  • In this video I show you how to fit an aftermarket exhaust to your new 125cc. It's fairly straightforward and can save you a fair few pounds doing it yourself.
    I also do a sound comparison.

      I'm not a fan after working on this one if I'm being honest, they are to touchy and hard to tune. It's a right pain. It's bevause I can't get my hand in to tune the carb when it's running. If I could it would be solved in no time.

      @@motorcyclerescuer Subscribed. I have enjoyed your videos especially the varadero one as i have one myself and recently been setting up the carbs. It was running on the rich side on the rear cylinder you could smell the unburnt fuel and they was'nt balanced right. All sorted now you can feel the power difference when pulling away and accelerating. It was kinda sluggish before and bogged down a bit. and the exhaust fumes are now clearer too.

    • @motorcyclerescuer
      @motorcyclerescuer  3 года назад +2

      @@LeeKirkman88 that's good, my one was a right pain but I got there in the end. Yanaha used very weird jetting and needles in these carbs so if you don't follow their set up perfectly they run like crap.
      I would be curious to see if jetting them both the same would improve the running of these bikes.
      Some say yanaha jetting one of the carbs differently to restrict the bike to get it to be 125cc bhp compliant in the UK.
      That would be an interesting experiment

    • @LeeKirkman88
      @LeeKirkman88 3 года назад +1

      @@motorcyclerescuer yeah the service manual for the varadero says the rear should be set lower 3cm i think when balancing the carbs. And some say that also is to restrict its power. I've just balanced mine equally and seems to pull alot stronger.

      @@motorcyclerescuer they come with a bolt. The same as the one they hold the end can… you have two spacers which make it fit properly. Its not supposed to be drilled. It says it on the instructions. I was about to drill a hole as well while watching this video…

      Mine was bought over 2 years ago. The original kit they sent may have been different. They may have perfected it now. But in my kit the mid section securing hole wasn't in the right place so needed moving by a few mm as seen in the video.
      There really is no issue drilling a slightly bigger hole or a new one if needed. This exhaust is still on his bike today and going strong.
