I bought mine from a local place, they said they got it a week before I bought it. Surprised it lasted that long. It is a fantastic guitar and is even better plugged in.
@@AutoScholarwithMrBI’m relatively new to guitar, I understand it’s an acoustic but is it en electric too?
@@ruin7954 yes, and I am a beginner as well. It is very easy for me to play. It is pretty quiet when unplugged but sounds fantastic when run through an amp.
@@ruin7954It's actually an acoustic guitar with electric guitar's specs.
😮 ❤♾️❤️ I want to play bass with it 🤪 listen MAW NO AMP
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Perfect guitar for when you need at least 15 natural harmonic notes per beat.
Lol😂
Well... if you can grab them,
then I would use them ! 😮
🆗😎🆒
You mean amplitude ye?
@enriqueamaya3883 already did!
Directly from the hands of the most "note by note edited, non acustic and anti nylon guitar player ever born"
Fun fact: Ibanez initially declined Tim’s request for the nylon signature. He said he “understands, but would still like one. And wouldn’t mind looking somewhere else to make one” and Ibanez said “ayo wait let’s not get hasty here” and made the signature for him.
Like a dude is really gonna be like "welp I guess i have to settle for nothing" when he has a pocket full of money 😂
Good for him, that's fucking awesome. I bet if it wasn't Ibanez he might have still been like "I'm still just gonna go somewhere else now" lol
Ibanez the company seems like those old and rigid corporation, but realized Tim is their money printer so they can't let it slip.
I feel like he would've maybe gone to Abasi? Since they seem to be friends and Tosin went through a similar situation except he actually left Ibanez and created his own company to do his thing lol
Well, according to Rick Beato's interview with Tim he did send Ibanez the Playing God demo and a bunch of screenshotted comments showing ppl wanting a similar guitar to convince them
The very same guitar commercially flopped 2 decades ago and they needed something to convince them to have a go at it again
Abasi was also ready to make him the guitar if Ibanez said no in the end
Yeah, I think Ibanez learned their lesson by losing Tosin Abasi.@@hotpenguin607
Tree of Death being shortened to TOD is cool bc Tod coincidentally means "death" in german
I think the name of this says everything you need to know about how influential Tim Henson is - he managed to get Ibanez to give it a name that mortal humans can remember!
Lmao 😂
don't forget about the JEM
Vai, Satriani, Herman Li, Petrucci and in the bass departament Gary Willis for example... They had big names already but Tim and i think ichika nito is their connection to a younger audience (aside from being fricking guitar gods).
Ohhh and thundercat and fieldy
@@sopainstantanea4887 Slash had a great connection to the younger generation too, I mean when he was Tim's age.
Every Tim Henson Signature should come with an item from his sweater closet. Dude stays cozy at all costs
6 mos late but this is gold 🤣🤣
I have that guitar. Took 4 months to get it but I’m in love. So inspiring
Took me about 9 months for mine and worth the wait
How does it sound when you play it unplugged?
@@Sharpshootingsz because the sound hole faces your chin it sound great unplugged playing for yourself. But sitting across from it while someone else is playing it sounds like a toy
@@TheAverageGam3r thank you for the reply man! Appreciate that!
@@TheAverageGam3r lol
I waited six months for this guitar. Received it several weeks ago. It is a beautiful instrument at a ridiculously low price. Plays nicely. Well worth it.
I don't think that's low price
Atleast not in my country
Its just worth as much as it should be
Not less
700 dollars is low price???
wtf, my guitar costs 200 dollars and I'm already broke 🥲
My Buddy ordered this a girlfriend and a house ago. He finally got it a couple months ago and I gave it a try last week. Super comfortable and clean.
"A girlfriend and a house ago". 😂 That's a great way to put it. What is that, like 12-14 months?
I preordered it as soon as it released and it’s a great guitar to have around. Makes you play and think differently.
That's what it's all about. An instrument that inspires you to think out of the box just by its sound, its feel & its look is a great instrument to own.
@@russellszabadosaka5-pindin849 * Outside the box.
A lot of these have problems with the bridge staying glued on. Seen a lot of people with that problem.
Repairing a bridge not glued on okay, that is a piece of cake. Main thing is degreasing body and bridge like a pro, and THEN sanding them like a pro, applying lots of wood glue and simply wiping away the excess glue. Ah, and you need good clamps. Go to your luthier. Or, wait a second, you just bought a NEW guitar. Send it back when the bridge is loose. A todler can see if a bridge is a bit loose, right? Watch if it is trying to pop up a tiny bit, there should be no cracks in the glue.
Ibanez QC has been terrible in recent years
@@voornaam3191 Would you buy a guitar if you knew that it had this issue and probably more issues? I won't.
That happens with majority of affordable ish nylon electrics I’ve seen
@hahahadracula no one is having this issue. Only a small amount of people were unlucky and that was a while back when they were probably trying to get these guitars made as fast as possible as they had a ridiculous amount of orders. But yeah I've literally seen one person have that problem, I have the Tod10n too and it's perfect tbh
The idea of an acoustic being designed for recording by only having a sound hole on the horn for the player and a piezo with a preamp is absolutely wild to me, it's crazy to think that this is one of the most innovative designs on an *acoustic* I've seen in years
Not necessarily. Godín have been doing stuff similar to this for years.
Not necessarily. Godín have been doing stuff similar to this for years.
Yes, and godins.... waaaay better. Absolutely killer quality control
Mmhmm, and how much is a similarly spec-ed Godin going to cost me?
@@russellszabadosaka5-pindin849 on reverb, excellent condition and waaay better are, around 900
Ibañez has been Ibanez since forever. That's why you see all time legends playing Ibanez from Vai to Satriani to Petrucci and then some.. Glad they got awesome acoustics again and mad respects to young blood legends Polyphia who brought the acoustic side back.
Petrucci left Ibanez ages ago lol
How did Poo-lifia bring acoustics back? Acoustics have never been away!
I’ve had mine for a few months now. I’m a classical player trying to get back into electric again now that I’m out of college. While the tone isn’t as nice as my Cordoba, this guitar makes playing fast arpeggios and licks much easier. The guitar is also super easy to just pick up and play and it’s hard to stop playing it. I love this guitar
I have one, kicks ass
how much was it
@@babyillinois199$700, says in the video. Although, price could vary slightly depending on where you get it.
@@babyillinois199 I know this is old, but in case someone else sees this and is wondering: The signature version (shown in short) is ~$700 while the non-signature version (no inlay) is ~$500
This guitar has me so conflicted. It seems like a great nylon string to have for bossa nova and samba gigs. On on the other hand, I can’t stand Tim Henson and don’t want to always be reminded that I have his signature guitar lmao
The FRH10N sounds like the guitar you want then haha. Electronics aren’t as extensive, but it looks great and it’s a little nicer on the wallet, too.
As someone who cant stand polyphia or tim Henson, ill just stick with my solar guitar
Can confirm. The FRH10N is the same thing without the Tim Hensones. I likes the FRH more mainly because it doesn't have an onboard eq (less toying around with knobs and faders)
my friend has one, as someone who plays both electric and classical it's honestly really weird. it feels like i just put nylon strings on one of those fender acoustasonics, but it's so much better for playing live
I put nylon strings on my fender acoustasonic and love it - still sounds great acoustic but sounds sooo much better now when I plug it in
I wish they’d make a version of this with steel strings, I’d buy it in a heart beat if they did
cool video, told me everything i've wanted to know without wasting my time. narrator's voice is also really pleasant to listen to
The internet says polyphia is sooo popular, but in the real world, I don't know a single person who has even heard of them. They're a band for people who play guitar 😅
Yeah, I mean there's almost none of my coworkers that knows Elden Ring (last year's game of the year), Ninja (a popular streamer, which I myself do not know), or Vineta Sareika-Völkner (the most popular violinist right now). Still, the fact that they're popular cannot be denied.
@@asimhussain8716who can't write actual songs. Let's all buy another album of Lydian legato runs. I'll stick to guitar players that groove.
@@matthazelby506 Low skill hater. Polyphia doesn't even do many Lydian runs or use legato, more pentatonic and hybrid picked, and if you earnestly think stuff like the Icronic ending or 40oz doesn't groove, you have no taste.
@@matthazelby506 If you don't hear the groove in their song "Saucy", you might actually be deaf.
@@tiramusiso you're coworkers aren't children. Got it.
This is like a copy of my Godin A6. Steel string. I love the BALLS this design allows.
Just ordered one of these new on reverb for market price- it arrives tomorrow. Couldn’t be more excited!!
My local gc had ONE of the Tim hensons, and ONE of the standard ones. The Tim Henson was on the top rack, and the standard was one below it. The standard played great, but I didn’t get to try the other one.
Looks like it's really fitting and easy to play. As an Ibanez customer, I'm tempted.
I knew Tim Hennson created the Muppets but I had no idea he was a guitar player that rated his own model. Too bad they did do this for him when he was alive. The Muppets are still cool.
Animal! Animal!
Just got one of these two weeks ago and I love it.
I got an aeg50n 4 months ago. Best guitar in the fleet I've got.
A student just brought one in, very cool. Good inexpensive alternative to the Godin nylons.
Are the Godins over a $ grand?
Amazing value for an amazing guitar, would buy it again and again and again
Tried this TOD10N last week. Its damn amazing and clean. So easy to play on it.
Mine just shipped. Can’t wait
its affordable for what it is, a pretty good all arounder from beginner to upper intermediate players. After a good setup, plays like a dream. I'd just expect more quality control from Ibanez though, there are some inconsistencies. Worth the price, especially second hand.
Great review. Short and gets right to the point.
It's also very appealing to the eyes. That design is slick af. 🔥
Ibanez makes awesome instruments, I would like to try one of these.
I've made a living playing nothing but Ibanez for 30 years and I don't have a single complaint.
@@scottbubb2946 Sweet! I now have 4 RGs, and a fifth I'm building from parts, as well as an SR405 5 string bass.
Personally i think the flat and super wide fingerboard of a traditional nylon string guitar is what makes them so good and somewhat superior to electrics. Then again i have sausage fingers and have always had trouble playing arpeggios clean on electrics so 🤷🏽♂️
I have the Ibanez FR series from 2014. It's the exact same body shape
The bottom cutaway is more rounded. But they are similar
Hutchins Guitars made a very similar entry level hybrid model around 2008(?). I got one for about £150 and is now the guitar I naturally pick up to play! I’ve been debating this Ibanez for an upgrade.
Ibanez has some crazy nice guitars, I had an art core semi hollow body, one of the nicest guitars I've had. I would compare it with any top of the line I 've played
Thanks for featuring some cool guitars. I don’t think I’d risk staying the bindings with grass even just having them potentially get moisture from the grass and ground.
Hoping to see a full video soon
Of what?
@@tjbaileymusic Take a wild guess
Mine comes in today. Glad I ordered back in March 😅
😮😮😮Wow such an amazing classical look a like electric guitar good job iBanez☝️👍👏👏👏
The “downgraded one” has an Ibanez t bridge which is a much more stable under saddle piezo. The softness of the sonicore piezo wire leads to issues with string height whenever I set them up. They work in true classical with high action. But if your gonna go flamenco set up for a that feel the t bar is the one you want. Also nylons are picky and love to shift so just make sure you keep it properly humidified. I love both of these guitars ima. Lefty so I had to go to school to build and repair instruments. The lefty’s just came out. If you are an experienced nylon player and are have ridiculous amounts of money go for Godin Multiac. They have many different versions with slight variations for righty’s from flamenco flat fingerboards to ones like this just with much better build quality and electronics.
I've tried a bunch of electric nylons looking for a good one to buy. This was no joke, the cheapest and best feeling guitar of the 20 or so that I tested in multiple guitar stores.
Most of the Nylons were in the $1500-$2000 USD range. They all had a gloss finish on the neck which I despised. They also all had a similar wood and color that made them look like every other nylon guitar ever. Some had interesting sound hole designs, but they were boring. This Nylon was half their price, didn't have a gloss finish, and also sounded the best plugged in.
Beautiful guitar i almost ended up with but got the Cordoba stage instead. I played both and the Cordoba had a bit more clarity and brightness to my ear unplugged
This is great but I prefer Harley Benton’s version the Nashville NT custom
Looks cool, haven’t had a chance to play it yet! Wonder how easy it is to upgrade the electronics in the HB if you wanted to 🤔
You’re so full of shit.
Local shop near just got one if these in and it plays like a dream
I love Ibanez guitars. I 2 of them
Does nobody else remember yngwie malmsteen had a nylon string strat back in the 90s that is super rare but this is not a new idea
Would love to see a steel string with a similar design, but bigger like a parlor and a real sound hole. I still want this one though
Got mine and I loooooove it
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
I just got mine a week ago and omg it sounds soooo good and has a very different tone from my ibanez artwood
I bought one a few months ago ... I like it
Beautiful. A dream guitar of sorts.
Got mine last year. I wasn't a huge fan of the gold hardware so I changed out the tuners to an aged brass. I'm still looking for strap pegs that match. Other than that it's a great guitar for the price.
I think, Marcin has one like this too. Beautiful instrument & classic styling, nice sound. I see no negatives there~ all good!
🤗🆗😎🆒🎸🎼
I have one coming in the mail literally right now...
Like a Chet Atkins…Pretty cool, nice to see guitars like this being used by new generations of players!
When I first saw Tim using the prototypes of this guitar, I scoured the net trying to find it but to no avail. I wasn't alone though and I was pretty sure that it was an Ibanez so we came to the conclusion that it must have been an unreleased signature.
We weren't ready for the reveal at all. Bruh I probably will never get my hands on this beauty.
Si. I would like one of those rather than my full body nylon string
I loved it the moment I seen it in ichika nito video. It makes classical guitars look like drawn by a kid
Just got mine.
Isn’t the Tree of Death based of Steve Vai’s Tree of Life?
Tim’s is basically a rose and Steve’s are vines (i think),
Pretty neat that Tim did that as he definitely did that as a tribute to Vai.
Still heavily considering that one
Don't wait too long. WTBEEP are you waiting for? Ever heard about inflation? Ever heard about things getting twice as expensive, simply because the entire WORLD is wanting to buy this? Out of stock, sir! That is what's going on, here. You have missed the chance of buying a low serial number. All you will get is... what are you waiting for? You don't really want this guitar. No, you don't. You will buy something less beautiful. Or you will buy nothing at all. Educated guess, you think far too long, you won't buy a new guitar within ten years. Sorry, but you ask for this.
My daughter just gave me the Axe Heaven version of this guitar.
I bought my Cordoba GK a while ago but this will be my next one
Mine should be here on Wednesday finally!!!
There's an old Fender(?) Guitar that is a solid strat but with a piezo bridge and nylon strings. So cool, almost none made
I love the design
I almost had this guitar, but ended up with a Schecter guitar after not wanting to wait 6 months for the back order and being convinced i don’t need a 5th guitar😢. I neeeed itttttt
sounds pretty nice.
It s so confortable
It s a non Weight guitar.
also optional plug
x3
Love this guitar
Everyone wants to be Polyphia.
I would. If I could. Once I heard them, I switched to bass... then I saw Davie.. so now I play triangle..
But then I saw a professional triangle
...ist? In an orchestra... now I play my skin flute and use my tears as rosin
You play your own skin flute?
Nice flexibility.
In my experience, Ibanez makes pretty good guitars. Def underrated in guitar snob circles
I know those tables 🤘🏽
and the ones Leslie is at.
Damn I want one of those 😮
I grabbed one. Sick guitar
i’ve got to get this
loved it
Same reason the SG exploded when Angus Young was popping off
The inlays would come out better, if the fretboard was darker. Just for the optic.
Nice guitar!
I have the non signature one and it's pretty awesome
As an electric guitar player of 16 years and above average fan of Tim's playing, this guitar fucks. Honestly well work the 1200$ I paid for it earlier this year. I've already made that money back as well, considering how much I play this guy.
If you can buy one, buy one. It's a phenomenal melody workhorse.
I bought one about a week ago. Legitimately my favourite guitar I own hands down. Just able to just chill, play plugged out and when I wanna chug, I plug her in 😈
From where did you buy it ?
You have the sales man style of the Dale Carnegy era😮
I might buy this, i have a classical guitar but i want to get into electric
Love the concept of the guitar. Love the electronics. Do not love the binding. Prefer the frh.
Here I am with my Iceman icx120 from when I was 13
Sheeeeeeeeew, thats a pretty guitar.
I need something like this for gigging (I use the GA35 Thinline...) but I also need TWO outputs... XLR and quarter inch (one runs through fx, other clean into mixer which the Ibanez GaA35 has). Otherwise I'd be sold.
What is the difference between this guitar and the Ibanez FHR10N ($499), besides the $200 price difference? I'm asking for guitarists that may not be able to afford the Tim Henson signature model.
They didn’t have that one at the event to try, but from what I recall this one has a more comprehensive electronics suite (I don’t believe you can adjust the tone on the FHR10N, and there’s no tuner). Then other than the looks, the build specs are the same
Sounds like a good tip to me, having a tuner in your guitar is a smart thing, but I have my tuner at hand anyway, I don't need this option. And tone control? You can ALWAYS update or change electronics. So, I'd absolutely buy the basic one, and maybe change the tone control. For 200 dollar or 200 euro less, you can get basically the same guitar. When this gets a collectors item, these 200 might be no problem, by the way. But just for a player's guitar, I'd be frugal and buy the cheaper model, why not? Well, if you like the electronics and the resulting sound better, I understand, the electronics really can make a guitar better. Then 200 dollars are worth spending them. Matter of taste, play and test the FHR10N, too.
@@agufish 🎣Gotcha' ! Thanks. It's perked my interest. I had an antique 6 string lute and I put nylon strings on it. I love the sound of classical guitar, even though I'm mostly into rock.
@@voornaam3191 It's got a really nice body shape to it. Looks very cool!
I tried both at Tom Lee (Hong Kong), TOD10N sounds more fuller and louder than FHR10N, which sounds a bit muffled. My friend noticed it too when we compare it, it’s noticeably different.
It reminds me of the Gibson Chet Atkins CE and SST.
Because it's awesome
Its a beautiful looking guitar
How’s the sound as far as unplugged ? I wanted to get this as a main acoustic but I’ve heard it’s better plugged in ?
I love mine so much.
Because they kick ass
Because it looks cool
I wish I could but I can't buy one. I once bought an Andy Murray model tennis racket and then felt I couldn't live up to it. This would be the same. Beautiful instrument though, no doubt.
