I had the very same 3gb gtx1060. Sold it along with my old motherboard about a year or so ago. I now have the RTX2060 6gb with a Ryzen 7 2700x. Going by the state of gfx cards at the moment. I won't be upgrading. In case you're wondering, my old CPU was an AMD FX8150. Sold the board, CPU, RAM etc as a package deal to my granddaughters boyfriend. To this day he still hasn't bought a chassis to put it in.

That's a completely different card, it's a bigger difference than the 1070ti vs 1070 (your missing a ton of CUDA cores, it's not the same GPU core even if you had 12 GB of Vram it wouldn't perform as well)

@Lov Mir what? you dont grade a gpu buy its vram LOL, a 3060 Ti has a 12gb vram and 3070 has 8gb. The thing that its matter are the chip inside the gpu. Bigger Vram doesnt mean better graphic card if you has less powerfull chip

    • @Brandyn0
      @Brandyn0 3 года назад +3

@Lov Mir SMH this guy has no freaking clue. 3060ti does not out perform a 3070 because of Vram. The 3060ti has a bus speed of 256 like the 3070 but the 3070 has higher core count thus more performance power. The 3060 while it has 12gb vram has a slower bus and becomes a bottle neck because it can’t buffer quickly enough to utilize the memory. Most games on ultra and 1440p barely use 8gb vram as it is. Please do research before acting like you know crap. Also you can’t compare consoles to a pc because of the difference in architecture and those have games solely optimized for 1 style of hardware where pc is set to run on a wide range of components . Get out of here with you console war baiting

    • @haritsdanish6392

as a FG tournament player and PC builder for about a decade, i can confirm that a 960 should be enough for most FGs. you may have to run it at low, but it should be able to run most games at 60 fps. i run a 1600x/rx570 4gb card in my itx pc i take w me to tournaments and it runs every FG that came out this generation just fine at medium or better. (T7 auto scales to your hardware so theres not much configuration to worry about, i run SF5 at medium, which makes it look like the ps4 version) all 2d games like GG,skullgirls, under night etc run just fine maxed out at 1080p.

I have this GPU, came with the PC I bought about 2 weeks ago.
I haven't had any issues with it.
To be honest, I haven't really got any new-ish games on Steam yet.
What I have though, which is generally 2000 and 2010 era games, run great.
Source games hit just below 300fps maxed.
The most demanding game I have is probably one of the newer LEGO games, either DC Super Villians or Force Awakens where they hit about 60 - 70fps maxed out, they look amazing though, never thought LEGO could look so good.
Even emulation works great on it, Wii U is possible if you set Async shaders on as it stutters when loading shaders, this can also be fixed by using someone else's shader files.
    Wii and GameCube are flawless.
It's making it hard to go back to consoles...

I had a MSI gaming 960 4gb, one of the best cards I had, really good looking card, the cooler was the same as the 980ti, so it was cold next to frozen, never exceed 51 degrees at 40% fan speed. Overcloked the hell out of it, +150 mhz on core and +450mhz on memory, almost 20% increase by of performance, it really was insane! It was a really silent and powerful card, I have very good memories with it. Traded it 3 years later for an Asus phoenix 1060 3gb with little money difference in 2018, that card also did pretty well, the thing is it was a little toasty (74c degrees on metro exodus) even at high fans speeds and good airflow, but it didn't gave me any trouble.

I had a 960 2GB SLI setup for a short while because I won them for stupid cheap in an eBay auction. For the handful of games that supported it, the framerates were great. About equivalent to a GTX 980 in most cases. But the 2GB of VRAM left me at 1080p Low/Medium no matter if SLI was supported or not. Not to mention that the card struggled hard in games like Forza Horizon. Hitting around 50 fps at 1080p for me and constantly bouncing off of that vram buffer. Needless to say, I upgraded to a GTX 980 as soon as possible.

I am not upgrading, because there is not a single game out there that makes me wanna spend big bucks on a new pc. Maybe by when GTA6 (lol) comes out, I will upgrade. Or maybe if Fallout 5 launches or a new TES game.

i bought the same gigabyte 2gb version you have about a month after launch back in 2015 it was a powerful card , very satisfying and ideal for budget 1080p 60fps back in the day ...then games started getting Vram demanding at the end of 2015....in my experience the 2 gb version letterly become obsolete after less then 1 year of its launch ..so imagine how it is in 2021.... however i sold and bought another cards like gtx 980 , 1060 and rx 480 and i was planning on getting an rtx 2060 , then things didn't go as planed and graphic cards become expensive and rare and hard to find and ended up with no gpu ( i invested in getting a ps4 instead ) ... then a month ago i found an old pc on sold with a cpu i5 1st gen 8gb ram and gtx 960 4gb version in it for around 170 usd . i kept the gtx 960 and sold the rest so it cost me around 60 usd ... anyway the 4gb version was so much decent and stands for late 2021 games and i could use up to ultra texture quality in some games when i was limited to low only on the 2gb version.... the only thing is its better to game on 900p with it on AAA 2021 games but you could use upscale to 1080p .
my point is, from my 1st hand experience the 2gb version is a 100% waste of money push for the extra cost and get the 2021 decent gpu the 4gb version and its totally worth it.

But this now is a low end card. The fact that most of the games tested had to be dropped to 900p means that it can't drive the most common monitor resolution. Current situation with GPU's not withstanding, this would still be really far down the line on what you should consider unless you are playing 5 year old or e-sports titles.

I postponed my CP77 playthrough, but that's probably a good idea in general, as they work on fixes.
