I wish my memory wasn't so terrible regarding Doom. I thought for instance that only one of those alcoves in the penultimate room was secret on the PC version, and it is actually both. I wouldn't mind but I saw a NM100S movie run of Inferno two weeks ago!
I hear the 'dun dun' and the first thing I think, "damn mouse". I was watching Resident Evil and in one of the diaries it talked about a monster looking like a shaved gorilla and the first thing I thought of were the Spectres. :P
"Sorta like a shaved gorilla, except with horns, a big head, lots of teeth, and harder to kill. Don't get too close or they'll rip your fraggin' head off." ― Doom Manual Description I saw this on the wiki.
You're not missing secrets, it sometimes doesn't tag them. I do have this problem in this map sometimes, where I know I went through all the secrets, but I still don't get 100%, because they didn't tag even when I went properly into them. I think it's problem of the TC version.
The only reason I have trouble beating this map on Nightmare is because I get confused on where the Blue Door is. Other than that I can beat this map no problem.
The levels in the PSX version are so painfully butchered, very few textures... massive areas of each level missing... really frustrating that even the snes version has more intact content in the levels than the other ports.
On the other hand, how many console ports of PC games back in the 90's turned out better than this? I would argue that it turned out incredibly, especially given the time and effort they put into improving the lighting and graphics - which incidentally they didn't need to do, as it would have sold regardless due to the lack of FPS competition on the PS1.

I have to find the copy I have, I think it should still have the booklet.

Akruzhael Thank you! That would be it!

AltimaMantoid, do you have a southern or Appalachian accent?
Anouther BFG? They really want you to have one.
I know, right? o_o Although to be FAIR... this is the original map that introduced the BFG.

On the flip-side, there are 59 maps against the SNES's something like 21?
Well the snes was only doom 1. The psx has both games so would obviously have more levels.
