- Today let's learn how to count numbers in Taiwanese language (hokkien) from 1~10000 in 2 minutes!
Even though in my channel I mainly teach Chinese, but if you are living in Taiwan or you are interested in Taiwanese culture, I really suggest you to learn some basic Taiwanese, because after all, Taiwanese is our local dialect.
If you know some simple Taiwanese phrases, you will immediately have better connection with local people! If you can speak good Taiwanese, you might be able to listen to some Taiwanese elders share some precious history story with you so you know our culture better.

Hello Taiwanese friends! Why is learning Hokkien / Taiwanese important to you?
someone figured out POJ and Tai lo at the end. good job!!
😊😁 I check online dictionary
@@ceciliachenchinese glad I showed you the tools and also said you could do it. happy for you and for your benefit please keep using the dictionary.
Some numbers are similar with our Tai Khampti of Arunachar Pradesh (India) like we count 1,2,3.. As lung=1, song=2, Sam=3, Si=4, Ha=5, Hook=6, Chit=7, Pet=8, Kau=9, Sip=10, sip eight=11...
very interesting 💖 Thanks for sharing
@@ceciliachenchinese you are welcome.

Parece una mezcla de CANTONES CON KOREAN
Te acuerdo :)
Hokkien the same to teo chew
So how do you say how old you are?
Do you just add a word like in Mandarin 我二十五岁? If so, how is that last word pronounced?
Yes, you can also add huè after the numbers (it means years old).
@@ceciliachenchinese Thanks a lot!! I'm guessing it's written with the same character :)
May I ask what is the verb to count in Taiwanese
Very similar to Lao language.
What is the big difference of taiwanese language vs mandarin language coz I am so confused thank you..
The biggest difference is the accent and the characters.
In Taiwan we don't pronounce : Zhi, chi, shi, ri, r that much with tongue curling.
In Taiwan we use traditional characters, in main land China they use simplified Chinese 🙂
@@ceciliachenchinese Cantonese also don’t have pronounciation tongue curling and only used traditional characters not like Mandarin in mainland too 😉
@hingzai6689 thanks for sharing ☺️
@@ceciliachenchinese 唔使客氣 ☺️
1,4,5,10 sounds almost the same with Tibetan
You sound more Teochew!
95% of the way you count in Taiwanese is the same as Teochew. I would say it’s safe to say the other 5% lies in slight variation but as a teochew speaker I could catch on pretty quick.
