The EV 6 is lovely but the utterly gopping white trim makes it (in my opinion unsaleable) - can we please have a version with all black or dark grey interior and door trim. They have wrecked a nice car.
Kia has made a BEV Incredible! A premium vehicle, with a very complete equipment, with the highest load power on the market, with an unbeatable interior habitability, with a very good boot capacity and an impeccable build quality! Equivalent to BMW, Mercedes, Audi, etc. Also with impressive features! 👏👏👏
Fantastic review - love the style, pacey and irreverent. Jesus Christ and Pikey 😂 love it. And an actual charge test. Good work and a lot of fun too.
Such a great designed vehicle. Love it. Now, I can remove the front and rear badges but I'll be reminded every drive on the steering wheel that I could be Kill In Action.

Coming from previous Nissan Leaf Owner it's crazy seeing 45 kW charging at 90% since that's usually the max I get at ever get with Chademo. I do think the Leaf is a very practical car for daily driving, but these cars are impressive for longer drives, assuming the weather isn't too cold and they let us pre warm the battery in a future update, which I think they will. I do think it would save you some time if you only charged your car up to 80% instead of going up to 90%, but 9 additional minutes isn't too bad if you just want the extra range before charging again.
Will someone PLEASE address the following 1. Published range vs real range 2. Actual charge times from 10% and 20% 3. Actual range when under full load…ie four adults, luggage and either AC or heat on. 4. Real world range when driving hills and mountains. Real world range when the battery is both freezing cold and Mojave desert hot. 5. Power station electrical requirements ie….220 v…what amperage? Cost to install home charging unit….etc.
GTLS RWD EV6 is about spec comparable to the Ioniq 5 Ultimate with the tech pack but is about 5k more expensive, which to me is highly problematic. Anything to reduce the lead time on the Ioniq 5 though for me, so yes, everybody go buy this instead.
ionic 5 far superior better looking magic wheels more leg and headroom much bigger windows better alround visability no cheap piano black plastic which ev6 has loads off and over £5000.00 cheaper in top trim

On the rainy day Ionic5 the camera was so bad you can see water on the screen because the Real Camera is standing out! But Ev6 hasn’t been seen. Come back to Ionic 5 again, it had noisy from the doors 2 front doors, for new car shouldn’t have it! Screen is poor quality the alphabet a bit berry! Ionic 5 was Very very disappointing me! Ev6 was no complaining at all so good then Ionic 5 EV6 really really quiet when you driving, and so comfortable seat , we had the other car that is Mercedes Benz E200d (2018) And I can tell you when you sit in the passenger seat or you driving that EV6 so comfortable same as my Mercedes Benz anyway the camera was not same quality but the other thing for me to complain was none! We bought EV6 yesterday! Congratulations to me 😂😂after we trying to go and driving so many brand-new cars for 2 months! 🎉🍾 hooray!! 😃
Weird wing mirrors. It's like the glass is smaller than the housing. Space for extra sensors or cameras? Surprised You didn't mention it. Might be just the prototype thing. Good video as usual Tim.
Well I don’t understand how all these 2 tonne cars will save the planet, nor do I know why they all have to do 0-60 in 2 secs surely more range would be preferable. However, it does look nice and I guess this is where we are going plus on lease 40-50k doesn’t cost much more than 30k on lease. Re reversing into spaces, I agree but when you go shopping ie supermarket surely driving nose in allows much better access to the boot where you want to put the shopping not to mention the trolley?
Range and power don't affect each other hugely in an electric car, it's just the added weight, the efficiency is basically exactly the same so it's a free win with the speed and helps sell the cars.
Love the review Tim. Great idea for aftermarket sound sales. Although it's a bit like downloading polyphonic ring tones for your Nokia 3210....... Bumflaps to manual
Of all the USB ports in the car, which one is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? I don't think all 4 USB ports are compatible, as I understand there are three ports for charging only, and a single one dedicated to data (CarPlay & AA).
Nice review, I pick my AWD GT S line up in 7 days time. A bit scary as I have not even sat inside one yet, let alone drive one. I went to see one at a launch event, but too many people, and still worry about Covid.
I have the Ioniq 5 (in Norway), and a Kia e-Niro and both of them have Android Auto (and that apple thing). So not sure what you mean when you said Android Auto is not available for the Ioniq 5? There are two annoying things with Android Auto in the Ioniq 5 though; 1. You have to use a usb cable for it to work 2. you don't get navigation directions on the HUD
What? Won't get 20 inch wheels intbe UK?! I won't be ordering it then. That's frustrating. Then again I'd order the GT anyway and that will come with the 20 inch wheels.
I have a pre ordered Ioniq 5 and also deposit on the EV6 both in Long Range RWD and I want the 19" wheels for better mileage, the purpose of EV is to obtain best range imho and the GT offerings make no sense, they go fast in a straight line but overall its not an engaged driving experience at all, pretty simple to mash the pedal, I have moved past that :)
I would buy the hell out of a Star Wars themed audio pack for a car like that... Especially if I could have the sound of Salacious Crumb laughing every time I overtake someone.
I am test driving the ev6 when my dealer gets his tester. It should have been in September but due to no drivers for the truck it has been delayed till November. Can you answer two questions for me 1 I have a dilemma RWD or AWD 1 When the charging cable is in the ev6 and the car is locked, can anyone remove the cable
Hey, I'd go RWD because in the real world you don't need the acceleration of the dual motor, and you'll get more range I presume. And I'm not sure, but most cars will lock the cable when the car is locked so miscreants can't bugger about with it
I wouldn't say it's on the same level as proper luxury brands, they will certainly steal some customers based on value alone but the attention to detail in luxury marques does set them apart; it's the little things. But when you can smoke a $300,000 supercar off the line in a $60,000 electric wagon, it forces those luxury brands to really up their game!
Well I don't think so on the point that a 60k electric car will smoke a 300k car in terms of upping their game. Yes BEV's can be fast, but it's still a Kia etc... When I worked in my brothers jewellers, he told the Rolex rep that this particular model wasn't great at telling the time. The rep said, do you think people buy a Rolex to tell the time? People buy a super car for the speed a bit, but also to show off. That's the beauty of cars or we would all get the same car if it was just speed, or the best mpg etc... Brands matter
I think you are missing a key point, that there are far more people (beside those that have expensive new TVs on order) who think that spending $47k-60k for a vehicle is way too much. I refuse to spend that much for any vehicle; whether it is ICE or EV. The "new world" you refer to is not the real world, except perhaps in your bubble.
Great review. I think a lot of people are here because they are considering the Kia and Hyundai side by side. This covers the nuances of both. I'm torn between the two. I like the sportiness and what sounds like the slightly better ride quality of the KIa. But I love the looks and sheer audacity of the Ioniq 5 for daring to be different. Tim, you are the L'enfant terrible and disruptor of the RUclips car journo community. Is there some kind of car etiquette or rule that stops you wearing a Honda t-shirt in a Kia review? I hope so. And I hope you continue to break such rules. If they exist. (which they don't).
Good nonsense. I came here to watch a DBX video and stayed for the electric Korean car (desparately trying to be a gold-star subscriber!). In the outro shot the rear end looks a bit Aston Zagato shooting brake. Excellent plagurism by the designers, taking a lession from the Roma team, probably.

I belive they've hired a lot of people from bmw, before bmw went to shit.
Fantastic review - love the style, pacey and irreverent. Jesus Christ and Pikey 😂 love it. Previously seen pretty much all the other EV6 reviews and learnt some new stuff from you Tim - for example I've been wondering whether it had an internal 3-pin socket (logic says it must but no one else has mentioned it), you answered that one, cheers. And an actual charge test. Good work and a lot of fun too.
Such a great designed vehicle. Love it. Now, I can remove the front and rear badges but I'll be reminded every drive on the steering wheel that I could be Kill In Action.
You’re a warm man. Love the review.
really becoming a big fan keep the videos coming!
Great review as always! The more I look at it, the more I like it.
What are you using as a gimbal?
I like the exterior of the Hyundai and the interior of the Kia, so can I have a hybrid, please 😂
Me pontificating: "Electric vehicles are ridiculous! There's no infrastructure, they're expensive, no one knows about reliability and environmental impact! They're-" (KIA EV6 Drives by)
Me: "Hello, hello, hello, what do we have here."
You have an expensive electric car with limited infrastructure and of unknown reliability.
Well don’t buy one then ho hassle
No matter how many times I see E-GMP it still makes me chuckle.
What a child I am.
I said E-GMP at the dealer day and the dealer said... "Yes, we don't call it that" 🤣
Excellent way to put it: re-evaluating our narrative... Too few people bother to do this.
Thank you for this video!
Greetings from Germany. Laughed out loud at 17:09
Wording approved by a German engineer :-D
Coming from previous Nissan Leaf Owner it's crazy seeing 45 kW charging at 90% since that's usually the max I get at ever get with Chademo. I do think the Leaf is a very practical car for daily driving, but these cars are impressive for longer drives, assuming the weather isn't too cold and they let us pre warm the battery in a future update, which I think they will. I do think it would save you some time if you only charged your car up to 80% instead of going up to 90%, but 9 additional minutes isn't too bad if you just want the extra range before charging again.
Thanks youtube for the recommendation. This was awesome.
Apart from that rear end, it is a pretty good looking car!
Will someone PLEASE address the following
1. Published range vs real range
2. Actual charge times from 10% and 20%
I can't because it'd make for a really boring video and I don't have the car anymore, but I'm sure an owner can chip in
Vids are class dude!
GTLS RWD EV6 is about spec comparable to the Ioniq 5 Ultimate with the tech pack but is about 5k more expensive, which to me is highly problematic. Anything to reduce the lead time on the Ioniq 5 though for me, so yes, everybody go buy this instead.
ionic 5 far superior better looking magic wheels more leg and headroom much bigger windows better alround visability no cheap piano black plastic which ev6 has loads off and over £5000.00 cheaper in top trim
iconic 5 is not as fast, less power than the Kia in top trim
Wow. DO YOU REALY NEED THAT EXTRA VOOM VOOM BOY RACER , SEE YOU AT THE LIGHTS.
Ev6 and Ionic 5 totally different Ev6 a lot more better, no people driving to review on the rainy day, but we did!
Ev6 was no complaining at all so good then Ionic 5
EV6 really really quiet when you driving, and so comfortable seat , we had the other car that is Mercedes Benz E200d (2018) And I can tell you when you sit in the passenger seat or you driving that EV6 so comfortable same as my Mercedes Benz anyway the camera was not same quality but the other thing for me to complain was none!
Looking at the 2 cars I personally would go for the EV6
Will the US one be under US$55K? I understand that they may manufacture this at their plant in Georgia, so would that drive the price down?
I think Georgia just chains workers to the bench now - occasional food, a little water - should drive the price down.
anxiousappliance If that happened, Kia would likely have to contend with UAW.
@@aycc-nbh7289 Are they union? That's good.
Very good looking car... this is what a modern Citroen should look like...
Love your stuff. Keep'em up!
Poor Volvo that got smoked lol.
How is it in the sound department with those Meridian speakers?
I’ve started to see a few of these head turners about town. Do you think KIA will be nice and give you a decent go in one?
Love the review Tim. Great idea for aftermarket sound sales. Although it's a bit like downloading polyphonic ring tones for your Nokia 3210....... Bumflaps to manual
Of all the USB ports in the car, which one is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? I don't think all 4 USB ports are compatible, as I understand there are three ports for charging only, and a single one dedicated to data (CarPlay & AA).
Gorgeous looking car
Nice review, I pick my AWD GT S line up in 7 days time. A bit scary as I have not even sat inside one yet, let alone drive one.
I went to see one at a launch event, but too many people, and still worry about Covid.
I think you’ll enjoy it just fine! Let us know how you get on!
I am going to order my Runway Red, RWD, KIA EV6 GT-LINE S next Tuesday.
Do I need a Heat Pump in UK?
Beautiful car!!!😍
Wonder how Kia feels about him doing a review of their car while wearing a Honda tshirt...
I’ve been thinking about the same thing..😭
Don't think they would really care as it is not a pre requisite to be shod in Kia clothing lol
The car sounds fairly loud, did you get a chance to check the decibels?
its noisey than ionic 5 because of single glased windows at rear
I have the Ioniq 5 (in Norway), and a Kia e-Niro and both of them have Android Auto (and that apple thing). So not sure what you mean when you said Android Auto is not available for the Ioniq 5?
There are two annoying things with Android Auto in the Ioniq 5 though;
1. You have to use a usb cable for it to work
2. you don't get navigation directions on the HUD
Sorry - I meant wireless Android Auto isn't available (yet)
Using a cable is annoying in this day and age
130 Kilowatts at 75% ! That is ridiculous! Not even Tesla does this.
What? Won't get 20 inch wheels intbe UK?! I won't be ordering it then. That's frustrating. Then again I'd order the GT anyway and that will come with the 20 inch wheels.
GT-Line S gets the 20in wheels
I have a pre ordered Ioniq 5 and also deposit on the EV6 both in Long Range RWD and I want the 19" wheels for better mileage, the purpose of EV is to obtain best range imho and the GT offerings make no sense, they go fast in a straight line but overall its not an engaged driving experience at all, pretty simple to mash the pedal, I have moved past that :)
@@kiddcisco Great. I'm glad you're getting what you want. I'll try for the GT, but I'd be very happy with GT Line S.
Got to 17:32 and then an advert for an MG ZS... coincidence or kiaspiracy?
Can you get wider tires on this? Looks way too skinny from the rear
Hallo, have you testet the Matrix light´s- is it better den Ionic 5 LED´s?
I haven't driven either of them at night unfortunately, sorry
I would buy the hell out of a Star Wars themed audio pack for a car like that... Especially if I could have the sound of Salacious Crumb laughing every time I overtake someone.
love it love it love it. keep it up and will subscribe, mate!
Calling the EV6 a family car is a stretch. I guess a Porsche Cayenne is a family car as well?
How is the meridian sound system? No review mentions how the sound quality is…
I don't think it's fully working in the demo cars, it certainly wasn't on the car at the dealer event.
How much is that model? it looks like a beast!
The EV6 GT Line S is around £48500
Kia is killing it now.. this is a better looking and driving SUV over the ioniq5. I'm waiting for new battery technology though. 500miles minimum.
Japanese and Korean cars are seriously upping their game. New BMW are so boring and ugly in comparison, but they still charge a lot more.
I am test driving the ev6 when my dealer gets his tester. It should have been in September but due to no drivers for the truck it has been delayed till November.
Can you answer two questions for me
1 I have a dilemma RWD or AWD
1 When the charging cable is in the ev6 and the car is locked, can anyone remove the cable
Hey, I'd go RWD because in the real world you don't need the acceleration of the dual motor, and you'll get more range I presume. And I'm not sure, but most cars will lock the cable when the car is locked so miscreants can't bugger about with it
Charging cables have always locked while charging since 2nd gen Nissan Leaf. I.E. ZE0 type 1 plugs can be removed while charging.
Tesla model 3 performance, secondhand with less than 5K on the clock, fully loaded for around £44K. Why would anyone buy a Kia for that sort of money?
The "new world" you refer to is not the real world, except perhaps in your bubble.
keep paying rent then
... you should 'patent' your idea of for the plug-inn Disney sounds. It's sounds a bit silly, but I really think there's money in it!
So no rear wiper too ?
No rear wiper. Why?
how are you supposed to load your shopping if you dont park the nose in first?
I liked your vid, and yes you are a warm man! ;D
Thanks Andy! I think the t-shirt was ok, it’s a Honda motorbikes one not a car one 🥸
The EV6 is what the DS5 should have become 🤦🏻♂️. Citroen how did you drop the ball so badly 🤦🏻♂️
how can an ordinary person afford one of these. electric cars are way way out of reach of low paid A2 grade civil servants
If you honestly think Disney would license anything for a measly 10£, you have snorted way too much glitterstim spice (see Solo movie).
the amount of starwars references in this is brilliant! 😂
I like the review because you swear just like I do lol. Oh and the car stuff, yes, that as well.
I have never heard Besbin mentioned in a auto review before today. 👏 🎩
18:07 -- Yes: Please do not murder your lycra-clad friends (mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, neighbours, acquaintances...) because you left late.
Absolutely this
man im waiting for the GT that can rival even the super cars like farrai out ther!
Best review of this baby, thanks. I've already put a deposit down on the gt line s awd in white. BTW, the headrests look to me like the aliens heads at the beginning of the 5th element. ☺... Subbed btw. ☺
