I’m absolutely jealous that you guys are the only ones out there. You gotta love that and great footage with the drone. 😊😊😊😊😂😂😂 ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Good morning my beautiful famz❤❤wow so gorgeous and kinda scary to be by yourselves, would definitely be happier having the boys with you. It’s always awesome to see you my dear friend, take care and stay safe, love you from your kiwiNZfamz❤❤❤❤🇳🇿
I was born and live in Oregon pretty much all my life. I love it. I was born near the coast but live in parts of the valley. I have never been to that far down to the desert part. Thanks for showing it. I enjoy your videos.
Hello, I just came across your channel and I am enjoying it so much. This video means so much more to me as this is my home state. I now live in Ohio and your video took me back home. I grew up close to a place called Coos Bay. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, safe travels and God bless.
Oh my goodness my husband and I are October 10th also! We will be at 31 years! Congratulations you two!!! Ok back to your video.. I just had to pause it and comment on the same date!
What a pleasure traveling with you guys. Spectacular outback countryside. A vast wilderness with no ends. Loved every minute of it. Love and be safe!😘🤗🌼🇻🇪
My husband and I just celebrated our 40th on August 13th, you know some of us are so blessed to have a partner in life. I am going ahead now to wish both of you a long, loving life together, may God keep His hand upon you both. 💐
The tire deflators are some of the best trail worthy items I have in cab at all times. I recently improved them by adding the SKOG Chuck Mates Speed Clips. The tire deflators get screwed on to these speed clips, and then you just need to push them onto the valve stem, let them do their thing, and then press the lever and pop them right off once your deflator has stopped airing down. Easy peasy!!!! Your video was right at the perfect time, as I am heading out to the SE Oregon desert near Hart Mountain starting next week for some personal time away from the masses and do some solo exploring without my trailer in tow this time. Should be an adventure!
You guys have do such a good job with your videos. Narration, music, footage and your stories are priceless. I check every couple of days on your channel for updates. It's one of my favorites. Thank you from all of us for sharing.
Okay, that was an exciting, bumpy experience. Usually I have my friend Lando next to me just looking out the window in awe. 😊 The vast wilderness, with no trees in miles, the line of mountains far away.....just beautiful! Carol and Pete, thank you for this amazing adventure. Be safe, look out for snakes and scorpions. ( I'm super scared of them) God bless you and God bless Caroline, Peter, Dan and my sidekick Lando.
Really enjoyed this, such stunning landscape! Is this the famous Oregon Trail many Pioneers took to the coast? Looks like it might be, if so that is where my great grandmother's family crossed by wagon as part of the Metz/Manley party, starting from Illinois in 1850. Her father was a wheelwright, mother was a midwife with natural medicine skills, crucial skills needed in that environment, unfortunately they still lost 3 young children on this long journey with my great grandmother being born on arrival in Gold country California. They were tough people for sure to endure something like that in horse and wagon, just incredible.Since this is a trip with a romantic twist.... my great grandfather made the journey too but later on the first train from New York alone at 14 to work in a gold mine, once the rail was completed in 1875, a child of Irish born parents who fled the famine. The two met on the railroad in central California when she was 19, he was a baggage man and she was a Hardy girl in a railroad hotel! Happy 25th!
Good morning, Carol and Peter! How are you, dear hearts? Greetings from Florida! Is 8:06 am. Drinking my second cup of coffee and ready to go with you on this trip through the desert with you guys! Let's do this!!! God bless you both!
OMG, you stopped at Fields and didn’t get a Milkshake? I thought that was against the law. We stop there a lot on our bikes and never leave without having a milkshake 😆
Congratulations on your Twenty-Fifth anniversary. Your enjoying your life together to the fullest. 😃 Love this as my husband and I also have full filled our marriage of fifty- six years the same. We love to still explore in our eighties. That terrain was absolutely grandiose and so glad you didn’t have car problems way out there alone. Happy trails to your next video.
Your presentation is of next level it makes me feel that I am sitting in at the back seat with both of you mesmerizing and very nice 👍 journey. Happy journey 💖 ahead be safe and healthy.😊
Great video! I live in Boise and never knew of the Alvord desert. My wife and I are going out in October and headed towards the redwoods. Maybe we add this to our agenda to check out!
My wife is now full of anticipation wanting to know exactly where and how you met. We met on a blind date. A colleague recently asked me the secret to a long marriage. I promptly replied - Yes! I know the secret! Don’t get divorced. We recently completed a big west coast swing and agreed that Oregon was the most beautiful and is the place to which we’d most like to return. Love your videos, as always!
We live in central Oregon Cascades. If you travel the discovery route between Bend and Sisters you will drive past our cabin. I carry a Garmin inreach mini for our trips. So much of eastern and central Oregon do not have dependable cell service. With the inreach our children worry a little less when we travel.
❤❤ Was a thrill to meet you two at Mountain West. I absolutely relate to this video as I just did both the Wyoming BDR and part of the Colorado, solo. The WYBDR can get pretty remote and the worry starts to set in a bit. Out there 100% alone, maybe not seeing anyone for hours at a time. I often wished I had another vehicle or even a person with me. Being solo you tend to really miss so much of what's around you as your focus is all on just staying on the trail. But now that I'm home on the east coast, I can only think about getting out there again. It's almost hard for me to watch you guys out there. 😊❤
Greetings family, every week I look forward to seeing your adventures. It is already part of what I long to see (a family that makes a difference). Seeing them alone makes me very sad. You and your children, wow, are something else. Take care of yourselves, Angel appreciates you.
I follow other channels of folks that travel like you guys. They’ve traveled through this vast area as well and I always enjoy it! Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
First, congratulations on your upcoming anniversary. May God Bless you with many more. Great video. The Epic "Empty Nest" Adventures look like fun. I love offloading in the "high desert". It's like noting else. The first time we went I found it a little unsettling (at first) when we didn't see another human for three days. But, as you mentioned, if you are prepared you can relax and take in the beauty and vastness this great country has to offer. And how critical it is to protect it. Pete Jr. has the perfect voice for narrating (nice touch). 😎🌻😎
I never knew that a desert could be a dry river bed also. Interesting. I always thought OR was forests. Boy was I wrong. Such views. Fantastic journey. Thanks for sharing with us. Congrats on upcoming 25th. anniversary. Hubby and I had 56 1/2 yrs. together . May you have as many too. Take care. Travel safe. Looking forward to next video.
My husband and I have been married 43 years. I’ve only had to cook for only the two of us for years, but raising three boys and two girls, I still find myself making way too much food! I’m also the oldest of eight, so it took a lot to learn how to cook for only two when we were first married!
Today is our 41st Anniversary. Doesn't seem like it has been that long. Hopefully my husband keeps on making it since he had cancer in 2013 and pretty much still fighting it.
If you like green salsa, if you ever make your way to northern New Mexico to Taos.... My father i law sells red and green chile salsas called Pepe's Salsa in the local stores... You would absolutely love them..
Oh goodness, Tillamook cheese ❤It's one of the things I miss about living in the PNW. Washington native here (but living in Ontario for the last 25 years) 😀
Welcome home Carol. I live in Junction City Oregon and just love this place. Camped on the Alvord Desert and up Steens Mountain many times. The wild horses are there.
Good morning and great to see you out there! My daughter and I have camped very nearby (I recognize the Oregon sign) the last few summers. Such a beautiful, desolate place!
Those Steins are really nice. They can be set to what ever tire pressure you wish. The Alvord Desert looks like a great place for star gazing and deep space photography. Great video, thanks for sharing.
Well I’m sad we missed you we were just there the weekend of September 15th. How cool would that been running into you folks. I’m glad we didn’t take that rocky back country. We are definitely not that experienced. Glad y’all made it to pave safe. Welcome to Oregon.
I’m absolutely jealous that you guys are the only ones out there. You gotta love that and great footage with the drone. 😊😊😊😊😂😂😂 ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Oh God! THANKS FOR THE TAKE ALONG! Could only thank you in capital.letters!
You know Mom is a well experienced hand when you see her hands cooking up a wonderful meal!
11/20/23 - Another GREAT video! Thanks for taking me along! Chas.,SC

So cool! Happy anniversary to you both!
Oregonian here, and I’ve Got to explore the southwest portion!
Awesome video as always Epic Family Road Trip. Oregon BDR is so spectacularly beautiful you can explore for days and never see the same thing twice.
Almost looks like another planet. Thanks for the ride
So enjoy seeing country I’ve never seen ‼️‼️‼️thank you. Travel safe
I have the same toaster … old school rules
I didn't know Oregon had landscape like that thank you for taking us along the trip

Another great Video Watching from a Rainy 🌧️☔ East Coast 🇺🇸

Makes you truly appreciate those who traveled the Oregon trail by foot. Humbling to say the least.
Yes agreed.
I liked the ethereal music you chose on that flat pan desert scene - had a cool vibe to it :)
Have the same deflaters, save time at the trail head. Nice video.
I enjoy watching your adventures. Thanks for sharing.
Good morning EFRT!
Wow what an awesome place to explore. Did not realize Oregon has such diverse landscapes. Thank you for taking us along! ❤️
We just missed you! We were in the Owyhee Canyon area. We are heading south into Arizona and then heading back to Florida.
Next time! Have a great trip!
You do as well. Supposed to turn cold in the next few days.
My husband and I just celebrated our 40th on August 13th, you know some of us are so blessed to have a partner in life. I am going ahead now to wish both of you a long, loving life together, may God keep His hand upon you both. 💐
That sky is enormous it just huge
Safe Travels!!!!
Living here in SW Oregon, I’ve noticed that too, no guardrails where you’d think you’d need them most, unlike California. They’re everywhere!

Hello from Brisbane Queensland Australia
Our anniversary is October 10th too. Hope you had a fantastic anniversary celebration.
We so relate to having difficulty cooking for 2! The struggle is real!
OMG, you stopped at Fields and didn’t get a Milkshake? I thought that was against the law. We stop there a lot on our bikes and never leave without having a milkshake 😆

Excellent trip. TY for sharing. When's Caroline's wedding?
Great video! I live in Boise and never knew of the Alvord desert. My wife and I are going out in October and headed towards the redwoods. Maybe we add this to our agenda to check out!
Welcome to eastern Oregon we got lots of roads like that over there.

Wonderful video Carol & Pete. Thought the footage of the jeep coming across the desert at around 14.25 was just awesome.
Many people never thought Oregon had that kind of terrain I thought it was all trees
Super loved your travel vlog, it gives me inspiration to do it someday:-)
Great choice of cheese. Come see us here in Tillamook while ur on the coast.
I follow other channels of folks that travel like you guys. They’ve traveled through this vast area as well and I always enjoy it! Thanks for sharing your trip with us!
I would be too nervous to enjoy any of the beautiful scenery.
You both are very brave.

Hardly a trail at times!

We really love your videos, but I wish you would lift up your trailer power wire so it doesn't drag on the ground. ❤
Will do 👍🏻
Your Oregon outback adventure is giving me serious wanderlust. Let's hit the road.
Watched this video and at the end dropping into Lakeview I've been down that road many times. In snow and in the dark.
Beautiful episode, happiest of anniversaries to you🎉
Utah To Nevada bact to Oregon? What an adventure!!
