- When it comes to vacations, Southerners love going to the beach and the lake. But which one offers the better vacation experience? That's what Ryan and Donna are here to hash out!

Ryan is correct about sand. Three weeks after leaving the beach and you're still finding sand in your shoes and luggage.
You're lucky if those are the only places you are still finding sand ...
Lol, I've got sand in my car from 2011, lol!!! You can NEVER get all of it, and I've only added to it from all the other beaches I've been to since then😅🏖️
If you live there, you don't even notice it.
video didn't finish yet but I'm team Lake. You don't have to worry about seagulls and strangers coming up on you and stealing your stuff or food. NO sand flies. You can hear yourself talk and think. No extreme wind like there always is at the beach. Sand. You can never....NEVER get rid of sand. Just like glitter it is every where. For the lake, you have grass you can relax on. You can have a safe picnic. You can set up a tent and not worry about it blowing away. It's nice and relaxing and quiet. You can even rent a cabin depending on where you are. If you run into trouble swimming, at least it will be easier and faster for someone to find your body. No sharks in lakes.
Wow, great arguments!! You would have been great in this debate. I do wonder which beach you have gone where people steal your food. Although, I think there are many flaws to beach travel, I have never had some stranger steal my food from my tent or chair.
I snort-laughed at the 'easier to find your body...' at the end... 😂 Thanks for the unique perspective!
CONGRATS RYAN. I'm lake all day long. I get nauseous in beach water, it's way too hot, the sand gets everywhere, and it's way way to crowded.
4th of July, we live by the beach & the line of traffic is off the chats. I'm a beach person, but Ryan really won me over.
I use to live in Wilmington nc. Locals always stayed away from the beach. One year in my 20s a bunch of friends and me went there for the day. We got there at like 5am and made it an all day event. Lol
Team Beach. Love the sound of waves rolling in; makes me feel something deep and primal.
Please have a Hash Out over biscuits vs. corn bread.
No matter what, Ryan is the most adorable of all the contestants. I do love Donna too. She is cool.
I used to go to the beach a lot as a kid and teen. When I was 20 something I was invited to my friend’s lake house. It was great. I really enjoyed the lake more than the ocean. My brothers’ family has a lake house. I love being there. As for gators, I don’t live anywhere near them. You don’t need to worry about kids on their floats going out to sea. No worries about jellyfish either. The only negative for me is having to wear pool/beach shoes in and out of the lake.
Yay Ryan!! Team Lake! Especially if there is no cell service. Unplugging is one of the best things about a vacation. I can get the sounds of the beach anywhere...the lake is true experience.
Who needs the beach when you can visit the skeech?
😂
😂😂😂
What's a skeech, please?
@@catwhisperer9489 Lol, watch the video and you'll see😉🤭
Ryan and the lake are the best choise.
I love the lake! Definitely prefer it over the beach. Both are good though.
I agree with you! Ryan was more persuasive! Donna did a great job too. Have fun at the lake! Parking in a spot with your family for a few days sounds wonderful!
Vacation, not a day trip. Vacation means you are taking more than one day to relax and to get away from everything. Team Lake.
Best Southern vacation ... Sitting in front of the open fridge with a pint of peach ice cream and a pitcher of sweet tea ...
I was confused by Ryan at first until I realized that his "going to the lake" is our version of "heading to the cottage".
Two words say it all about going to the lake instead of the beach. No SHARKS!
Love my girl Donna and I live in an area with lots of beaches...but lake vacations are better.
I'm so glad you gave it to Ryan. He deserved that win!
I'm happy for Ryan. He really deserved his win.
Mountains. Beautiful, serene, tranquil, not to mention cool, and often less crowded.
YAY!!! Send that great judge on a good vacation at the lake!
I nailed it when he talked about the jellyfish and the sand. He could’ve touched on the fact that you come home with a ton of sand every time you go to the beach, however, job well done by both.. see ya at the lake😊😊😊❤❤😊😊
Come up north to Northern Michigan and do both. The "Lake" is one of the great lakes and can give you an ocean feel without the salt. And most of the beaches have sand. You'll also get the wake from boats like a lake.
Lake everytime..I only need two points to argue.
1. No sand everywhere for months
2. No crowds
I am Team Beach. But I am glad that Ryan won one.
Lake lover.
Team lake for sure. No crowds, no sharks, no rip tides.
The beach is nice till you get stung by jellyfish and have to have them pulled off you.
Amazing do one where its a battle between flying and driving
I'm a beach girl all the way! There are alligators at the lake! I was taught to NEVER swim in fresh water because of that! Ryan is adorable and I'm glad he won but the beach is better!
The video came out a minute ago how did ur comment go 5 days ago
What lakes are you swimming in?
@@CoincidenceRRit was unlisted before it released only found in the Hash Out playlist

No alligators in the lakes in VA. Also no sharks, riptides, manta rays, jellyfish . . .
The lake is better because you can have a private dock. More control I'm with you Ryan.
Beach. Period.
How about those Texas beaches with Hurricane Beryl on its way there? 😂
@@rcschmidt668 beaches are always superior, even when a hurricane hits.
I'm Team Bayou, personally. I live in one of the two cities around my local one, and today, they did their "Lights Out On The Bayou" thing, which is an around 15-25 min fireworks show that they do every 4th of July. I watched it from a fair way away from it, and it was still pretty cool to watch. One of the two parks along that bayou even has a micro beach of sorts. My family doesn't go to the beach at all that much and prefers to go to the more woodsy state parks, even though we live pretty close to the beach. With all that said, I'm more towards Team Lake with Ryan. One of the cities close to ours has a lake named after the guy that the city is named after, and they do a festival around it supposedly every year. My family only found out about it this year, and it was pretty cool to go to, except for the heat and humidity.
If you go to the Midwest, they have beaches on the lakes. The greatest of lakes mind you. The Great Lakes. The best of both sides.
And it's not hot all the time like the gulf coast.
The river is definitely the best!
I’m beach all the way! 🏖️
I 100% already knew it was Dr Pepper even if he was off the clock just because that's the true drink of the South right next to Sweet Tea also Lakes all the way. No riptides you can hide under some trees to get out of the sun and you can camp close by
Ryan, hands down gave a better argument. It may be because I live at the beach and am no longer thrilled to get out in that tree-less scorched earth we call the beach. 🏖
Team Lake!!!! So happy Ryan won💜
Once when at the lake with friends (ever notice that all you have to say is "the lake" and not the name of any specific lake?), I concocted a yarn about the "Pennsylvania crocodile." How a local college brought in some crocs for research in the 50s and a couple of them got away and crocs have been living in the local lakes and rivers ever since. Scared a couple of the girls so much they refused to to anywhere near the water!
Poor Ryan, someone give him a hug after that jammer session. Congratulations Ryan 🎉!!
I'm glad for Ryan. He been Ginger Rogers against Diane and Donna's Fred Astaire. Those ladies brought their A games, but he really worked hard and even though he had to dance backwards in high heels (I'm referring to the Jammer) he managed to pull off a win. Taiia and Diane should be an epic match!
Nobody’s ever bought a candle that smells like the lake. (think algae and dead fish) But how many things are ocean breeze, tropical paradise, summer sands, scented, etc..
The husband prefers the lakes. I prefer the beach. So we compromise and stay home. 🤣
As for the debate, the sand is probably why Ryan won that one. Donna mentioned the sunrises. The best is having a balcony right on the beach, so you can sit and watch the sunrise and listen to the waves. 🌅🌊💙
mountains all the way which have awesome lakes
That was awesome! Ryan going crazy hearing himself was great
As a Midwesterner I know it's possible for a lake to have beaches (Great Lakes, anyone?) And, yes I've gotten into arguments with Southerners over this, but I've been to lake beaches, so I know.
Team Lake see the beach has jelly fish, sharks, rip tides and here in Florida this week many of our beaches have a high fecal count. To be honest I wouldn't want to go to a lake in Florida because of alligators. So I pick a swimming pool
I’d say the lake is for living at with your pontoon boat, friends, and neighbors with food at the marina. The beach is for vacations with the condo door slid wide open and the AC still on high, sunrises and sunsets depending on where you are, and nothing but tasty seafood until you leave to go back home to the lake.
Great job Ryan!
Totally agree, lakes are better!
🎉YAY🎉 Ryan got his medal 🥇!!!!
Beach all the way. Lakes are only really fun if you own a boat. You only won because Kevin felt sorry for you, Ryan.
He is right about sand though. It's rough and course and it gets everywhere.
Good arguments from both sides! Definitely a tough decision to make as a judge. Ryan did amazing with the speech jammer after he got used to it haha!
That makes a lake with a beach, like my local lake, the best place for a vacation.
Love you Ryan but I prefer the beach! One week a year is NOT enough for me, I can go to the lake anytime!😊
Agree that Ryan won the second and third round to earn the gold. Donna definitely won the first round.
Ryan is the true winner today 🎉🎉🎉
Just got back from the beach and it was nice breeze… that’s all. Plus heading back husband was reading about someone getting attacked by a shark in the southern part of Texas 🥹 I’m team lake ❤❤❤
I'm a beach girl all the way. But Ryan has made me want to find the nearest lake!
Very nice video
Beach all the way, but Ryan needed a win.
RYAN!!!! SHARKS!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Beach: sand in all the wrong places, traffic, rip tides, relentless sun, walking on hot asphalt to get there, jellyfish, crowds
Lake: cabin nearby, peace and quiet, shady banks, privacy, feeding the ducks, swimming without large predators
Happy Independence Day y'all
Lots of shade at the lake
Sand everywhere really sucks. Almost as bad as Pac10 as a conference. Oh, that's right it's gone (almost).
"When you're vacationing and going to the beach, you do that - go to the beach; don't go to the ocean. The ocean is the shark's house." - Veronica-Pooh Nash
No, I don't agree with your ruling. I'm a Lake girl, but Donna honestly had the better presentation.
I lived on the beach in North Carolina. It gets old unfortunately and when you move away you miss it hardcore. I live by lake Norman in North Carolina. Both have their pros ans cons. I am 50 50 on both. But the beach has 10 times better fishing
This will be the first SEC football season on ABC/ESPN. There will probably be enough people who'll press the mute button and play the CBS college football song on their phones at the start of each game, probably enough to make a sketch about it.
Go to Gulf Shores State Park in Gulf Shores, Al. you got the gulf shores beach just outside the park and a big freshwater lake and trails inside.
Gators in the lake and sharks in the gulf. Both are as afraid of you as you are of them.
Good choice this time, Adam!
Adam is a great game show host. 👍🏽
Congrats Ryan 🎉
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY IT'S A SOUTHERN THING 🇺🇸🎂😊
Jubilee, when all the seafood comes ashore to be eaten.
Ryan wins it.
i agree!
Lakes have mosquitos!
Lakes..... Just not in the deep South.😅😅😅😅 let me rephrase... Alligator free lakes.
Lake = bugs galore
Beach = sand and spring / summer breakers
Either is more fun than working
Ryan all tbe way
I'm team (gator free) lake!
Beach trip is better after Labor Day, less crowded, cheaper
I'm Team Mountain
Too many people at the Beach
The lake not having Cell Service is a good thing...
At the lake, you could trade sharks and seagulls for snakes and mosquitoes. Just saying neither is perfect, just as there are different experiences at different beaches and different lakes.
Im.more of a mountain vacation in the fall kind of gal.
Have you tried the Strawberries and Creme Dr Pepper though?
The beach is the gulf coast.
Combine the two, the Great Lakes have beaches.
Team lake. All that salt water getting in your mouth at the beach.
Lakes because the Beach be Salty.
Waaaaay less gators at the beach.
Yes, there may be sharks and jellyfish and Portuguese Man of War in the ocean, but if you’re up on the beach, that’s not gonna get you. ALLIGATORS come out of the water and they grab pets and small children that are minding their own business on the shore. That’s enough to give the beach the win.
Lakes are accessible to regular people. You can live on a lake without being a millionaire and without fearing sea level rise.
Lakes are too bug-y for me. Although I hate sand as well. I'm not a fan of sunbathing or bathing anyway. So neither.
