    Question for Scott. The tires and rims don't look like stock Cruzer parts. Can I get what you have (part numbers) on your plane please?

    • @scottmiller4711
      @scottmiller4711 2 года назад +2

      The wheels are the standard (ordered from Matco) split-rim 6" wheels (gold/silver in color but I painted them black) and the tires are 6X600 retreads from Desser tire (I think retreads are a bit heavier than standard 6" tires). I also installed tubes in all three tires. The mains fit on the stock Zenith 5" axles but the nose gear required installing the larger Zenith fork.

      @ExperimentalAircraftChannel  2 года назад

      @@scottmiller4711 Yes Yes. As you can see... this went WAY LONGER that the typical episode (most are 15m-18m in length). This one ended up being 27 MINTUES long and that was after A LOT OF EDITING. :-) I wish we could make 60min long episodes all the time... but only a few have the attention span for that. Thanks for such a great day of Aviation Scott!

    • @Redbirdstol

    50 rpm? Does he mean 500?

    • @ExperimentalAircraftChannel
      @ExperimentalAircraftChannel  2 года назад

      I believe he means literally just "bumping" the throttle a little bit and it's airborne again. With a "gearbox" engine the torque is there a little more instantly etc. Great question. Thanks for watching!

    • @Redbirdstol
      @Redbirdstol 2 года назад

      Its really more like 200 rpm, and yes, I mean 200. The STOL wing really does good at low power, and doesn't take much throttle at all. I'm usually flying before I get to the stops on t/o.

  • @thomasaltruda
    @thomasaltruda 2 года назад +3

    I don’t get it.. I’ve flown two different 701s with the Rotax, and a 750 STOL with a O-200. Not to be so negative, but there are so many better flying planes out there.. these are some of the worst flying planes I’ve flown. They get off the ground fairly quick, but they don’t climb well, they don’t cruise well, they don’t glide well.. sure they have a low stall speed, but they just don’t have good control harmony. The Alarus CH2T is another poor flying plane.. Every time I see someone raving about these Zeniths, I wonder what they have flown to compare it to..

    • @Estebanserrano96

    • @thomasaltruda
      @thomasaltruda 2 года назад +1

      @@Estebanserrano96 well, it depends on your mission… I recommend you fly different ones before you commit to any of them. I love the RV series personally, they are so balanced, they go quick, they can play on the grass, but not ideal for the hardcore backcountry stuff. The Cub type are awesome to fly, sooooo much fun, just slow for traveling anywhere.
