Ser Erryk is by far one of my favourite non-main characters. He’s just such a loyal knight. Rest In Peace Ser Erryk…you may be gone but you’ll never be forgotten.
I wonder, when he held the crown in his hand, if Daemon finally understood - in his heart - that his brother had died. Such a heavy moment for so many reasons.
True to the books, Daemon places the crown on Rhaenyra's head personally. What's funny about this is that Matt Smith also played young Philip Mountbatten in the first two seasons of The Crown. Philip is shown to be very much opposed to the idea of kneeling before his wife to acknowledge her as his queen.
absolutely. the song itself is called “the crown of jaehaerys” (her grandfather) who crowned viserys. ironically, jaehaerys (much like most of the kingdom) was heavily male-heir driven (as we know, his son viserys was initially too). jaehaerys crowned viserys, instead of rhaenys (the queen that never was). rhaenys swore that rhaenyra would never be crowned as the kingdom would never be okay with a woman as heir (she was right, of course). rhaenyra gets crowned anyway, here, fulfilling a poetic and prophetic irony.
I don't know about proud yet. I think Rhaenys is more or less staying neutral demonstrated by her lack of kneeling like the others during her coronation and Rhaneyra's intro in the war room. Only when Rhaneyra went against Daemon to try to resolve the rebellion peacefully rather than go head strong with dragons that Rhaenys realized her niece is the right one for the throne. This of course was verified when she talked Lord Corlys into backing her instead of them becoming neutral parties in retirement.
The way Daemon looked at the crown, I am sure he was relieved to see it Because of all Targaryan crowns(they have a lot), he'd never allow for that little turd to even lay hands on his brothers crown....Given the fact that as of right now as far as he's concerned they murdered him to usurp his wife
@@Kaboomboo I mean Daemon's blatantly wrong, but I cant entirely fault him for the assumption, it's not like the greens have done anything that'd give him a positive view of them, the usurping definitely not winning him over. He's operating on a heavy bias against the greens

Fast forward a few hours and Rhaenys suddenly arrives on Dragonstone on her dragon and in full armor, tells them that Viserys is dead, that no one informed her of how he died, and that Alicent demanded her support and then crowned Aegon as king - in both direct defiance of Viserys' settled-for-two-decades plan for his succession and in such haste that they avoided informing the "previous" heir of any of this occurring. So yeah... regardless of Daemon being predisposed to despising the Hightowers with every fiber of his being, this would sound like a regicidal coup d'état to anyone.
