You go to great lengths in the science of ballistic strikes to get the point across about the need for simultaneously needing to keep the upper body and upper arms completely relaxed but at the same time keep the forearms, wrist and fist tense to be able to generate and transfer the impact in a punch. I have had great success with this however I am now wondering about other types of strikes and trying to apply the same principles.
    A. Palm strikes - is it the same? Meaning do you pull the hand back and create tension in the hand, wrist and forearm but keep everything else relaxed when striking like this? I would assume so but would like your confirmation please.
    B. Elbows - of course the elbow is hard and 'fixed' being just bone and joint and you will keep the upper body and arm relaxed the same as in a punch but do you tense the fist and wrist and forearm when you elbow?
    C. Kicks - From video clips I think the same concept applies with kicks in that you would keep the upper leg and hips relaxed but you would need to keep the lower legs and particularly the ankle and foot tense to transfer the impact and penetrate the opponents body. Is this correct?
    D. Knees - A similar question as with the elbow, the upper legs are relaxed of course but do you tense your lower legs when kneeing? Perhaps it is needed to keep the knee compact enough to give the penetration effect?
    E. Headbutts - of course you can't really 'tense your head' but do you keep the neck tense at impact similar to the wrist?
Thanks if you see this and reply.
