  • Today let's learn how to count numbers in Taiwanese language (hokkien) from 1~10000 in 2 minutes!
    Even though in my channel I mainly teach Chinese, but if you are living in Taiwan or you are interested in Taiwanese culture, I really suggest you to learn some basic Taiwanese, because after all, Taiwanese is our local dialect.
    If you know some simple Taiwanese phrases, you will immediately have better connection with local people! If you can speak good Taiwanese, you might be able to listen to some Taiwanese elders share some precious history story with you so you know our culture better.

    Some numbers are similar with our Tai Khampti of Arunachar Pradesh (India) like we count 1,2,3.. As lung=1, song=2, Sam=3, Si=4, Ha=5, Hook=6, Chit=7, Pet=8, Kau=9, Sip=10, sip eight=11...

    What is the big difference of taiwanese language vs mandarin language coz I am so confused thank you..

    • @ceciliachenchinese
      @ceciliachenchinese  3 года назад +2

      The biggest difference is the accent and the characters.
      In Taiwan we don't pronounce : Zhi, chi, shi, ri, r that much with tongue curling.
      In Taiwan we use traditional characters, in main land China they use simplified Chinese 🙂

      95% of the way you count in Taiwanese is the same as Teochew. I would say it’s safe to say the other 5% lies in slight variation but as a teochew speaker I could catch on pretty quick.
