Been camping in a swag and a tarp for ages, got a brand new triton and spent too much money on it, thanks to you, best thing I ever did, thanks mate cheers from vic
Tramontina machetes are as far as im concerned the best in the world for value and performance. I wrap the handle with tennis grip and get em razor sharp.
Hi Ronny & Harry, Having done really well (i.e. persevered unto de end), I'd like to suggest my replacement choice for the chainsaw would be a good bed of sorts. Chainsaws are the next stage up from a pea. A saw when layed upon makes one sore. And from recent personal experience I too would most certainly recommend a good quality airbed/mattress (Elf-inflating; one should always carry a domesticated Elf). No not a Matrix; they're already overly inflated. This "diff~errant" episoda is pricelessly eggscellent, in every way. Ronny this once again demonstrates how a no-frills natural layback presentation is golden. Thankyou guys. Really entertainingly interestingly informative. (y) :)
I really enjoyed this one! I like that you cover what "normal" people can do for a set up. So many of the overlanding world is out of reach for the average person. Thanks Ronny & Harry!
I'm 6.4' and 120kgs after being a weirdo and testing 50+ chairs I settled with the newer model of that camp chair and its second to none. I've got the hotspot and it must be one of my first recommendations of camping id make because comfort is key
This man has more knives than the Swedish Chef! *BORK BORK BORK!* But seriously, if you've been camping as long as I have, you'll appreciate having all of those items on hand when they're needed. No more "Aw, drats! I should've brought that along!"
I've re-watched this episode a few times. I love going through people's kit and hearing the stories that go with each piece. Also the diy stuff and fit outs.
Top video Ronny and Harry. I totally agree with the chainsaw! Mine is right up there in terms of importance. Husky always comes with me every time i hit the road! Thanks for sharing guys.
Harry's extending torch at 30 mins... i got one from local diy / hardware shop for about £10 to throw in work van.. was so useful i had to go back for another 4 ( for own , parents & sister's cars ).. if you see them grab a couple
That was a top video and I look forward to seeing more of them. I nearly couldn't write down notes fast enough as there was a lot to take away from this video!
Hey Ronny! This was awesome to watch! Not only because of the content more that you two guys are just work so well together. Its just watching very good friends doing there thing. It is a pleasure for me to watch it. Cheers!
As someone just researching a vehicle etc for overlanding I'm finding these videos super helpful guys, really well done on the helpful and entertaining content!
It was like looking at our camp set up with many similar or identical items - eg, same grinder and aero-press BUT using a drill to grind it - brilliant. There goes 20% of my aerobic exercise. Those wire grilling racks are the ducks guts - used one for years until someone ran over it - I ‘fixed it’ until I found the perfect replacement made of stainless steel at Gaganis Brothers in Adelaide. I don’ think they sell on-line. I got mine from a very cool butcher shop - Moo Baa Oink. I picked up a lot of tips (and often do from Ronny’s vids) like putting cutting compound on my strop. One tip I would like to pass on to people as I have never heard it mentioned in these sort of vids is the use of a hip-hole when sleeping on the ground. I was very fortunate to have been given quite a few ideas for outside living when I started camping as a youngster in the 60’s (I’m in my 60’s now) from an Indigenous station hand. Number one was dig a hip hole under your swag for a good nights sleep. Whether you sleep on your back or side it works for me and the missus. Its a bit harder to get the spot right with a tent but doable. I take a measurement of where my bum is going to be and gouge out a depression using the heel of my boot - or a spade. Great vid guys and especially good to see Harry carrying on the tradition of bush cooking over a fire. I think the best part of using a 4wd is to get outback to sit with your best mate around a fire cooking up a feed and in my case it’s the missus. One last plea to everyone - please burn your toilet paper or bury it well. My girls all got cigarette lighters and taught how to use them when we went bush. Keep Australia Beautiful.
Good stuff as usual , Norton synthetic steel wool pads from Bunnings are great pot cleaner/polishers , use 0000 ones for cleaning rust off knife blades and polishing stainless steel .Try to find military type pressure bandages and tape one on your belt next to all those knives !!! if your knife sheaths start to wear loose inside or the sharp parts are cutting through , get a white rawhide dog chew "bone" from the supermarket , soak it in warm water , cut to shape and fit it into the sheath use the knife to hold it in place the sheath , when it is dry the rawhide is almost impossible to cut and acts as a retaining spring .
Such a great idea with using a swag to roll everything up. Gonna go get a canvas swag bag that goes on the outside of a swag and use that to house my self inflating mattress, sleeping bag and pillow all rolled up into one, rather than separately storing everything in bags.
Great episode! So frustrating what we can't get from you guys (or it costs a ton to ship) and what you guys can't get easily from here in the States, ie the Coleman piece. I usually carry a Stihl saw as well. Not so much for firewood, but downed trees that block the road. Quicker sometimes than winching. That's a lot of stuff in that 80! It is amazing how much you can pack in them though. Unfortunately we only got the petrol version, so at 7,000 feet (2,133 meters) or better here in Arizona, they really get winded.
Did I hear right? 412 watts of solar? We only have 390 watts on the Coaster! With all the gear Harry has, I am starting to understand the need for a trailer. We carry a ton of gear because we have the room but in a 4x4 and small trailer, Harry's payload is quite impressive :) Great idea to have an on-demand 'Pump inna box' I put one in a safety case and it is incredibly useful. Love the extendable magnetic torch, getting one of those to add to our kit. We have 2 rules for camp chairs, make sure when you buy one it doesn't cut into the back of your legs when seated and always buy a chair with a full back to keep the cold wind away. Great video and some good advice. Oh and best thing ever? I would have thought the vehicle that gets you out there :)
One problem i have with the lighter weight camp chairs (up to 225 pounds load limit typically) is that the seat fabric stretches and sags, leading to bad posture and lower back aches. We use old rocking chair seat pads, small throw pillows and such. the nieces prefer using their small fleece throws.
I think chairs are like prescription eye glasses. You can use a pair that belongs to another person and it might do the job for a while. But, unless your eyes are exactly the same as the person who owns the glasses, your probably not going to be happy. I went to a retailer and tried a couple of dozen chairs before found the right one for me. PS: I think you just made the bloke in Sydney who imports those magnetic torches a millionaire. I just bought a couple as well Lol...
awesome. harrys 80 series has inspired me to go back to an SUV rather than dual cab ute. I would be keen to see that video of Harry and how he came to be fire to fork. is it possible after the supporters have seen it to make it available to youtube
Really enjoyed this episode guys, really well done!! Now I hate to brag but I do consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to sitting around, so when the time comes to filming your camp chair review episode I would be happy to put my expertise to good use and help out where I can!!
Great video Ronny...I watched it in 3 parts. Your buddy is funny. I'm building a camp sleeper trailer on a heavy duty chassy. I like to carry stuff with me too. Cooking is a big deal for me camping as well. Enjoy the videos keep it up!
Love Harry’s way with cooking have had some great comments on the food that has come from the cooking videos. The best is the Chocolate and Marshmallow damper 🤤
Gotta get one of those magnetic torches!! Have lost so many screws and bolts that’ve fallen Into engine bay never to be seen again. Half my rig is held together with cable ties!
This was so good Ronny and Harry 👌 Well done. Loved seeing you guys in a non commercial environment just getting pissed doing what you love. Of course we all watched till the end... Who didn't ? Defiantly buying that flexible torch! Awesome Awesome Awesome..... 👏
The comment about the chair cutting off blood flow to your legs. I thought it was just me! I sat in an Oztent exactly like that and found it incredibly uncomfortable. Ended up buying a Quest chair with hard arms that looks very similar but the edge for some reason suited my legs better. The cheapo camp chairs are bad for me too. I've now gone to a different Oztent chair, a Gecko with the sidetable. It's great, much quicker to use than the Quest which was always a pain to fold up with the hard arms. It'd not quite so comfortable but still good to spent a weekend in or every evening for a long trip.
great show, i have to say most of fold up chairs are bloody uncomfortable the front edge cuts into the back of my legs so now i put a cushion down and sit on that i nave won lots at shoots and they all fall to bits
Anti fungal cream used mostly for Tinea(when ya dont dry between ya toes a fungus grows and rots skin away and is very itchy and if you itch it, it becomes very sore.
Cheers for the great vid' guys. Makes me miss WA a little looking at that camp site. You can't beat a camp with good mates. Have to ask what that coffee setup is, yet to find one that would make a proper sized/strength coffee and that looks like a winner. Edit... You mentioned at the end, off to fire2fork, much appreciated.
I have a cafflano: cafflanoshop.com/ I really rate it. The reason being that it is an all in one (grinder, filter and mug), you just need the beans and a way to boil water (jetboil). I too like strong fresh coffee and it has been no problem. The main draw backs is that it is only a single coffee maker, so if you have mates and want to brew up a few coffees, it is not really suited. And I actually find hand grinding really satisfying and the time it takes relaxing.
Great vid guys. Looking forward to the chair comparison. Took me four chairs until I found one that suited my duck’s disease. I’d love to see a steel wheel brand comparison vid too.
Its Creapy on how close this setup is to ours. Maybe not all the cooking stuff but we even have the same extendable magnet/flash light and the licour briefcase.. wow
The world needs more Ronny and Harry
Love to see other people's set ups and hacks. Sometimes it's so simple but you just don't think of it until you see someone else doing it!
Just watched this one again. Forget how good it was. It's a lot of fun watching you two together. Great work guys!
Once again two buddies make this video so great and natural and you never want it to end. Ronny and Harry need a joint series. Thanks guys.
Been camping in a swag and a tarp for ages, got a brand new triton and spent too much money on it, thanks to you, best thing I ever did, thanks mate cheers from vic
Great video, For normal people who like to cook, Harry's camp setup is number 1.
nice to see a Tramontina machete made in Brazil all the way in Australia! Greetings from Brazil.
greetings sir and thanks for watching
Tramontina machetes are as far as im concerned the best in the world for value and performance. I wrap the handle with tennis grip and get em razor sharp.

No need for fancy video editing... thank you for being yourselves. Thank you for sharing.
Nice series
I really enjoyed this one! I like that you cover what "normal" people can do for a set up. So many of the overlanding world is out of reach for the average person. Thanks Ronny & Harry!
Harry's a legend, he has the skills and the passion. Camp fire cooking is the best feed you will have!!! Cheers Harry and Ronny.
Cheers mate, legend
This episode is brilliant, it's like a camping version of 'cribs'.
I'm 6.4' and 120kgs after being a weirdo and testing 50+ chairs I settled with the newer model of that camp chair and its second to none. I've got the hotspot and it must be one of my first recommendations of camping id make because comfort is key

Bought one of those torches on eBay for $10.39 aud just typed in Magnetic Extendable Torch and it was the first thing to come up! Legend cheers mate.
Thanks guys....over the top ..but great. Harry's enthusiasm is very infectious..
Having met these guys at the DFCE NSW all I can say is what a pair of clowns.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Cheers boys...
hahaha, loved the swag in the rv5.... and of course the BILTONG!!!!! yum!
I've re-watched this episode a few times. I love going through people's kit and hearing the stories that go with each piece. Also the diy stuff and fit outs.

Thanks guys that was very interesting - seems like all the items were gathered over many years and trips.
That was a top video and I look forward to seeing more of them. I nearly couldn't write down notes fast enough as there was a lot to take away from this video!
Yous rambling on about the camping chairs had me in tears😂
Hey Ronny! This was awesome to watch! Not only because of the content more that you two guys are just work so well together.
Its just watching very good friends doing there thing. It is a pleasure for me to watch it. Cheers!
So much better Ronny can now understand this one and audio is100% on the pilot mate good one!
Watched to the end...... I like the camp setup series it’s good to see methods others use.
As someone just researching a vehicle etc for overlanding I'm finding these videos super helpful guys, really well done on the helpful and entertaining content!

Ronny’s Wolfpack keeps growing. 👍
One of your best vids ever Ronny...truly enjoyed it. Cheers from N.Y. mates!
Really entertaining video Ronny and Harry! Love these non bs styled vids!
Basically an awesome blanket fort @4:00
Great video Ronny, Harry comes across as a clever dude, and pretty cool fella to boot!!

Honestly mate keep doing these setup videos there great to watch and get some really good ideas
Sweet! A video just to end the saturday night, thanks!

This is the best ever. Great stuff gents.
Loved the vid, Harry has the same interests in camping as I do.
Thanks! Tons of stuff I never thought of. Love the Frontrunner hot plate. Never even heard of it. It's on my shopping list. Thanks!
great coverage guys , you do need all the gear when camping makes for a top trip
These are great videos. Ive watched them a couple of times over the last couple of years. Would be keen to see more in this vein for sure.👌👍
Your trips are amazing.
Your modified are incredible.
But you most certainly have to do more camping setups Ronnie...
Don’t worry there will be more to come 👍
Such a great idea with using a swag to roll everything up. Gonna go get a canvas swag bag that goes on the outside of a swag and use that to house my self inflating mattress, sleeping bag and pillow all rolled up into one, rather than separately storing everything in bags.

Ronny & Harry that was really informative, great stuff fellas 👌👍

You heard it right - 412watts. It goes hard!
The vehicle is great, but the hotplate is better.
Cheers
Love the videos keep them coming all the way from Texas

Nice one guys. I see why the trailer is so handy. 😎
Great vid love the banter, interesting guy that Harry bloke.
Great guys love both your content
Really enjoying this new series!! Can't wait for more!
What an interesting video and what a nut case.

That is a good comment about chairs, camping shows are best time to test a large range of styles
Great video Ronny! I watched all the way to the end lol! cheers from Redondo Beach, California
Brilliant and very interesting, all of it.
Ronny, these camping videos are absolutely awesome. keep them coming!
Shall do mate 🤙
Great vid, thanks for sharing. Enjoy all your vids, and these type are great to see how others set up their camp site, and equipment they use.
Enjoyed hearing the camping hacks bit, maybe you could do a video on that Ronny. Say top 20 or 30 camping hacks
Love your videos!! Lovely guys too.. really enjoying watching heaps of value. Thank you 🙏🏽 😀
Love the hacks!!! Great video!
This is great, love seeing full set ups 👌🏻 Harry is a legend too!
Great video, thanks for sharing.

Front Runner has some good chairs. Comfy, and they really fold up. I think CGI makes them actually.
great show, i have to say most of fold up chairs are bloody uncomfortable the front edge cuts into the back of my legs so now i put a cushion down and sit on that i nave won lots at shoots and they all fall to bits
Very interesting. Harry & I are on the same page
Nice job guys. Got some great ideas!
wicked guys had to go get pen n paper lol got one of those torches cheers
Great video y'all a big Gday from N Florida USA I found you because of nathan king. I really enjoyed watching it thanks for video.
Anti fungal cream used mostly for Tinea(when ya dont dry between ya toes a fungus grows and rots skin away and is very itchy and if you itch it, it becomes very sore.
Chair comp!!! Do it!!
Great video guys, look forward to more on camping tips etc.
Got myself one of those wee torches from local asian store. Awesome and cheap.
Bugsy in a Blanket?....Sounds tasty.
Great vid.
Cheers
Definitely need a swag in an oztent to keep dry when the condensation drips from the cross bar onto you
Cheers for the great vid' guys.
Makes me miss WA a little looking at that camp site.

It's great to see you blokes enjoy some real South African tucker, Biltong!!! Have you tried Dry Wors?
Frank Dos Santos I love drywors! Definitely going to make some in the bush this summer
I thought that was good stuff guys thanks
