  • The Renault Zoe, one of the first ever EVs available in the UK, but from next year will be replaced by the all new Renault 5.
    It's a cute car, compact and nippy.
    Thanks as always to ‪@TheHendyGroup‬ for their help and support. For more info on Renault Zoe click here www.hendy.co.uk/renault/new-c...

    I bought my wife a Zoe last year, her previous car was a Nissan Micra .She absolutely loves her Zoe,as far as the regen goes after a couple of days driving in B mode the car automatically connects to B mode.Only downside is the curved edge on the door if you are a small person it could hit you on the head as you open the door.

      I still got my Micra 1.2; 138K miles with no engine fault - good luck if you make it to that mileage(cheap to run and insure).....no health and safety issues!

    My ZE40 has charge cover opening and cabin pre-heat/de-frost all from the key fob and from an app. False floor available to make the deep boot have a level load alternative. I thought the B mode simply increases the amount of re-gen.

    It looks a very nice car. But like other EV’s £30-£33k is a lot for a small car. For that price you are able to buy a very nice luxury petrol car. I am in the market for an EV but it’s going to be second hand I feel.

      Significantly higher running costs using a petrol car... My ev costs 2p a mile vs 30p a mile for petrol.

      @@floppledopple Yes I am in no doubt the electric car is significantly cheaper to run. It’s just the cost of a new one is abit steep yet with a lack of quality tech compared to similar priced petrol cars.

    This is a fine car..... problem is that when most people are in the market for an electric car they expect more than 'fine'. They want it be have Mercedes luxury and Porsche performance if they spend 'EV money'

    • @alunhoskins4513
      @alunhoskins4513 Год назад +1

      Spot on. Good cars or not, the manufacturers are taking the p**s out of us when it comes to price. I always get a bit fed up to hear the expression 'an affordable EV'; they're not.
      They're expensive for what they are but not 'as expensive' as the other EV's. Still very nice cars but there's a bit of a con going on with regards to price. (I actually have that from an Industry insider too, as if we needed telling). There's a lot of lost money and extra costs to be made up by the manufacturers and this is just one way.

    what do you think of the kids mining the cobalt.........to make the batteries ?

    • @malcolmfowler8972
      @malcolmfowler8972 Год назад +2

      What do you think of the kids mining the cobalt used in oil refineries to refine petrol/diesel?
      Many of the latest EV's now use LiFePO4 batteries which don't contain cobalt. So anyone who REALLY cares about the kids needs to ditch their fossil fool car and buy an EV with a cobalt free battery.

      More is used for diesel processing apparently. It’s awful, but not an issue solely because of EVs. The next gen of batteries avoids this.

    Sorry phillipa but more needs to be said about the charging.
    The "fast charging" of direct current is optional, at 50kW which is grand but no longer market leading, but the old charging unit was an AC 3 Phase and it wad truly unique.
    Only others who had it were Teska, and the Smart Fortwo FourFour.
    they could charge at 21kW at regular stations where most cars with +100kW DC could inky mahage anywhere beyween 3.3 to 11kW AC.
    It maie for a much more useful car, instead of a fast rapid charger DC for rare trips

    • @pjelbro3492
      @pjelbro3492 Год назад

      In addition the almost unique point about the Zoe is its 22kW (43kW on Q models) charging capability on a Type 2 connector. With a lot more cars using CCS and not so many chargers in proportion a free 22kW Type 2 is a lot easier to find than a CCS. This will change in the future but at the moment I'm enjoying competition free Type 2 charging even though it's slower. Time for a coffee break and walk the dog when we go on holiday. And that's the secret. It won't suit everybody but build charging breaks every two hours in your journey.
