Love watching your reveiws but I cant help myself from giving a couple of corrections, the inboard suspension is to reduce un-sprung weight to improve handling and the key folds so if you bump into it after absent mindedly leaving it sticking out the lock it is less likely to snap. So there you go.
He says weight distribution when he talks about the suspension, which is a way to talk about unsprung weight. Believe it or not a vast majority of Doug's viewers would likely habe no idea what unsprung weight even relates to, so he's gotta make it more generic. As for the key, that's a good reason because I couldn't come up with any reason in my head as to why someone would struggle to "store" a key lol.
Hey Doug love your videos! I do miss those exterior shots with the car passing by you used to do in some old videos. That shots really give some nice sensation of the sound and how the car feel in movement! Wish you could bring that to the new videos, keep up the good work! Cheers
Doug, I'm surprised you didn't include some info. A: The V12 from 1990 F1 was only a 3.5L vs the 4.7L. This engine, the 4.7L, was also directly taken from the 333 SP, which was a successful racer and some magic from Ferrari in the early 90s. B: The unique configuration where the engine and trans are structurally integral and are physically part of the chassis. C: No mention of the even more ultra exclusive F50 GT. I believe there were only 6 chassis built and 3 factory cars completed. Changes included an extra 200Hp, sequential transmission, fully adjustable suspension and a weight reduction of 200Kg/440 lbs. They rear bodywork is also completely different with the huge wing and no rear window. They're truly a unicorn and worth mention.
The "lever down high beam" was a common thing on FIAT in those days and years before (if I remember well, never owned one). Greetings from Italy, come here we have a lot of curves.

I was so lucky to be close to both F40 and F50 because someone in my town named Carmack (know of him?) drove them like daily drivers. Not long ago I dug up my home vids and posted them.
the F50 has been my favorite ever since the Need for Speed High Stakes game also the 1989 Porsche 959 and the 550 Maranello also the Lamborghini Diablo SV Saleen S7
In 1996 I sold cars at a Mazda store in Memphis TN, Across the street was an exotic car dealership which had Porsche and Ferrari. They had a F50 on the showroom floor, I got to sit in it. It was soooooo Awesome.

I had a scale toy model of one of these growing up. It had steering that worked and also you could open the engine hatch to view a scale model of the engine. The hood at the front opened to show the radiator fans. It was all metal and not typical rosso corsa but yellow lol Doesn't matter the f50 was my favorite growing up in the mid 90s. Now being older, my Ferrari dream car is the F40 hahaha
I remember the day like yesterday driving along with my family when I was a kid, to the Ardennes, getting past near Francorchamps by a Ferrari F50. Roof open, couple with ear protection & caps on roaring past. What a car! Along with the F40 the ultimate poster boys of supercar heroism!
I think that's why he kept stressing "Ferrari says" when he talked numbers lol. Any other car he'd say (insert manufacturer here) made X amount once, and every time after he'd just say 1 of X amount. But he knows Ferrari and their funky numbers so he saved himself from the thousands of comments harping on him for believing the factory numbers haha
Ferrari may not have been lying about the production numbers for the F50, because they had the number of manufacture, within the total number made, unlike the Enzo, which has an interior emblem stating only that this car is "0ne of 399". And it doesn't mean "number one of 399".
I love this David Lee. He owns a lot of cool cars but he also knows everything there is to know about them. Sadly most modern supercars are now in the possession of oil sheikhs who forget they have them.
Not so sure. He really liked the 22B, and that one is facing right. Also, the RX8 is facing left, despite the fact that he specifically said that nobody should buy one.

Sorry. I won’t believe it.

Need for speed hot pursuit 2 made me love this car
I had a poster of this car on my wall growing up. I still love it.
Countless hours as a kid on Need for Speed Hot Pursuit with this car lol
Hey Doug love your videos! I do miss those exterior shots with the car passing by you used to do in some old videos. That shots really give some nice sensation of the sound and how the car feel in movement! Wish you could bring that to the new videos, keep up the good work! Cheers
When you can afford an f50, you can afford to hire a man to follow you in a Phantom with your luggage. Hence no trunk
Kinda facts. Expect I’m making him follow me in a Camry.
Why a phantom? A cullinan can carry more.
@@sivvinod3187 Yes, with a trailer to carry my Ferrari to the Destination i wish.

The F40 and later the F50 were my dream cars as a kid in the 90's so this was great. I wish it had the hardtop on though.
This car looks best with the hard top on, although it’s probably most fun to drive open top.
Just add the Carrera GT and Mclaren F1 to that list, and you have my dream cars as a kid from the 90
I was so lucky to be close to both F40 and F50 because someone in my town named Carmack (know of him?) drove them like daily drivers. Not long ago I dug up my home vids and posted them.

Doug: "Ferrari says they built only 350 of these..."
Ed Bolian: "Yeah, about that..."

@@leoa4c The 'Hemi' origin is in the block and heads. Particularly the head combustion chamber which is HEMIspherical, and which accommodated the vast refinements than get the engine to push out 11K+ BHP. Take off all the trappings [blower, dual magneto, timing gearplate, etc], and the block and heads will still bear a remarkable resemblance to an old-school HEMI. Particularly remarkable when you consider the disparity in output.
They continue to pimp the Hemi origin because they could have switched to another layout [BBChevy, etc] or even another paradigm [Straight6, or even rotary, or jets], but the bare bones of the HEMI continues to bear the additional demands modern NHRA puts on it.
