Wow lots of behind the scene’s technology is ever evolving I have one foot in the retirement area of my life as a gardener these last 40 years growing up in Bavaria at the foot the alps as a child in my grandmothers garden a woman who raised six children on her own and instilled the love of the amazing outdoors in me Hense the joy of following your channel and free spirits… ending up in Savannah Georgia surrounded by the swamps was quite a culture shock but beautiful as well… stay blessed and safe

Subscribed a few weeks ago and been binge watching, so lovely to see a clean fun and wholesome family with such good values sharing your wonderful life adventures. You all exciting yet calming and your video content is amazing. My favourite family member has to be Lando ❤😊. But I’m appreciating everything the entire family are doing. Watching from the UK, originally from Africa, Tanzania, Namibia and Kenya my top favs and once you see a sunset or experience an African storm you’ll realise it’s something very special. Looking forward to more content of your adventures keep going and safe travels always

That's what we did and we love it! 😁

My wife and I love watching you and your family adventures in life. We also have a girl and two boys but ours are a bit older and we just had our first grandchild last December.
    We had
Lost our daughter almost twelve years ago when she was 27. She was special needs and we had her a lot longer than the doctors had first predicted. So we were blessed to have had her for that time. We’ve noticed that you have someone in your family with a special needs child and love seeing how happy they are when you are around them.
We haven’t had the adventures you have had but we have been in every state of the US and a bit in Canada. I was in the service for 20 years so that helped with the traveling. Also living in Alaska for over eight years and driving to and from the states through Canada which we loved.
Also I had mentioned my father was from Ontario but my Mom was also from Quebec.
We also have friends in Kenora that we have deer hunted with.
Sorry for the long comment but I just wanted to give you a little bit of what this subscriber’s background was and how much my wife and I love your video’s. You are truly blessed.

My son just had his first black bear encounter camping Colorado mountains. Bear came into campsite and they scared bear to leave. He does carry bear spray. He and his buddy took a hike. Came back to camp and bear had been back and shredded his new tent and bear clawed his car. Just grateful they were not harmed. He has camped many times in mountains. Thank you for sharing your adventures !

My only bear encounters were in California and both times, th' bear willingly left on their own. Th' 2nd time was in Yosemite, in designated camping. Sleeping, I awoke to a noise, and assumed someone was rummaging through our camp. I exited th' tent, making noise, lookin for a fight, and heard them run away. I heard screaming from th' camp next to us, 'round 25, 30 yards away. Shined my light, and saw a bear, sittin on their picnic table amidst a smorgasbord of food, while th' family was in their car, screaming and pointin at th' bear. I yelled, threw something, (🤦🏽‍♂️), and she left. I know it was a she, because in th' morning a Ranger was taking a report and he told me she was a repeat offender and unfortunately, they were going to have to put her down.😢

Good day, Derek and Fee in Australia. Love your trips, and envy you both very much. You have a wonderful loving family which must miss you when you both travel by yourselves. We use a Ford Ranger here down under, which are fantastic, very good off road, and tough. Your wife is talking tyres
and 33, inch tyres are the go, better on fuel better on sand and snow. Any way great show, have a Merry Christmas.

Thanks for sharing, my wife and I are missionaries, we started watching you years ago when we served in Eastern Europe, and actually got a RTT and did some camping trips. Just wanted to say that even back then, my wife and I continued watching because we felt faith was an important part of your life, and YES, we believe it is evident.
We are back in the US now, still in full time ministry, and now have an old 2001 Jeep WJ with a homemade trailer with the RTT and planning a trip to the UP hopefully this Sept. come on down and visit. 😅

Absolutely agree about the marriage advice! We always made each other and our relationship the priority over all others. It was obvious that we were each others best friends. I never even got the mail without holding hands for the 150 yard walk. Now that I'm unexpectedly widowed lonely sucks. I've had the best and cant imagine what is next.

"Not a Parenting Expert"? I beg to differ Peter. Th' values and critical thinking abilities and skills you've given them, and th' 20 yrs plus EXPERIENCE Y'all have, parenting, added up to 3 of th' most incredible, beautiful Human beings, I've ever had th' good fortune to watch grow up, listen to and witness their experiences as Y'all brought 'em up, proves beyond a doubt, Parenting EXPERTS... in my not so humble assessment.
    I've raised 8. I haven't seen a single mistake I made, in how Y'all raised yours. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Have y'all researched the feasibility of a converted ambulance such as "the campulance man"? 4x4s are scarce, but they're out there. 🤔
A pre-DEF diesel would work internationally.

Have you ever seen Dirt sunrise youtube channel? Tim and Kelsey? They had a 80 series Toyota land cruiser with a Maltec camper conversion. Check them out. In my opinion it's the best all around overland rig. They've switched to a 200 series land cruiser now though. Love your channel and all your adventures.

I was surprised that Big Bend was one of your favorite places, mine too. I've gone off the trail and climbed many peaks there myself. A totally different place than Big Bend but its next door neighbor is Big Bend Ranch State Park. Check it out sometime. Wintertime only though as you would already know. To me it is just as amazing as Big Bend but quite a bit more harsh. There is water, ice, and showers at the ranger station deep within the park. Be sure and drive the road from Terlingua to Presidio. Prettiest road in Texas.

To long, maybe a part 1 and 2 would have been better for me. I only watched about 10 minutes as the run time of the video kept popping in my mind. I've watched almost every video you've done. When I found you here I went back and watched all that I've missed before that. If I was going to be be watching something for almost 2 hours, I would probably watch a movie. Still watching though. Can't wait until next week, just couldn't go the time this week. Love your show, stay safe and looking forward to next week.

  • @chrisnewt

my experience, I agree... adventure vans are cramped (I own a winnebago revel) for long term... week or two in it, and we want a break. I have an Overland Explorer Vehicles Summit on order, to be mounted on an F550... they are Canadian made (and made with no wood) and have lots of options from very small to very large. The couple from @desktoglory recently moved to OEV campers. OEV's High Country (one step smaller than the Summit) just won 2023 Best adventure rig at Overland Expo PNW. I considered the Tacoma based Truckhouse before ordering my OEV Summit, but decided against the Truckhouse because with the camper installed, it far exceeds the vehicle's factory GVW ratings... and because of that, it can't even be imported to Canada (according to Truckhouse). Their new AEV Ram based unit should solve that, though I have no looked into the details.

Btw... a little more color to our history. My wife and I got into overlanding by watching your videos a number of years ago (thanks!!), and started with a white JLU and roof top tent... Then moved to the graphite blue Revel right at the very start of the pandemic. Next up is the OEV Summit.

Never had a Jeep - Did have an FJ Cruiser and did some serious off-roading in it. I did rent a JK once, and it seemed very tight in regard to space compared to the FJ. That said, I'd like to test drive a Gladiator.

Very interesting shipping your vehicle to another country, especially to New Zealand, isn’t that pricey and with assuming you took your Jeep, do they have requirements that you had to add or take off before you shipped the Jeep

    • @EFRT
      @EFRT  Год назад

The shipping was cheaper than renting a caravan over there for such a long period of time that we were staying. The only thing we had to worry about when Shipping was that the jeep was spotless, clean, as they are very strict about that when importing. We have some older videos on our channel about that journey.
Thanks for watching. Hope you have a wonderful day.
