The Tragic Story Of Lil Pump
    Discord: / discord
    Twitter: / boolosity
    Instagram: / boolosity
concepts: Lil pump, lilpump, Lil Pump Fall Off, Smokepurpp, Lil Pump Interview, Lil Pump NFT
From mainstream success garnering fans in the millions thanks to his repetitive minimalistic (and slightly grating) sound - to a series of commercial failures even while still being one of the most talked about people on social media, Lil Pump was victim to one of the harshest fall offs the music industry has ever seen, and has been trying to claw it back every step of the way.
If you’ve been on twitter in the past week you might have seen this video of Lil pump with a new look denouncing his past delinquency. Maybe you saw this (now deleted) video posted last year by XXL of pump in japan seemingly being completely ignored by the general public and being surprised that he is so unknown. Either way if you were around in 2016 to see his massive rise to success and even a collaboration with Kanye - before all the recent escapades - you’ll be shocked to learn the true story of how we got here…
But before we get to that we have to go back to the start to understand a little more about Gazzy Garcia, before he became Lil Pump.
Gazzy Garcia was born on August 17, 2000, in Miami, Florida to two Colombian parents who divorced when he was only six years old. Not much is known about Gazzys upbringing but it’s fair to assume he wasn’t a typical suburban kid, in fact he grew up in some pretty tumultuous surroundings. He was a bad kid by all means, being expelled for fighting and creating problems at every school he attended. His behavior was so bad that he was sent to a school for troubled youths, and it was here where in tenth grade he incited a riot in the school leading to police involvement and his expulsion. If even the school specifically for troubled youths doesn't want you, it’s hard to see yourself working with any school.
Gazzy had no direction and at 15 years old he started selling drugs, as he had no other real options. That was until his friend who he’d met two years prior would work with him on one project that would change his life forever…
But before we get into that, I’d like to thank the sponsor of today's video ExpressVPN
That man who changed Gazzys life and was instrumental in Lil Pump coming to be was Omar Pineiro better known as Smokepurrp, another one of music's biggest fall off merchants, but at the time an up and coming musician who had also been kicked out of a number of high schools. The two hit it off, coming from similar backgrounds being a similar age and both looking for an outlet.
Pumps rap career started when Smokepurpp produced a track and asked Pump to freestyle over it, with this song going on to be Lil Pumps first single titled “Lil Pump” released on soundcloud in 2016. This was quickly followed with singles "Elementary", "Ignorant", "Gang Shit", and "Drum$tick", each garnering over three million streams - an amazing start for any artist. Things really started to get serious over the next few releases in 2017, being the singles "D Rose" and "Boss", which were major hits on SoundCloud, collecting a combined 70 million streams. Following this success Pump signed a record deal with Tha Lights Global and Warner Records, just two months before his seventeenth birthday. However, in January 2018, his contract with Warner Bros. Records was voided because he had been a minor at the time of signing. Next came the definite peak of Pump's career when In July 2017, he announced through Twitter that his debut mixtape was in the works and would be released in August. The album was not released in August and was pushed back, but this might have been the best decision he ever made.
He instead released the song "Gucci Gang", which became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry, peaking at number three on November 8, 2017. The song was certified gold and platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America on January 11, 2018, and as of July 31, 2018, is certified triple platinum. If you know anything about Lil Pump, it’s this song. Coming out during the “clout” internet era with characters like ricegum, supreme patty, lil tay and bhad bhabie commanding the attention of the general public, pumps music and public persona made him fit right in with this crowd.

IRS placing a lien on his home doesnt mean they've seized it.. it means if he ever tries to sell the home IRS gets paid before he does. When you take out a mortgage on a house the lender gets first lien on the home and owns your title. Obviously that doesnt mean they seized your home, it just means if you ever sell they get paid before you do. now IRS has a second lien on the home, so after lender gets paid, IRS gets paid next, if anything is left after those two liens are paid then Pump gets paid the remainder, assuming there arent any other liens. If you dont pay a contractor or someone else who does work on your home, they can also place a mechanics lien against your home. He still owns the home and is allowed to live there for the time being. Liens generally accrue interest too, i know with a mechanics lien interest is 11% annually, so on a 1.6 million dollar debt, thats $176,000 a year in additional interest. which seems to be the case, since his IRS bill is up to 2 million dollars as of August 23. if the debt nears the value of the home they will likely seize it and put it up for auction to repay his tax burden.

It's always about that stuff. But most of it is like most of the rap music is And all they just listen to is the instrumental when mumble wrappers are wrapping about this stuff, it's crazy to believe that we live in a generation where kids are like. Oh, we just look up to that and think it's real. No, the fuck it's not listen to Eminem, bro. Fuck all these mumble rappers

Eh I mean I used to hate on him back in the day when I was younger, but lowkey I mean I really don't care anymore. It isn't that serious. He got big, made some money, drifted off. I'd count that as a win for him.. & still gets 1-5m views on his songs. Not like he's a genuine bad guy (to my knowledge), maybe a bit of a drug addict now most likely due to fame & money but that's to be expected.

There’s nothing tragic about the inevitable downfall of a talentless goof who blew off everyone from actual talented artists giving advice to promoters who knew he wasn’t worth the same money actual artists are worth. If anything it was his rise to fame that was tragic, because it was part of an era that watered down and ultimately ruined hip hop… at least for people with both ears and brains who don’t accept nursery rhyme level “rapping” as music worth listening to in any meaningful way. Which leads to a piece of advice for aspiring artists- replay value should be a key focus. Make music that people will listen to for decades, not months. How do you do that? I don’t have all the answers but I know one component for sure- write lyrics worth listening to in the first place. And when you look like you sell Molly in gay bars, don’t play a thug role

"Gucci gang, Gucci gang, Gucci gang" How can these lyrics not be considered amongst the greats? These lyrics rival those of 2pac and Nas.

Fk it, I'm gonna a "remix" called "Dolce Raid", make millions, and then have an even bigger falloff. It's going to make this the falloff of this kid, sixnine, and smoke purp all combines look like they're the're currently the most popular musicians to ever exist.

0:29 he wasn't a nobody in japan because of his failed music career, he was a nobody in japan because it's japan. you'd have to be michael jackson level famous to be recognized overseas/in a country as far as japan. even if he went to japan during the peak of his music career, he'd still be a nobody there.

Man, seeing this kind of stuff really makes my hindsight vision even sharper than usual. If I would have ever in a million years thought that I could have made millions of dollars from music, by just talking sh^t on social media and just saying the most idiotic and nonsensical stuff so long as it rhymed, well sorta, I'd still be broke today because I would have also spent all of that money within a few years on cocaine and, WHOOOOOOOOAS!
But, I don't think I'd go as far as dressing like the Disco Inferno once I finally cleaned up.
