    Our remote bothies have to be protected mostly and some bothies do need protection, care less bothy visitors leaving trash, graffiti, reckless damage, etc spoil it for other more serious hikers but safety n respect for the blessing of remote bothies matters wherever you go. Could save lives. Great video. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👣💙🙏

      Hello Elizabeth thanks for reaching out, I do agree and is a shame people leave a mess its not difficult to take it away so its down to education and behaviour. There are a few private bothies they you need to book or not let on where they are. Damage and rubbish stands out more than the scenery which is such a shame but fingers crossed that can and will change.
      Thanks again for the comment

    Protection of our Highland Bothy Shelters isn't a bad thing. Bothies are a Blessing and could save lives. Any serious hiker would understand the need for geographic privacy. 👣💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

      Thanks for liking the videos, scroll through them and make use of the places i have been and maybe you might get to one or two of them in time when you feel ready. Its not a race and there is no rush, take your time and do it for you and what you need to get peace in wild camping or a bothy for that matter.

    I’ve seen that Bothy on a couple of videos, it is just amazing. I’m sure you had a great time with your brother catching up on things, and what a great place to do it.

    Oh thanks for the reply buddy I look forward to seeing your new video. I have been watching some bothy videos from other channels and watched some about the Grwyne Fawr bothy. I guess it's the U.K.'s smallest bothy. It looks really cool though and has a wood burning stove. The scenery is really nice around it. It has a small upstairs room. One guy said you might be able to fit 7 in it if you know each other well that was funny. I'm doing fine I'm a pretty tuff guy who has seen a lot in my life. You might have heard of this bothy.

      I would agree but since its not run or maintained by the Mountain Bothies Association its not seen as a priority. Its more a private bothy, so would be up to that owner to sort that.

    Hey great videos buddy. I'm a guy from California and watched your videos yesterday almost all of them. I saw the one where you were talking about mental health. I love camping but have also struggled with the same stuff you have like going out again. The prices of things have become way out of hand I admit. I mean in the U.S. is probably even worse. We also have a lot of violence problems here. Many guns are getting in the wrong hands and we have a lot of gang problems also. I'm turning 40 in August which is going to be a shock. The time has gone by quickly. Many people are scared to go to certain places here like big crowds or other places because some idiot might cause a mass shooting or something. I am not scared buddy you can't live life in fear like that.

    • @Campingonthewildsidescotland
      @Campingonthewildsidescotland  6 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the very eye opening and reality comment my friend. Its extremely difficult for many people and sad to hear about all the violence and gun crime its a very sticky one regarding the laws over there. Mental health is a top priority for all and needs tackled, getting out for starters will do the world of good to get away from the house and set foot in different surrounding, a big deal for those who struggle but the weight that leaves you is huge and the benefits that you get are as equal. I have to say we are lucky here in Scotland and the UK, we do have a lot more freedom to get out and don't have the same issues for violence and gun crime and wouldn't know how i would cope with that. I hope you find some peace and quiet in the countryside areas. Things will improve and if you make a plan and small goals and they work for you then thats all that matters.
      Thank you for watching the videos, that means a lot and hope you get something from them and put them to use over there.
      All the best
      Steve 👍

    what was the tape you used on your pot handles?

    • @Campingonthewildsidescotland
      @Campingonthewildsidescotland  6 месяцев назад +1

      Nothing special its just good old Duck tape, the metal under the original rubber is pretty thin so duck tape gave it that little body of grip. It could still melt i guess but i always keep an eye on it now lol

    Love the videos, but have to say I do find it irritating when you tubers share bids, and try to keep the location a secret. What's the big deal, it's not just your goodself BTW. It's very common amongst youtubers. Just a tad selfish in my view. But I do like the vids.

      The owners of this particular bothy have requested that people don’t publicly disclose the name or location as it is not owned or mentioned by the MBA.

    • @Campingonthewildsidescotland
      @Campingonthewildsidescotland  6 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for the comment, yeah it can be annoying in cases, the reason i didn't say where it was because i have seen others there and they didn't disclose where it was so kept that as a Curtis thing. I do understand where you are coming from so no offence taken.
      There are so many private bothies about, some you have to ask the owner for the key some you have to book in advance and others are just locked. They types of owners like to keep things low key.
      Cheers

    So If nobody is saying where it is , how did they all find out where it is in the first place ???? found it by chance …naw don’t think so, are you all masons or part of some secret society ?? Believe it or not there is decent people on the hills that not only respect the countryside but donate to it’s up keep . So aye I subscribed not only to your channel but some of your other secretive pals but not any longer pal. I believe (assholes apart ) Everyone deserves the beauty of our wee country so hope you enjoyed it

    • @Campingonthewildsidescotland
      @Campingonthewildsidescotland  9 дней назад

      Thanks for the comments, this bothy in particular is a private one and with the respect and wishes of the owner they prefer that people don't disclose where it is. You will probably find that there are many bothies like that around Scotland and some you have to pay a fee to stay in, thats just the way things are so if people get upset, angry or annoyed about it then hey it doesn't effect me in anyway shape or form. Check out the Mountain Bothies Association website there are many bothies in it that you can stay in and all fantastic in there own way.
      Steve 👍
