Misogyny and racism will exist regardless, I don't think we should let that stop us from being able to communicate effectively. And most ppl mute toxic players in their games alteady anyway, I see no reason why they shouldn't add vc

Game chat would make the draft part of the game so much more fun to work together picking your team, but I think voice chat should just be ranked imo so us casuals can escape the hardos

I never got into Valorant just because it wasn't my type of game. But I was always jealous of my Valorant friends getting a good voice chat system. Crazy that it's the same game studio too lol.

Is Voice chat worth your mentality in terms of your Ranked Teammates yelling down the mic if you missed smite?: Probably not.

League needs a system similar to the one in COD where every time you get killed by someone the voice comms between you and the one that killed you and vice versa open up for a brief period to encourage that sweet competitiveness between players, if you know what I mean ; )

True, this game really needs voice chat, it's much fun to talk or trash talk with your teammates, even if we lost match in CS2 , teammates talking about some random shit and makes it win win, because you had "Fun" while playing game and talking with random persons, because human is a social creature

I think voice chat would cause a lot of problems and I personally wouldn't enjoy it, but it would definitely make high elo more competitive and the potential positive experiences of voice chat would be really fun.

no because most people tend to behave when they are actually speaking with someone and if not then just mute them same as you alrdy do in chat
idk why they remove everything from pings to not good workling chat bot if u can just full mute someone completly...
Sadly they will never add it, if they get triggered by pings and decide to REMOVE THEM then there is NO way they will add voice chat

Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch may be very different from League, but the voice chat experience does make them a lot more enjoyable for me. Imo the positives outweigh the negatives, especially because we already have voice chat Valorant and it's considered pretty well moderated, all things considered

Riot has always had this mindset of trying to make league a 100% safe game for everyone. But the reality is, we do not live in an utopic world where everything is perfect and everyone goes along. There are always gonna be mentally ill people using the internet. Everyone knows VC in league would be benificial 90% of the time. This is for sure a good implementation for solo queue. They don't even have the decency to test it out for a couple of weeks to see how it goes. If you live your life with this same mentality Riot Games has, you'll never do anything because you're too afraid of that small chance it goes wrong...

I don't agree with every point, but the big one I do agree with wholeheartedly is that toxicity would decrease because the average league flamer is unironically too much of a coward to say the same things in comms. The keyboard warriors and the "hehe xd im not even trying that why I'm 0/4 at 12 minutes who even cares about this game I'm on my alt :^)" types really wouldn't be able to handle it.

Playing with voice chat would make it feel more of a chore even pros in champion q could't be asked to play because of voice chat
Even pros find it hard to communicate in league clearly
Team fights would be a mess it's not simple commands like in CSGO where the calls are simple a long etc
NA everyone speak clear english EUW most peoples english is second language broken un clear english would make it annoying

As a trans woman I CONSTANTLY get harassed immediately, I still want league to have voice chat though, because as long as there's an 'opt out' option, then it doesn't negatively affect me, and it positively affects the majority

Yes, YES, YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS, As a filthy Splitpusher that likes to play around complex decision making that I have no time to type out, a lot of times I can lose or lose a big moment to out macro the enemy just because I can't Fight somebody and tell my team what to do at the same time..
Common example: JG walking topside when I'm weak early and can't follow up on invades/fights etc, sometimes they can't tell why I can't come because we would lose anyway, while if I had voice, I could explain it quickly and we don't commit to the play or stall it out to give me time to come.
Basic example: a lot of times people get toxic and annoyed because people aren't on the same page, thus get angry at each other for not doing X, Y or Z, without knowing the reason, why this was done, sometimes it's legit knowledge diff on matchups, lanes or w.e. since most the time arguements are done between the JG and X Laner if not just botlane cussing eachother out cause they're not duo and can't see eye to eye on the same play outside of pinging to go in, or ??? When they miss play.
Niche example: I play Yorick, a lot of times I legit release maiden or send my ghouls in another lane with a cannon wave, the cannon will tank the tower shots, giving the ghouls time to melt the tower, once their tower goes down and they notice ghouls or Maiden with Ghouls, they'll have to back and we can Siege anything we want.
But most of the time I'm spam pinged to move to X location, while I'm waiting to release Maiden (She has a 10s CD before I can release her once spawned)
Or I can send Ghouls or maiden down a lane, and wait for them to go far enough so I can raise 4 Ghouls, without having the nearby ones die and be replaced, since Yorick can't have more than 4 Ghouls around them, so from their POV, I', just standing still, meanwhile I'm waiting for my pets to be out of range so I can spawn the ghouls from graves and take them to the fight..
AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THIS FKN PARAGRAPH I CAN'T EXPLAIN HALF OF THIS SHT TO MY TEAMMATES EVER IN TIME OR UNDERSTANDING, So they don't know to stall, or what im doing, or that I can't make my ghouls follow me, cause if they see an enemy wave they'll leave, once again, me legit clearing a wave or letting it walk away before I can raise them..

Riot just has a stupid approach to combat toxicity. I love what DOTA, instead of hardcore combating it, they turn it to comedic relief instead, makes it more of a joke. dota has voice coms since the start, and i personally think they are way less toxic there despite having stuff like “loser” spray or something like “get owned”. I think riot takes the game far too seriously, even more than the pro players themselves who literally makes a living by playing their game. This leads to more stress which brings even more toxicity. If you watch High immortal Dota 2 lobbies, or even your average Archon game, you will find that toxic voice coms is alot lower than you might think. Hell, some players might not even have a mic to begin with, or just never speaks. However, they still listen when you are using coms, as long as your mic isnt shit or you callout useless shit

well that wouldnt rly make sense since youre always subconsciously listening to the coms from your teammates through pings anyways

Me, a woman, only playing League since its the only game where I can be judged on my skill and not immediately become the target of every insult a gamer can come up with (not using VC just gets you flamed, its League)

@@lolsnowball_When you are a woman in any space where there is little accountability and not an overwhelming presence of women, you are targeted for being a woman, and there is nothing you can do. You already understand that reasoning with most LoL players is almost impossible. Now imagine having to explain how you, a woman, are competent enough to be in that place, to people who usually don't even care (or to come up with excuses not to use VC, which will put your team at a disadvantage, make you miserable and might get them theorizing [League is team heavy, so that will be harder than in FPS games] ). Its really nice that in League I can play without being told things about my "purpose for existing", my "nature" and things that can be done to my private parts, and that is probably why League has more girls playing than usual.
i understand. but you're wrong, you just don't know it. the reason i say that is because you said "imagine having to explain to random people how you're a woman who's good enough" no matter who you are, whether theres VC or not, trying to explain ANYTHING to ANYONE being toxic is the biggest waste of your time. even if you didn't mean that literally, you have the idealogy that you *need* to prove to others why you're good enough, which you don't. for your last point, yeah i understand, but like i said, if muting people in modern league of legends is not only preached by the playerbase but also by riot themselves, then just mute people who bother you@@electraheart5749
@@lolsnowball_ Here is the thing: you won't be able to play normally, and people usually grief when not given what they want. Chat is mostly used to flame, voice chat will likely also be used to strategise. You might tell me at this point: get a voice changer. That might be a solution, nowdays voice changers have become better and will continue improving. That however won't solve the rest of the problems that come with adding a means to instantly flame and tilt your teammates, or yourself when they mute you, to a completely team based game (its also pretty damn sad to have to use a programm to make your voice deeper, which I am sure won't solve everything because League players can get hung up on any aspect of yourself, even usernames, so they will definitely get hung up on your tone of voice and accent). Here's a solution, the only solution: make people choose between a voice chat and non-voice chat queue. If its not implemented that way, League will become another game I am not able to play

i think this goes both ways like yeah it will be better for comp but you are also giving trolls who just make alts and alts and alts to be toxic to ppl a way to be more toxic like even yesterday i was warming up with a bot game cause it had been a while and someone 3 min in was being racist till they got a chat bad for actually using a slur
yeah but remember, people who will be racist will be racist regardless, BUT people who are toxic now would ON AVERAGE be less toxic with voice chat based on my observations

Every game with voice chat has that toxicity moment, shit happens imo. Ive been bashed and ive bashed, it goes both ways but ultimately being restricted to text which has no tone and pings which is just a robotic way ro communicate, there's very little room for strategy outside individual skill. Voice chat also has a higher likelihood of leaving the game with new friends and more comradery. The fact that league doesnt have voice chat but every other moba and riots own valorant does is a crime. I agree and have said for years, voice chat would make league less toxic. If shit hits the fan in comms, theres a mute button but i like to strategize and compete. Id take muting and being muted here and there for a better experience over all. Tl;dr, video goo and voice chat required.

There's no argument you can make against voice chat. If you don't wanna use it just mute then. League of legends is one of the most competitive games to exist. It's insane that there still isn't VC.

I really dont understand why they do not add voicechat. If someone were to get alot of reports as a result of them being toxic in vc, you could just restrict their access to it.

so... no voice comms in League, a Global game bacuse of the US, their racial issues nice. just add vc to europe and asia. and let people mute its as simple as that, the women that fear being targeted in VC simply dont talk in vc, like they do in all other games including valorant, and league party chat. the ones that do talk simply dont give a fuck and are capable of clapping back and handling themselves.

Make it so that you can mute people’s voice chat individually
If someone gets reported by 2 or more teammates during a game, they should get muted for everyone on their team automatically (this isn’t permanent though, if they cooled off you should be able to unmute them manually)
