I also had the pieces of my flapper valve break off into my muffler and will be doing this same delete. What a stupid thing for Chevy to install. Sounds great! How has yours held up?
@@keverado_z7129 Are you still happy with how the truck sounds see you had it on there for awhile? I have a 2022 Sierra that I put AWE exhaust system on and it sounded great but supper load…I ended putting stock exhaust back on and am thinking about doing this now. Thanks for the info!
How would you know if you have a leak? I did a muffler delete to my Silverado about a month ago and the silver delete pipe now has some black residue on the outside of it. Does that mean I have a leak? Should I adjust the pipe and push it forward more?
Isn't it amazing that we Americans are like... "Muffler.... Oh that thing, Yeah... Get me that SawZaw so I can cut that useless crap off so we can here the real sound of a truck." F**K that muffler." *2 Hours Later* Neighbors went from not knowing who you are to saying one of two things, 1- Damn that sounds nice. or the more likely one 2- F**K that guy and his loud annoying exhaust. I'm trying to enjoy my coffee. I'm the first one. Most are the second. Gotta sound nice though, Those little cars sound like crap when you cut the muffler off. I did it to a 6 cylinder mustang and it sounded like a crying baby having a tantrum.
It’s definitely louder then stock, once you get into 4th gear it quiets down a lot. With the radio on at a normal volume you can barely hear it at any RPM.
I'm awaiting mine to be delivered this week so that I can do the same. Can you enlighten me on the difference in retaining the flapper valve vs not keeping it? I have no idea what its purpose is. Thank you.
Bro could you make a sound clip of V4 mode.I had a Ram 5.7 with AFM and put in a super 44 single in dual out and when it hit V4 mode around town it sounded like crap.I just got a new Sierra 5.3 with DFM and was wondering for it had the same issue with sound in V4 as my Ram.Thanks bro
Get yourself the pulsar lt from summit! You can disable DFM, you can also make the auto start/stop default to off so you don’t have to hit the button every single time you get in the truck! You can also take off speed limiter, adjust wheel/tire size, axle ratio, throttle response, just a ton of awesome stuff and it’s all in-line and doesn’t leave a trace so you don’t have to worry about voiding your warranty. I just got mine a week ago and it’s like a totally different truck without all the electronic nannies GM puts on there! V8 all the time! Whooo Hooo!
I got my muffler delete done for $75 parts and labor. In Georgia though.
It will sound better with out the pipe
What's the difference from the apollo gt and mbrp muffler delete noticed mbrp is cheaper
I’ll be doing this install this weekend, and the 4” readylift. Glad you liked yours. Next choice was Carven Exhaust kit
Cool man, Ready Lift makes nice stuff

how is the noise inside have 6.2l
Why leave the flapper valve though?? Iz it better?? I seen where they cut it n it still soundz good!!
I didn’t leave the flapper valve, it was broken already when I cut the muffler off.
The flapper valve is designed to silence the exhaust… ie heard of some guys wiring theirs in the open position so it’s louder.
Keverado... like the vid and truck sounds mo bettah!
Thanks, I have to agree

Yup, love it, it makes driving more enjoyable and never gets old!

Truck sounds good! Im from the Youngstown area summit is like 45 min away love that place!
Thanks, it’s amazing how much stuff they have there.
Great video. Do you think you would have had enough pipe to cut off behind the flapper valve?
Thank you. Ya most likely, there is some movement in the hangers that you can use to your advantage if you do it that way.
Thank you. Ya most likely, there is some movement in the hangers that you can use to your advantage if you do it that way.
Do you feel it it's still quiet enough to not draw much attention driving regular.
Accelerating it will draw some attention, other then that not at all
Just reverse your cuts and you can get rid of the flapper
What size tires are on them rims. Just curious as to how big I can go.
275/60/20 which is roughly a 33x11
But it's illegal in many states, so why?
Cause it’s boring if you don’t, never was really worried about it being legal or not honestly
@@keverado_z7129 well that's a good answer! 👍
Do you happen to know how big the pipe is on the stock exhaust is it 2.5 inches or 3 inch?
I'm trying to figure that out myself did you ever find out.
@@chriscogsdell6805 3 inches
Do you know the difference between the AFE vs just a standard piece of 3-inch pipe?
There is 2 bends in the pipe, and the ends are slotted so they crush with the clamp
@@keverado_z7129 Are there any negative affects or con that you know of with just a normal piece of pipe?
Just the time it would take to bend & cut it, and get a good seal with clamps, that would be the only downside

How loud is it while driving from inside cab? Have a 2yr old and don't want it where it bothers her from being crazy loud

@@keverado_z7129 thank you for insight. I'll probably get it done. thanks for video helped a lot on my decision
How did it work out for you
@@brandonsharron7562 I love the sound now. I kept the flap installed and taped up the resonators on tail pipe end which I think gave it a better tone
Will that be long enough to cut out the flapper valve? I've heard both yes and no. Thanks!
It will be, but you may have to pull the back half in alil to have enough for the clamp to grab
What you use or how did you black the cargo light out
It’s in my 1st video. Check it out
Did you go with the AFE GT series? 3 - inch muffler delete.
Yes, part numbers in the video!
Sound leveling.

It’s to muffle the sound when the trucks idling or in V4 mode.

Sound is good.
500 hundred stops signs lol
