Was catching up on the Bloodhound LSR car last night, and it has a rather extreme electric fuel pump... The article cites two different fuelling demands - 800 litres (210 US gallons) at 1000 PSI in 20 seconds is the lower requirement - it also has 1 ton of fuel at 1200PSI in the same 20 seconds - either way, it's a lot and the pump is reported to be driven by a 400kW electric motor! Early designs had a F1 engine and, later, a supercharged V8 driving the pump, but it seems there are several advantages, besides being 'green', for using the electric option.
Congrats HPA. The first AUTOMOTIVE channel that I've seen using the new format breaking the stories down. I'm used to it already from computing channels like Gamers Nexus & Hardware Unboxed. I hope more automotive channels follow suit. 😁👍
Glad they popped up. I've been making an effort on the timestamps for you guys but I think this is the first video that it's actually split them in the bar like that. I think it's a great new feature, but like anything it takes a bit of time and effort. Hope you enjoy your weekend mate! Next Vlog post is about to go live too 😎- Taz.
Are the wiring/plug anchors printed in PLA? If so they’re likely to deform under engine bay heat, Andre didn’t mention if they were getting the Cnc treatment from the f360 models.
I'm not 100% sure on that one however I know Brandon has done his research regarding heat and 3D printed materials and has 2 different options here, so I assume he's on it. Will see if we can talk about that in a later video - Taz.
He might comment more if he sees this but Zac wasn't looking to leave, however he was offered his dream job at a University after the role came up for the first time in 20 years. HPA is 7 hours from home and his young daughter (meaning he stayed here during the week), so this switch to that role and being back living with his family was a solid life choice. We miss him, he is a good bugger, and if he ever changes his mind we'd have him back in a flash - Taz.
@@hpa101 Ah, nice move for him, and his family - I was thinking you put him down somewhere and then couldn't find him again when you needed him, that's how I usually lose things. 😉
@Gordo to be honest it's a while since I've seen him face to face so there is the possibility he's lost in a drawer of 10mm sockets and odd socks somewhere here - Taz.
For the fuel surge, and pickup, issue have you checked out the Holley Hydramat fuel sock, which is designed to draw fuel and not air through its membrane? It may seem a little pricey but if it saves money elsewhere... - www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/ - the videos of them in operation are rather interesting, especially the ones that point out that because most fuel systems don't pick up all the fuel, it's like having a bigger fuel tank! I noticed you've worn the apron for a couple4 of videos, now - has Earnest checked out the possibility of having logos or motifs embroidered on them as an extra service? Ah, got to the reason at 15:30 ish, like the "I liked the razor so much I bought the company" thing from a few years back - which was actually a true story, too!
Yes, we've had a chat about it but fitting it to this tank isn't just a matter of jamming it through the holes for the fuel pump so while awesome tech, it's not an task to undertake with out some work either - Taz.

I'm here for the overalls
I hope you enjoyed the video overall too 😎 - Taz.
That harness is a work of art!
Vlad does good work eh =) - Taz.
I can't wait till they invent wireless vehicle harnesses
Wheels look mint. What offset did you go for?
can cutting out the wheel spare compartment affect the chassis rigidity?
Given the roll cage and planned tank to fill the gap that won't be a concern - Taz.
Marvellous 😉
Awesome 👏🏽

Where did Zac go, if I may ask?

@@hpa101 Alternatively, HPA could relocate further north, somewhere near Keri Keri would be my suggestion Taz. 😁👍

What brand is the apron?
Earnest from www.earnestco.com/ - Taz.
Nice 💪🏽

Any email I don't have Insta . Cheers
those wheels are flashy as! you should paint them black if you dont want them to stand out so much.
Yes they really suit the car, glad they popped up and as far as being a bit bling goes, they're really on the classier side of that I reckon - Taz.
Can we get a link to the mentioned Insta account?
Yep, I popped it in the description there too for you guys. @grisom_13 is what you're after :D - Taz.
