@@balintt01 Nope. That's just a bad cooling system. The TDP tells you how much heat is thrown into the air, no matter the gpu temperature. RX 470 is low TDP. Make sure you have a proper fan curve in MSI Afterburner.

My r9 290 can run over 90 degrees. :D. I remember it running so hot that it artifacts. It's Gigabyte card @stock everything. I had to undervolt it to run at under 90 degrees.

For people like me Above 1050 is considered mid end Low end is like GT730 and it's siblings. Also R5 series. 1030, 550, 950 and 750Ti is considered upper low end. Even among of my friends. My 550 is like top tier. They gaming on Integrated graphics.
That’s exactly the kind of gpu that would benefit from FSR. That’s just free performance and it makes the cards to last more. I hope in future maybe FSR would give even more fps
I remember 3090s for sale briefly with fermi style blowers on them for the memes. Nvidia quickly shut that down though, because they were cutting into their Quadro sales.

Previously I owned an old legendary Nvidia GeForce 9600GT it was such a heater. Playin' GTA:SA with maximum GPU cooling and gettin' 102-105 degrees (celsius).
it helps a tons that it's in a modern system, it's not rly the same as playing on a system it would have been in those days, as well as a much more efficient PSU/CPU/RAM, there's nothing wrong with using this card in that setting as a stop gap until you replace a busted one, altho I'd reach for the r9 380/390 first for that extra VRAM 1.5 vs 4gb is a big jump.
The 2ng gen i7s had some crazy overclocking that were out around this time. A 2600k or 2700k with a decent overclock will still just about be powerful enough today to have a surprisingly close experience with the same card in most games - even some newer ones. Some of course will be too far, but it would surprise you how much they can do even with the older RAM on top.
its double the price of the GTX 480. . . but yea, if you got the extra money I would def go with the r9 280/380/390. . .Much stronger GPU. My oldest son is still rocking one, the drivers are kinda garbage and holds it back a bit but for standard 1080p on the style of games he plays it works like a charm! :)
wow it's better than I expected. Seems like "80" cards are pretty solid. My 1050ti in the laptop can perform only a little better, well tbh I'm bottlenecked by the RAM otherwise much better

gtx 480 is literally a spaceheater and its not a joke. i built an old school build like this with SLI 480s and i left for an hour to dinner and came back and the room the PC was in was 90f

Above 1050 is considered mid end
Low end is like GT730 and it's siblings.
Also R5 series.
1030, 550, 950 and 750Ti is considered upper low end.

My 550 is like top tier. They gaming on Integrated graphics.

RX 550 is like a 1030, the 1050 is 2x the performance.
The 950 is like 5% slower than the 1050.
750ti is 20% faster than the 1030 and 550.
I have had a radeon hd 6450 for like 6 years now and I remember the 1050 ti used to be my dream card but even till this day I can't afford a new gpu
