. I am seriously considering the EV6 myself, but the Ioniq 5 and Model Y are on the list. Just waiting on my Bolt buyback.

    If you're going to check out the handling balance you need to approach a corner at speed then brake to cause a shift in weight balance front/rear and then get back on the power to see how it responds. The throttle should have an effect on the car's attitude. Cars set up for Korean conditions can be too soft, so they say. I like this car.

    EV adoption is accelerating every year.
    The number of electric vehicles and types of vehicles and trucks is growing.
    Electric vehicles are just better. No noise, no emissions, less fuel costs, less maintenance costs and amazing technology. Gasoline and diesel are OLD polluting technology. So last century.

    • @mamadouaziza2536
      @mamadouaziza2536 3 года назад

      Hmmm... Same technology that most ice cars have.

    • @4literv6
      @4literv6 3 года назад +3

      @@mamadouaziza2536 true, except evs we're first going back to the 1800s.
      Not to mention an ev has batteries and electric motors like any ice made today.
      But the ev doesn't require oil changes, emissions tests, exhausts, has so many fewer parts overall that would wear out and require replacement or maintence, belts hoses etc.
      And of course they don't give off poisonous heated fumes. Nor require fossil fuels to run on, which also consumes energy to find, extract, transport, refine, transport, store, pump into your cars tank. And then get burned at 20-30% Total efficiency.
      Then there's the average evs efficiency. That battery in an average ev is 2-3 gallons worth of energy compared directly to gasoline.
      Yet that same ev can go 200-400+ miles on the equivalent to just a couple gallons of gas. 👍🏻😎

    • @kens97sto171
      @kens97sto171 3 года назад

      @@4literv6
      If you're going to add in the emissions and inefficiency of drilling transporting fossil fuels. You need to do the same for the materials required to build and run your EV.
      And modern gasoline engines are not 20% efficient. Toyota's 4cly engines are closer to 45% efficient.
      And EVS are not as simple as you think there are a lot of secondary systems involved to make it operate. It's not a golf cart.
      Talk to anybody that owns a Prius. They have both internal combustion and all of the same electrical components in an EV. Battery ,inverter, coolant pumps etc. Anybody that's driven it Prius for a long time will tell you that the most reliable part of the car is the internal combustion engine. You will lose a battery or an inverter or a coolant pump before you have a mechanical problem with that gasoline engine.
      Totally agree with you that electric vehicles are the future. But they don't solve every use case yet. And they certainly don't work for every budget.
      And until you can buy a used Tesla Model 3 or Hyundai EV6 for $5,000 on the used market you're not going to reach the entire market.
      we're still probably looking at a couple of decades before ice is completely replaced. And even then they're going to be certain use cases where it probably still works better. But as more and more people go to Electric the cost for gasoline is going to get to the point where it may be prohibitive to use.
      Although jet aircraft are a large consumer of fossil fuels and I don't really see anything in the near future that can replace A1 jet fuel.
      Not for a large commercial jet. With 500 passengers at reasonable speeds.
      Certainly small private planes could probably go electric.

    • @4literv6
      @4literv6 3 года назад

      @@kens97sto171 you actually made some fairly decent point's there.
      The prius though is a crappy hybrid not an ev. Dual propulsion systems will always be less efficient and require more maintenance.
      The vast majority of flights in the U.S. today are less than 250 miles one way.
      Most airplanes are under 80% passenger capacity at liftoff. Those are easily verified.
      Just like trains are also actually already hybrids. The diesel engine runs a generator which runs huge electric motors.
      So trains should go pure electric, the fastest one's in the world are electric.
      Not to mention per metric freight tonne moved per mile, a train is 1/3rd the freight cost as a class 8 semi.
      Most of those semis are well under 80% of rated capacity when moving freight around.
      Plus the train is so much cheaper than air freight. It's not even worth mentioning.
      So electric and evs have plenty of relevant use cases already laid out.
      And of course electricity is everywhere in any technological society.
      You can't refuel an ice vehicle of any kind from a standard wall outlet. But you can with any bev. 😁

    I owned a 2017 Optima PHEV and was SUPER impressed with Kia's EV tech back then. I own a Model 3 today, but am not a total tesla fanboy and am definitely paying attention to the EV6 and Ioniq 5. Sadly, I live in the Midwest, in a mid-sized metro and the charging infrastructure is absolutely abysmal for non-Teslas (there are 3 superchargers between me and the nearest public DC fast charger!). Hopefully this will change and open up more than the coasts for more broad EV adoption.

      I think a lot has to do with freeways and major roads near by.. There are at least 20 huge dealerships here too that have chargers.

    One reason I pick the IONIQ 5 over the EV6 is the back of this car; It’s OK in black, but if you chose a lighter color, not for me. The belt line (the bottom of the side windows) is way too high; gives the impression of driving in a military tank. The interior / dash design is better than the IONIQ 5.
