      The hard thing is a lot of what CoD has become is in itself unenjoyable. Coldwar is largely broken and along with Warzone has it's more than fair share of cheaters. Add in SBMM that has made every match a sweat fest. The one match of reprieve every so often is meant to be the dopamine hit to manipulatively keep you playing. The series has become both financially and mentally predatory in nature. It's not a good series anymore. It is lackluster BS leaching off what used to be.

    This makes way too much sense. The best games I have are when I’m active on headset and I’ve got a team that communicates and works together. But the games where I’m just out doing my own thing, no matter how well I do, it never feels good. It’s another reason why I don’t like disbanding lobbies. I enjoyed WWII so much because you’d be able to chat with and play with the same people for hours. I hope that meta comes back soon.

    When I play CoD, I pick a few challenges that are achievable and try to accomplish them by the end of the play session. Seeing people go off in CoD makes plenty of people forget what a short term goal and a long term goal is. I didn't get my first nuclear medal until CoD WW2, when I've been playing CoD since CoD3.

      I dropped nukes during the mw2 era and Black ops2 era. Now their is to much movement to what I’m used to. I can’t shoot someone without them jumping and slide canceling to get out of it and truth is their not that good either. I watched these newer players play their hearts out when they get the movement down but if took it back to MW2; without that movement they would get bodied. This isn’t towards everyone just the majority. In those days all it took for me was to get the AC130 kill streak and the nuke is already there by the time it left. Now the killstreaks are sort of lack luster to what they were in the old days of COD. MW2019 has to many meta weapons that are really good to use. Most of the SMGs are more viable than ARs unless your your playing Warzone and need the extra range damage threshold. The novelty of hitting trick shots, 25-0 games, and funny clips are at an end. Cold War Isn’t even good compared to its predecessors. It’s sad.

    I think there's a massive distinction between holding strategic position and camping. As long as it helps the team win, it's acceptable. I've clutched search matches by sitting in spawn and picking off an impatient enemy team when we can't achieve map control. You can't kill anyone if you are dead.

    • @christiancooper478
      @christiancooper478 3 года назад

      Agreed on that, i would always go one way for a bit, so everyone would gonto that side, then when they dont expect it flank them, but now it doesnt work because of the camping, both corners on their spawn, 2 in the middle, it’s ridiculous. Ive tried so many tactics, i cant get a kill anymore, and its ruining the game for me. First week i had it, easy 30-16 kd, now, its like 1-20 kd. Its got me all stressed the fuck out cuz its getting ridiculous to play. I always go on hardcore cuz its easier to get kills when you can. Any other game mode is like aids

ImMarksman, he adapts to his opponents and pulls no punches with gear to for his enemies to adapt. Always running with an MP5/10 and smashing through enemy lines isn't always going to work, sometimes you need to ambush them with a doofdoof and claymores and make them mad enough to make mistakes.

    I grew up with COD and the classics - xJawz, Woody, Drift0r, Whiteboy…Nobody really cared about game design or personal performance, as long as they were having fun and improving through experience. Dopamine boosts were organic; fueled by personal achievements and impressive plays. The abundance of gun guides, best classes, and Nuke/MOAB videos drove me to push my nonexistent FPS skills to their limits. I wanted to drop nukes, get mastery camos, and camp in the best spots in Infected. I wanted to be a famous RUclipsr, to turn my only real passion into a career. Impatience and a lack of instant gratification killed that dream. To this day I still rage over inconsistent aim and mediocre K/D. It took me so long to realize how emotionally invested I’ve gotten in something that should have always remained a casual hobby. Gaming has kept me happy for a long time, and there is plenty of fun to be had. But this video and deeper reflection makes me question if gaming is really enriching my life, or I’m feeding into an addiction for the sake of nostalgia and constant emotional stimulation.

    One of the reasons I like overkill is the ability to snipe(With a sniper) and run and gun with an SMG/AR. I can design a class for more situations and for being more adaptable. I think it works the best on more messy maps. Plus my enemies have to actually be better than me rather than catch me off guard at a range my gun can't compete at. If you guys don't already use overkill or law breaker, I highly recommend trying it. It's my favorite way to play.

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki 3 года назад

      For example, if I'm on Express using an SMG, someone can use a sniper from their hallway that overlooks the trains. I'm obviously going to lose at a range. But if I duck for cover, switch to my own sniper, I can easily compete in a 55/45 gunfight, rather than a 99/1 gunfight.
      I could look for another route... or I could ego challenge. I see a lot of people who hate snipers who post up in a power position, especially on Grazna Raid on mw. My simple advice is to run a sniper secondary and be better than them at sniping/being accurate.

    Back in the days of COD4, WAW and MW2 the biggest revelation I had was buying a headset and using sound whore perks. That alone was a huve divide between players with awareness and players without. In a lobby full of players using 360 chat mics and loud footsteps, you didn't need to be amazing to get a high score that was bolstered by killstreaks. That was your YT worthy gameplay right there. Even easier if you used MP40/M16/UMP etc on a 4 bar connection.

    In hc tdm in mw3 and ghosts our clan was one of the most feared on the EU servers.
    When we came clans backed out, and i contributed to camping but not just camping, camping in high traffic areas in or around the centerpoint of the map.
    And there were some good rushers in my squad, so even if the opponent wanted to take his time to eliminate me, they were always picked off by my quick rushing teammates.
    Even solo some clans reconized me but they stayed since i was with randoms, but still managed to make it difficult for them to rush freely, or in your words *"making them nervous to navigate the map"*

Once I have the enemy pissed off I'll rush them like a crack head lol. It usually works. I know I have the gunny to mop a team of 6. But cod is so much more than gunny. Granted if your aim isn't great my advice is to push more gunfights... kd really doesn't mean shit. It's just a number. Plus when people do judge your low kd but you're mopping the floor with them it makes it feel that much better

    I think what I’ve found can be summed up with, “be a thorn in your enemy’s side”. This doesn’t require you to win the game or kill the opponent every time. It just means to behave like water and take the avenue of least resistance to then allow you to lay traps for the enemy or aggravate them. Be a disruptor for your team. If enemy is holding B flag down, find a way around to their A flag and steal it. If they come to defend A and kill you, go for B. If they instead go for your C, go for B. Be the thorn in their side in any way you can. Trip mines are good, gas mines, whatever. Add turrets on flags. Camp hard if enemy is pinning you. Adapt! Forget kills. Hell, forget captures. Be a fucking nuisance. This will help your team immensely and it’s a very enjoyable shift in gameplay and perspective.

    0:31 I did that when I first got into online cod(bo3 and iw). I still love the mindset. Only problem now is when people actually use op weapons devs don't want to change. Or when melee actually sucks(BOCW). I actually missed the old melee-ing where you could one hit kill to the back but 2 hit kill from the front(now you have to use an execution to one hit kill from the back... you can't just quickly bash them from behind and move on...).

    • @Mattsuki
      @Mattsuki 3 года назад +1

      Bocw and mw melee kills require 2 hits unless preforming an execution. Bocw melee feels terrible though because of no lunge and how you can do the kill animation but the kill doesn't actually register... dam terrible design imo

    I watch a lot of bf4 players who are insane and I admit it sometimes makes me doubt myself when I don’t perform to their standards, even if I am in fact doing well relative to other players.
    My play style does not facilitate this well. Through playing 200 hours of titanfall my favourite strategy is to rush towards the enemy, moving as much as possible to be hard to hit, and shooting when the opportunity arises, and it works in that game. But it doesn’t work in bf4 and most other games. So moving forward I’m going to try and play more strategically as you say, play smart, consider where the enemy will be and where I can get shot from, cause that’s how you actually do well.

Props for the video my guy you just got another sub well deserved! 👌💯 I’ve been on cod mw multiplayer & warzone for a year now still a noob lol but then again it’s my first video game console since Super Nintendo therefore it took me quite some time to underestand the game play storyline & the zombies part i started with Cold War so you could imagine the frustration on my team when I would first jump in to br quads or plunder or multiplayer LOL even in survival lol people in chat can be pretty mean lol but I’m confident saying that I try to comunícate use my pings be on the same page but everybody always goes their own way so I stick to solos one day I’ll get 1st place ain’t no rush in it at the end of the day it is only a game, something to do when there is nothing to do.

    Here's my problem: my AIM. And, also my movement when I think about it.
    I'll have a day's worth of playing (or just a cluster of games) where I feel very stable and coordinated. My right stick control feels smooth and accurate for both aiming and swimming through sections of the map and my aims seem to "notch" onto guys better and/or have more confident and steady stick adjustments while I'm shooting. Overall I feel sharp and crisp. Then, for some reason, the next day I'm totally off and I can just feel it in the way I move. I get caught up on door corners, my movements are less smooth and my aim feels really slippery and twitchy. During these off days I'll even have really silly misses such as missing a kill from behind, even though the day prior I was getting explosive kills head-on, because something is just wrong with my right thumb that day. The most frustrating thing is when I freeze up and don't adjust my aim when I can see I'm missing the target and it's just an embarrassing miss, whereas the day prior I had some actual self-control when aiming. Really, my aim is very strangely black and white, and it's discouraging when I'm coming off a hot streak that I totally lose traction with my aim, because it makes me feel like I haven't at least retained any definite progress, and it's just a matter of whim. Any advice for becoming more consistent with the coordination?
    Also, I had this thought: By any chance is there something strange about the aim assist that leads to medium-skill players (the ones that aren't SO good that they transcend all of this) being streaky? Like perhaps the tiny buffer period between you and your opponent is either swayed for you or against you, and that affects whether your system can give as much aim assist? Because seriously, some games or some days my aim seems to snap on better, yet other days it feels painfully manual, like trying to catch a fly with tweezers. Any thoughts?

    When I was going for DM Ultra I was using SMGs and going for feeds playing super aggressive and I'd have awesome clips but often I'd get stuck trying to get into position for it now I've switched over to an AR main I hold the map and make it hell for anyone to try and cross. Playing league play really gave me a reality check I don't have the skills to rush super effectively in these newer games with crazy mobility so I switched to an AR and turns out I shoot pretty damn straight and have a nack for finding dirty ass lines of sight. However I'll still run an sub in SnD because I can handle 1v1s pretty well. I guess I pride myself in being versatile or the "Flex" player as the CDL calls it.

    When you get a bit older like me you can't rely on being super sweaty all the time. You slow down reaction wise so you have to become more cunning and reserved.
    If I get super sweaty then I have to take a break, sometimes in the same game.
    I've accepted I'm not going to be top of the leader board after the first SBMM kind game acti gives us all to get is hooked.

    I understand what you’re saying but man no one wants to constantly have to play like it’s Game 7 of the NBA Finals. The problem isn’t playing for dopamine the problem is the games are sometimes impossible to enjoy even if you’re winning and doing good. There’s no time to relax. No time for casual play. Every game feels like an esports tournament. Can’t even play with your friends anymore if they’re a lower skill level than you. SBMM puts them in your lobbies so they’ll get smacked every game worse than you are. There’s no fun in the games. It’s like a chore to play them.

    Great video, trying to go against the grain and getting the entire lobby against me/hunting for me has been my favorite part about CoD since I started in MW2.
    Let's admit it, riot shield/dangerclose/tac knife stabby hiding in corners jumping off roofs stuff is just good fun. especially when the enemy team has someone that gets salty about it. Lol
    I do not care that the one nuke I got was spent jumping between buildings I've laced with explosives and scavenging off everyone trying to stop me. It was like half hipfire and claymore kills but I only pulled it off because the entire enemy team didn't adapt and let me do it. Lol

    Think this fits this specific video so I’ll shoot. I have Damascus in MW and have had it for over a year at this point now, but I never got the crossbow and swords finished. My friends were offline the other night, so I decided to just grind them out and see what happened. After many matches of frustration, I had my match. 80-41 with a crossbow on shipment, finishing every challenge except long shots for the crossbow, I was high on life and COD spirit. Fast forward to the next day, I finish the swords in a similarly spectacular fashion, double quad feeds and finishing the camos.I go back to my normal search and destroy playlist after abusing skill based matchmaking for a day straight thinking I’m hot shit, and fail miserably at every attempt playing. It took me a little to get back into the groove and play smart, not trying to play like a top streamer and use classes that I performed well with instead of acting ballsy. Stay humble guys, we all suck.
