I really like the Polynesian vibes of this resort every time I visit it. It’s on my resort bucket list.
The Poly is my favorite resort. Stayed there twice. The first time was 1994. We had two lagoon view rooms for $170 per night per room, and stayed 6 nights.
We stayed at the Polynesian for the first time this past October. It is a hotel I never in a million years thought I’d be able to stay in because of the price tag. But, thanks to DVC point rental, we were able to knock it off our bucket list. I loved it so much, I’d be hard pressed to ever stay anywhere else again. We came home and immediately booked it again for October 2024. I can’t wait to be back!!! Thank you Quincy!!!

This is my favorite resort to visit. Ohana is amazing! And you can’t miss going to pineapple lanai for a dole whip.

Out of the three monorail resorts, i think this one is the winner for best resort of the 3 (this does not include their DVC counterparts, that is a whole different animal). It's not super fancy like Grand Floridian and doesn't have an identity crisis like at the contemporary with those awful new incredible's themed rooms. The vibes at the Poly make you feel like you are on a vacation and that goes for the Moana themed rooms which are perfect theme for the Poly. They want you to relax and enjoy it there. If i had to spend $700+ a night at one of these 3 monorail resorts, i would pick the Poly no questions asked.
We are staying at the Poly for the first time in May...can't wait. We've eaten at O'hana twice & it's delicious. The vibe of the Polynesian is awesome & the convenience of the monorail & the boats can't be beat!

I stayed here at Christmas in 2022. It was absolutely the best!!! I booked here for next December yesterday. I tried really hard to force myself to stay elsewhere, but I think I'm just hooked. Trader Sams is on my bucket list and also I want to just enjoy the hotel more. Really it's like going to Hawaii, but Disney is just a heartbeat away.
We’re staying there for the first time in June.
Finally, stayed there for the first time this past December by renting dvc points. Did like the room, mouse keeping staff was top notch, lighted tiki torches at night was special, and being so close to the TTC was incredibly convenient. HOWEVER, the GCH was always packed. Big lines for the resort monorail. Captain Cooks is way too small for the amount of people staying there. The layout is very confusing to navigate and the construction impacted the ability to walk to the Grand Floridian forcing you to take boat, bus or water transportation. It’s just way too crowded everywhere at the resort. As beautiful as the resort is and how much I really wanted to love it, I won’t be staying there again. One and done for me.
When you review DVC properties, could you also include the cost in points?
What You Need To Know Before You Stay At Disney's Polynesian Village Resort--is simple. It will ruin you for every other hotel you ever stay in. This is the best; forget the stuffy expensive GF and the awful new rooms at the Contemporary--THIS is the finest resort in Disney World Plain and simple.

Yikes, those prices. I love this hotel and visiting it for dinner is a key part of any trip, but I think Beach Club or Boardwalk is as high as I go for lodging these days.
I go in June any recommendations on what to do there after parks close like what time is pool open until?
I will be visiting in August, and really looking forward to it! Anyone stay in Fiji with a water view? Looking at the map, it seems like lake view is questionable at best, and maybe get a little water.

They are building a new DVC tower, but the rest of the resort is not under construction.
How frequent does the ferry come? If I take the monorail from MK is poly the next stop?
We used to stay at Poly a lot back in the day when the monorail resorts and the Fort were the only game in town if you wanted to stay on property. It was the cheapest of them. Now, we tend to stay at the Epcot resorts. I'm not a fan of the fact you have to go outside to get to the lobby and transportation, I am also not a fan that you are force to take the monorail to Epcot, which we go to every single day of a trip. I in the minority that I'd rather take a bus instead. So, if I can't find an Epcot resort for the right price, I'll stay at CSR instead.
