How can it go wrong? Home Free harmony, gorgeous Australian landscape, wild horses, 2 outstanding Australian vocalists, a few big birds, kangaroos running free,, and Jen at the helm! I can almost feel the wind in my hair.
This is an Australian anthem. If it comes on everyone will be singing it. The version I know came out in the early 90's by Daryl Braithwaite with Margaret Urlich. I love this HF version with Travis & Amy💕
Beautiful song! I had never heard it before. Nice to be introduced to 2 Australian singers Travis Collins & Amy Sheppard. Home Free does a great collaboration as always. I felt like everyone added something special to this song including Adam's fabulous vocal percussion. And love seeing the beautiful Australian countryside & animals.
@@MichaelMollard I’m just a little upset that they only came out for that festival and not chuck on a quick tour, my first (and only) concert of theirs was March 2020, just before the world went to shit. Now it looks like we’ll have to wait until next year to see them on our shores again.
@@davelister2Previously they were having a short vacation after a fairly gruelling winter (terrible weather, Austin very sick). He and Amberly spent about 2 weeks on the Gold Coast for her birthday.
I love how Home Free let's Travis and Amy shine. I love that you could really hear Rob's beautiful voice often. Truly enjoyed watching your reactions and analysis of Home Free.
Another fun collaboration by Home Free, so glad they added these two Travis and Amy. What beautiful scenery that tied in so well with the lyrics. Home Free never does it half assed, always have every aspect of the presentation melding in unity and ties everything together. Fun project and it is so Home Free!!! ❣
That modulation threw me for a loop, too. Loved your reaction because it reminded me of my first reaction to this. I had to build up to this song collab, to be honest. I'm a home fry, but that's just what my first reaction was. I loved Travis's tambor/timbre, because it reminds me of Michael McDonald. Anyway, you nailed the reaction, so in-depth, as usual. Please consider reacting to another one of Home Free's songs. There are a few rare gems you have missed over the years. "We Just Disagree" is one of the old classics that they covered which has a universal and timeless message. Thank you.
Chance does the rhythm guitar.. He also does it on 'Can't stop the feeling', and it's quite similar in technique to the jaw harp on Man of Constant Sorrow..
Love this song! I don’t think Amy or Travis sing together but their voices are great. Such a good remake. Yes, this was filmed in Australia when HF was touring there. Have a good week!😍
A great job by HF, Travis & Amy.For me this is one of those songs that just keeps running around in head. great job by you and ihave the same hope as you. I would love to hear you sing with HF, i really hope it happens.
I understand that this song is an Australian standard. Amy, Travis & HF sound terrific together and, of course, the singing, harmonies & beatboxing are perfect. The scenery and wildlife are just wonderful. There's a kind of irony in Adam beatboxing in front of a bunch of snare drums (LOL). Thanks for playing this & your comments.
Jen, thanks for your great reaction to this beautiful (new to me) song. Such great layering, harmonies and BGVs. I love Home Free collaborations where they always let the featured artist(s) really shine and this is a wonderful example of their generosity. (Fingers crossed they'll connect with you while in the UK!) Home Free never disappoints!
Great job, this beatboxing brilliance blew me away. I know he has some layover tracks but he was fast and continuous on this song! Impressed with the guest vocals and Tim laying down what sounded like a bass guitar! Glad you are back! Low bass Kenneth!
This is one of the great Aussie songs. As an Aussie (English born) one has to belt out the chorus. They did justice to Darryl Braithwaite's iconic version. We call wild horses Brumbies.
it would be the biggest treat to hear you work with the fellers....WOW....Thanks for doing this tune..it's my new Fav...Amy and Travis both do lots of great work on their own also.
Song is absolutely beautiful another one another hit out of the ballpark for these fellas.. love your reactions as always Jen.. Love my Boys 🏡🆓🏡🍟 Adam Rupp is killing it on the percussion absolutely beautiful.. Chance is doing the guitar sound you'll hear him do it in quite a few other songs as well..
Chance makes the sounds of a electric guitar. So Tim and Chance doing bass guitar and, electric guitar. Don't see those two to much.😢 but this is an amazing collaboration once again.. love it 😊. Great reaction as always
This song feels so uplifting. Travis and Amy work so well in concert with the Home Free fellas. I am not sure where the string sounds are coming from - I know Adam Rupp is doing the percussion parts. I wonder if guys like Rob or Chance are somehow adding some effects. (Remember Adam Chance did the strange mouth harp sound in "Man of Constant Sorrow".) Wonderful reaction as always, Jen. My days are better when I take the time to check your analyses out. :)
Jen, loved watching you enjoy watching Horses. The original is by Rickie Lee Jones, I think in the late ‘80’s. I believe the song is about a father dealing with cancer and talking to his daughter, telling her he will always be watching whatever happens. The guys had fun doing this “Australian anthem” just like “Sweet Caroline” is here in the USA. ❤
Jen, If you've heard the song 'Geronimo' by Shepard you have heard Amy before, as Shepard is her and her siblings band, despite being an Australian myself I don't know Travis Collins. This song is one of the iconic songs that (nearly) every Australian knows, another Iconic song that deserves analysis is John Farnham's 'You're the Voice' ruclips.net/video/6m2m_9Uijso/видео.html I would love it if you could give it a look. I have added "I'm not a fan" to my liked songs on Spotify and play it at least once a week.
I don’t think Amy and Travis have sung together before. I assumed they were just so in sync because they are pros and they are very familiar with the song from Daryl Braithwaite’s and Margaret Urlich’s version.
Yes, please react to John Farnham. He has the most amazing voice. You're the Voice & also a very special cover of The Beatles Help with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra are both amazing.
Jennifer! Starting out with beat boxing! 😂 Oh and love your top! I know how you feel about blue. 😊 You even mentioned Amy's blue hair! Hmm I've not heard this song before either, new to me. Australia! Love the Australian countryside shots! Fun fact ... did you know over 200,000 Aussies live in London? Saw that while researching London for the bike trip. 😁 Loved this entry by Home Free! So Jen, maybe it just takes blue hair to get a collab with Home Free? Something to think about! 😂 Awesome reaction and analysis as always. 😊
Hey Jennifer, i think you should check out *Filter* - *Where Do We Go From Here* They're amazingly Underrated, that's why it's kinda rare to find any reactor's on RUclips, who react to that song 💯
Although it's considered and Australian classic, it was written by Walter Becker and Rickie Lee Jones who originally sang it on an album. It was also part of the sound track of Jerry Maguire.
This is beautiful! They all sound amazing together. I’ve not heard this song before and I love it. I really enjoyed this and your analysis. I definitely think Home Free should get in touch with you and have you record some vocals so when they are there y’all can film the video. ❤️ Should we all send them messages with this request???
@@JenniferGlatzhofer: you like the modulation ( key changes) into fuller sounding harmony that the key change changes the whole dynamic of this song. To me, the modulation in this that why Pentatonix doesn’t have fuller sounding harmony like Home Free have.
Darlin, when you hear that strumming it is Chance making that sound. He also does it more noticeable in "Can't Stop The Feeling." Oh, what do you know, you haven't reacted to that one yet. 😎😄
Hey, @JenniferGlatzhofer? After you've finished a reaction video for a new-to-you song, do you go back and listen again? I find myself listening to this one, repeatedly. Partly, I think, to better understand the story within; but, also to memorize the lyric. I'm not a singer-beyond to myself, but this song speaks to me. ❤

I have a question for you!!! You are forming a new a capella group. You need 5 members. You can only pick from the members of Pentatonix, Home Free, and Voice Play! Who do you pick, and why? :D I truly hope you see this and respond, because I'd LOVE to read your response!!! :)
Since they are only in the UK for three days for 3 shows a day's journey apart, I doubt that they will have time for anything. Don't know why they are in such a rush, missing out places that were a great success last time, no time for PR. The UK is a very expensive place but there are other US artists spending the whole summer here, doing festivals as well as theatre shows.

Travis sounds exactly like a U.S. country singer, but I can’t put a name to it.
