Reality in plat: "Don't fight yet. I'm getting tower." -> immediate 4v5 engage "I'm drawing attention, be prepared to take an objective" -> 2 recall with full hp, 2 go objective and die.
lmao no shit, i get so frustrated when people dont understand how to rotate to take an objective when ive drawn pressure or when they take the 4v5 fight and get aced then we lose inhibitor and somehow its my fault. :/
thats not only plat, Bronze/silver/gold too and probably even higher. as a split pusher you hope your team will draw pressure somewhere else.but when YOU draw pressure and try to keep it as much as you can and burn cooldowns, what does your team do? jerk off and back full life. Thats why splipushing can be unreliable at times. And I hate to say it...
My no.1 problem is that people around High Silver/ Low Gold dont know how to play with splitpusher in team. They are going for crazy 4 vs 5 fights. They obviously lose and whose fault is it? Mine, because i was not there. So the problem isnt lost fight. The problem is blaming of your teamates.
To be honest Im not really good at jungle, I main midlane but jungle is always my 2nd role and what i do if we are loosing is this: camp one lane that i think that can carry for example if i have Riven or Irelia in toplane or maybe yasuo, you understand.. and i just dont care about anything else but to get that one guy ahead and when someone starts flaming me a instantly mute them because chat is often driving me nuts. When my special snowflake is ahead we start going to lanes where teamfights are not happening and push until someone comes and we deal with them and even if we both die, its worth because we get turrets elsewhere.
If they choose an unfavourable fight thats their fault, totally thier fault. Most bad players, the ones who cry, dont know when to take fights. Its those people who blame the top, jungle etc. They don't understand towers and are bad players imo.
Everything is situational. e.g.: If they have malphite and vi and the enemy team is ahead and they flash+ult or tower dive to start a fight it IS your fault that your team died when you go to split push. Teleporting late or not at all into an even team fight is also a great way to lose the game. On the other hand if your team is moving through the enemy jungle in a 4v5 situation and your adc gets caught out by a skill-shot and dies instantly; That's their fault and you can't do much about it.
As a top/jg main myself in the elo you say, I realize that it's not always the team's fault because I've been on both sides of this as a top laner and as a jungler for a fed duelist splitter. Splitting's a risk I take and the risk decreases if your team has good wave-clear. The default response to a split push is a hard engage. There's not much you can do when a Riven flash knocks-stuns your team and their team engages hard. So I understand the flame I get a lot of the times. It's necessary to tell the team exactly what you want and expect. "Don't engage, just waveclear" is just not enough imho. The thing that works for me is this, "Let them push till inhib turret and keep back and try to waveclear from a distance. If they're too agro, and the inhib turret is going down, I TP but hard engage as soon as I channel it." A lot of the times, I have, say an Anivia on the team and the enemy can't do jackshit to engage because the waveclear is too strong. Somtimes I have a Jhin, Kha Zix, and some low wave clear mid laner, and they can't stop a hard engage if they go close. You gotta play accordingly. My OPINIONS are not facts or arguments, I am simply putting forward my own point of view.
A very common error happens when you're split pushing and your team, very confident about the advantage, iniciate 4 vs 5 and 1 or more die. Giving gold, experience, and the chance to take control of the game to the other team. If they aren't your premades you'd expect: "gg no top", "gg fiora", etc, etc.
Yeah you're right on that, really do need to work around your teammates. If your teammates are the type that would engage in a 4v5 even when you express them to back off, you can't split in dire situations because if they ace your team, they can easily send one person back to stop your recall + have the other 4 push in and take objectives. If your entire team is getting aced and you're complaining about your team for engaging, you still need to change your tactic from split pushing to grouping since you know split pushing isn't going to work. This is great advice on split pushing but people really should not blindly follow advice they hear just because you need to work around the situations.
Scrap, I'm a casual gamer who's been playing LOL for 4 seasons and MOBAs for about ten years. Just wanted to say that your videos are categorically the best strategy content for the MOBA genre I have ever watched. I wish I had stumbled upon your channel when it first started. You're an amazing content creator, and I look forward to watching your videos for as long as you make them. Keep doing what you do, my dude. We all need it. Cheers, -IgnotusDiedLast
Great video. I’m new to the game and this taught me so much about macro play. I never knew what to do around mid game to take objectives and provided your team listens this guide has worked great. Thank you so much
thanks bro a lot, i won a game today 1v9 just by split pushing, my team had like 20 killses less than the enemy team, they all was fed, but i split pushed top and bot all to the inhibitors , solo! ... it was fun, more fun than teamfighting... this guide will make me even better. thank u
Hey Scrap! Just wanted to say a quick thank you for helping us all in understanding the game ;) And to say that this video is one of the best you've ever made ^^
idk but with that team, the botlane tower is gone in 15 secs+2freekills for red team. Ez dive 4v2. It wont be worth with tower loose+2 deaths, for 1 tower
Very good guide 10/10 from me. I often play duo with friend, we are mid/jgl/top most of the time,we are on teamspeak, if i am top i like to play trundle and volibear, find them very good at splitpushing,AA based, tanky, have cc ,escapes and tankiness. I ask my friend (jgl / mid) to ward enemy top side jungle, so i can see when to back off, also I agree with communication, you need to tell your team what are you about to do and why,bcs in lower ello team will blame you all the time for not joining them, they dont get pros of doing it,and how should they act while you are splitpushing. And also in lower ello, enemies are more likely to go and "hunt you" with 2 - 3 players,or even more, so make sure to inform your team. This season after 10 rankeds it placed me in B4,now I am in G5. I played mosty volibear, trundle, diana and ziggs at mid, dianas passive is good at killing turrets(especially with nashors tooth),her Q+W is good for wave clear, also ziggs spells are good at wave clear, you can escepe with W,or use it to finish the turret off. Make sure to have vision over the map,and even if you dont, watch lanes,if you see jungler at botlane, feel free to push,if you dont see enemy laners from other lanes as yours, they are probably after you.
Thank you for another great video. You are helping me climb from b5 this season. After ever video I see how I have improved. I am a support lux/sona main and I never thought I could play these characters and climb but this season thanks to you and phylol :D
i habe to thank you for ypur educarional material, the only thing i could gets thats better is tutoring lessons irl from you. Keep up the great work :3
as a Tryndamere OTP I'd say that Trynda is a Immovable Split Pusher the first like 20-30 minutes of the game (depends on how behind / ahead you are) but then turns into a kill/duel split pusher because lategame only very few Champions can outduel him, eg Jax or Fiora, if she is very good imo but the rest of the video was very good and helpful, thanks :)
Thanks for the Guide !!! This Help A Lot I Spent 28:26 Minute for Watching this but that is ok! i got a tons of things i need to learn you just help like 80% of it. Keep making more please :3!
can you try to upper the volume of your voice in the videos? I normally watch other videos in 25% volume but in yours can't hear you well not even at 100%!
yes, he already talks fast and with a difficult accent, add that to the fact that his voice blends a little bit with the video, and It's kind of difficult to understand
Hey ScrapComputer, Was curious with Yorick's rework where you'd put him in the classifications and recommendations for best utilization between his kit and itemization.
3 best split pushers (personally) in order 1. tryndamere. dont question. it just is 2. yorick. demolish + maiden of the mist + zz + herald = win 3. jax. easy 1v1 champ. destroys turrets. pretty straight forward
Tri-Force Hecarim tends to be good at splitpushing, no one can keep up with that speed and the q spam to activate Tri-force on tower makes towers die fast. If fed enough you can also duel people and kill them pretty easily.
Now what i'd like to know is: If you know exactly, that your team can't hold a turret, can't kite back, can't fall back, is generally just PREY for the enemy team, and you know they can't win teamfights 4v5, because obviously it's a 4v5, and you stay with them, but after the fight it's like only two on your team remain, and posibly someone of the enemy team, so you can't really go for objectives, how to deal with that? To me it appears that such a game will surely result in a lose due to the fact that even though you might be winning some fights, you cant get a single objective out of it and are thus doomed to lose slowly and painfully. Now i am by no means a good player, I'm unranked and a Rek'Sai Main (cuz Rek'sai can do it all and is fairly easy), i'd just like to know how to deal with a game that looks like it is lost because you can't start to become ACTIVE but remain reactive.
Bottom lane was losing and cried that i wasn't split pushing and trash talked me even though i was winning my lane. So here i am getting some education on split pushing so i can help the scrubs :).
good video man, how should i tell my team that im going to split? often when i do they tend to get mad or not understand whats going on and insist on making the game harder. idk if they are trying to be defiant bc they dont like being told how to play the game or if they just dont understand the concept.
dbazile15 I would disagree, whenever I play on a smurf in gold, team fighting is the way 2 go. Just because u can take so much if u Axe the other team.
Honestly the main reason that I hate team fighting is because in bronze people just run into fights blindly without half the team being there. Lets say that I was just caught off guard and I die. For some reason my team would then start a team fight and it will be a 4v5 and since I play alot of brusiers that is alot of tanky and damage that they are missing out on by fighting without me. When I see that I just say, "You distract them with your lives, don't die I'll get that inhib that's been open for the past 10 minutes."
I am surprised you did not talk about Yorick, Illaoi, Nasus or other juggernauts like that. They can often win a 2v1 when played right (and ahead) and thus can be very annoying split pushers to deal with.
This Video is pretty helpful . but it depends really really on your team . as Tryndamere main I don't take tp I take ignite instead to win 1v1 early game and to take the top inhib as a trynd my job is top at top lane once i get inhib then my next object is to go bot and get the bot's inhib . I fall doing this many times due to my team that get killed so easily they go against 3v5 and 4v5 . and the enemy team collaps on me pretty easly and 85% if not 90% of my games am the fed one with the highest farm and kills . In conclusion you need to carry your team in low elo by being the best player in the match . a very few players know what is going on in the game even if its not that much but its really helpful
If you wanna take dragon, split top like a minute before it spawns. For Baron, split bot. If you have TP up, you can split then teleport into the teamfight so its not a 4v5. I dont like putting my team in such a compromising position generally
Kris Koniusz evern is on 30% winrate, that shit is 20% below average.. he will get removed from the game if he doesnt climb to at least 40% in the next month
For Split Clear items, some champions (ie Gangplank) do not need them due to their kits. 2 Split Active items I think Ghostblade should be included here as the bonus attack speed is very effective toward turrets (although I think the preseason is removing it so RIP).
Wanted to watch it but then stopped when I ehard that it's gonna be a long one. Checked the length and gave up. Maybe tomorrow I will watch it, but definitely not today. But I will watch it since I want to see and hear new ideas, even if I'm a mid main and jungle when I don't land mid xD.
13:38 why did you make the enemy team one with hard engage, ashe arrow, blitz pull ahri charm darius flash pull and fiddle r over the wall isn't hard engage the type of team it's worse to splitpush with unless you are a disengage team with thresh corki etc. because your team is forced into a fight and your team seems to not be placing any wards for you to tp on so they can force a 4v5 and take an objective send 2 people to kill you/stop your split
It would be amazing if you could write a website or even publish a book with a compilation of all your wisdom....it's hard to put into practice what you teach (as a new-ish player) because it isn't all always relevant in every single game
i main shaco, most times im the most fed one, should i be with my team more rather than split pushing? its lower elo too around gold so they never kite back so im always stuck with staying with my team.
I feel like it's really really REALLY important to note that you CANNOT split push when your team has no map pressure. If they just lost/won a fight and recalled to buy/heal or are dead, you cannot continue to split push into inner turrets. Without map pressure the enemy team can just collapse on you. I know that's fairly obvious information but I see it time and time again in plat/low diamond elo.
Wait, Riven can duel people still? I thought she had been relegated to team fight cleanup since anyone with the slightest bit of armor just needs to sit under turret to shut down her split push..
i am so bad at split pushing i literally pulled out notepad++ and noted almost everything you said i have like 3,243 characters in notepad for that relatively short video
Should i split push even if my team is dead? the enemy team pushes way faster than me. Therefor i lost my last game. Should i always split push or maybe stay with my team?
Yea thats something I try to do alot but usually the plan fails on "tell them not to fight" cuz usually they dont understand my tactic and focus on flaming me for solo playing instead on trying to win.
slycoop1997 Gnar is super strong in team fights , but if u want to split push u can, push and draw ppl 2 u then just jump away over and over again.Or if you are fed u can easily 1v2 as gnar if u have rage up ;)
how to properly do this at low elo if ur team doesn't have the knowledge of proper leads and how to make sure players on ur team get objectives while your split pushing
And another question I noticed that some of of these methods need you to know the second the person comes to collapse on you so wards in the jungle will help with that but how can you do this if there are not much wards in the jungle
Trynd main here, I'd agree you never need to group if you can split push properly but that doesn't mean it's never an option. I group when a carry/ies on my team has created a substantial lead that I can capitalize on. If you have teammates that have a good level/item lead you can build more off-tank and provide slows and extra damage to anything trying to kill them in a teamfight. I only consider grouping I'm sure that someone else on the team is far enough ahead that they are the strongest person on the map, then make it my mission to keep that person alive in fights. I'd say this is more of a play style thing but I just have no problem jumping on someone's back and letting them carry me to an easy W is it's there and the math is in my favor - your damage dealer is able to do more damage in less time, you keep them alive longer, they deal a lot more damage and you win. I'm just playing on the idea that is fairly unlikely that a player is going to stumble into this lead so I can trust they are competent enough to win us the game given the support. End of the day it's about judging the potential in each win condition. Consider an extreme that a Nasus could actually just stack to the point that you get a penta every 5 Q's - sure that's a possible win condition but how does that compare to other win conditions?
allways think about your win condition. If your enemies have a master yi and you have no cc, you must force 5v5 fights early and push as a team to win as fast as possible. If your team outscales the enemy team, just try to split push and stall out the game for as long as you can. There might be other win conditions, such as baron, inhibitor, strong adc or apc. When you figure out how you are going to win, just follow the plan. (dont forget the most important part of split pushing - create pressure, but NEVER DIE, unless you kill 1 strong enemy or 2 average enemies)
guys plz help me how can I splitpush well with twisted fate cuz splitpush is the only option playing him because he loses fights a lot since enemy has dmg ult and TF does not so ?
Hey guys, is Talon viable split pusher? I really hope to hear answer " yes " :/ I feel like he could work well, good waweclear + escape + utility + great dmg ? PLEASe someone tell me if he can do it?
Reality in plat:
"Don't fight yet. I'm getting tower." -> immediate 4v5 engage
"I'm drawing attention, be prepared to take an objective" -> 2 recall with full hp, 2 go objective and die.
lmao no shit, i get so frustrated when people dont understand how to rotate to take an objective when ive drawn pressure or when they take the 4v5 fight and get aced then we lose inhibitor and somehow its my fault. :/
"dont fight! dont fight! when they come top, take said objective!"
5 seconds later..... "Enemy Quadrakill!!!!"
sigh*.....
"But i can buy voidstaff" My viktor with lich bane tells me, as 4 poeple are chasing me for 30 seconds.
thats not only plat, Bronze/silver/gold too and probably even higher. as a split pusher you hope your team will draw pressure somewhere else.but when YOU draw pressure and try to keep it as much as you can and burn cooldowns, what does your team do? jerk off and back full life. Plat 2 reporting in here, team still doesn't understand split pushing. Thanks for the guide!

Ondra Pšenička If u see them fight just tp and don't blame your team 4 team fighting

Let me put it this way. Nice strategy ideas, very common, but difficult to execute if your team doesn't know how to manage themselves.
Matías Fuselli soo true
Yeah you're right on that, really do need to work around your teammates.
If your teammates are the type that would engage in a 4v5 even when you express them to back off, you can't split in dire situations because if they ace your team, they can easily send one person back to stop your recall + have the other 4 push in and take objectives.

12:30
Toplaner never group, report him, always 4v5, doesn't even teleport, gg.
;)
boring
Brandwein we have good reasons not to. Look at the video again and try to understand is.
Dehall Brown thing is some people don't know the concept of split pushing and thus they blame the split pusher for the loss or whatever
I know and I hate it. Plus it makes them look like noobz. Not knowing the gatez.
idk but with that team, the botlane tower is gone in 15 secs+2freekills for red team. Ez dive 4v2. It wont be worth with tower loose+2 deaths, for 1 tower

Super handy. Thanks for posting. Good lunchtime vid before league play.

Unfortunately I'm in university and have moved on from LoL. I'm glad you watched this guide though, I consider it one of the best I've ever made :)
Thanks for the Guide !!! This Help A Lot I Spent 28:26 Minute for Watching this but that is ok! i got a tons of things i need to learn you just help like 80% of it. Keep making more please :3!

im already plat 2 so i already knew most of what u said in that video but....awesome video man :) keep it up!
very well put together, didn't know there was so much to splitpushing. gj
as a singed main this is realy helpful
very helpful Well done guide 10/10
Why thank you :)
really nice video with the animations instead of just theory
u talk about split push items i never buy ludens on malzhar but you suggest i should?
What's the music track that starts around 3:18? I hear it a lot in your vids.
Hello, glad to see you with another helpful video. :)
Great and helpful video as always. The audio was a bit low on this one. I listened with full volume but I still had trouble without headphones.
Really nice video scrap! Always enjoy seeing that new video popping up in my subscribers feed, you need to get more active tho! :PP
Great video! Also I'd love an in depth Taric guide as he's really underrated and unique IMO.
Hey ScrapComputer,

3rd! :) Very exciting scrap, looking forward to checking this out!
Hope you enjoy it magpie! Love you
scrap sucks- CJ
FlamingCharisma yes, most boosted :)
yorick is a god for split pushing, one tower in this video is like an entire lane for him against low elo players its ridiculous

Background soundtrack used? Great explanation btw
this video is perfect for me since I feel like in lower levels split pushing is the best way to win

They can often win a 2v1 when played right (and ahead) and thus can be very annoying split pushers to deal with.
reaaallyyyy nice video dude, exactly what i need
Hey Scrap what are your thoughts on Yorick in relation to this topic?
I am now a toplane main 10/10 guide THE BEST i understand it the other guides is just talking jibber'ish
In conclusion you need to carry your team in low elo by being the best player in the match . a very few players know what is going on in the game even if its not that much but its really helpful
i get ebola when i hear "stop solo noob" "only solo gg noob report" ... xD
Awesome Video and still relevant !!
What kind of split pusher is Jayce?
If you wanna take dragon, split top like a minute before it spawns. For Baron, split bot. If you have TP up, you can split then teleport into the teamfight so its not a 4v5. I dont like putting my team in such a compromising position generally
What if we have an Ivern on our team? Isn't it always going to be a 4v5?
more like a 4v6 when he gives hidding spots for your enemies and runs it down mid because you harrased him
Mr Same Ivern is a decent champion, no idea why ppl hating.
Kris Koniusz evern is on 30% winrate, that shit is 20% below average.. he will get removed from the game if he doesnt climb to at least 40% in the next month
Kris Koniusz
Just a meme guy.
Hinterino Salterino Because no one plays him mid yet :) This shit more broken than syndra ;)
why do you use the old splash arts on your icon thingy
For Split Clear items, some champions (ie Gangplank) do not need them due to their kits.
2 Split Active items I think Ghostblade should be included here as the bonus attack speed is very effective toward turrets (although I think the preseason is removing it so RIP).
How about the 2 fast type?
Wanted to watch it but then stopped when I ehard that it's gonna be a long one. Checked the length and gave up. Maybe tomorrow I will watch it, but definitely not today. But I will watch it since I want to see and hear new ideas, even if I'm a mid main and jungle when I don't land mid xD.
When should I get Rift Herald
13:38 why did you make the enemy team one with hard engage, ashe arrow, blitz pull ahri charm darius flash pull and fiddle r over the wall isn't hard engage the type of team it's worse to splitpush with unless you are a disengage team with thresh corki etc. because your team is forced into a fight and your team seems to not be placing any wards for you to tp on so they can force a 4v5 and take an objective send 2 people to kill you/stop your split
What about yorick ? What group of split pushers is he in ?
Awesome video dude, thanks a lot.
What group would yorick or nasus be? Kill lanes?
Wow, Forgot I subbed to you since its been a while. Great vid
It would be amazing if you could write a website or even publish a book with a compilation of all your wisdom....it's hard to put into practice what you teach (as a new-ish player) because it isn't all always relevant in every single game
Just making sure everyone knows...scrapcomputer is gold
What class is Yorick in?
i have been split pushing without knowing it and really nice guide any tips for fizz? i am really new with fizz xD
i main shaco, most times im the most fed one, should i be with my team more rather than split pushing? its lower elo too around gold so they never kite back so im always stuck with staying with my team.
FINALLY I CAN GO FOR D GATEZ!
Wait, Riven can duel people still? I thought she had been relegated to team fight cleanup since anyone with the slightest bit of armor just needs to sit under turret to shut down her split push..
i am so bad at split pushing i literally pulled out notepad++
and noted almost everything you said i have like 3,243 characters in notepad for that relatively short video
@ScrapComputer could you please make a guide on trading
Should i split push even if my team is dead? the enemy team pushes way faster than me. Therefor i lost my last game. Should i always split push or maybe stay with my team?
thank you so much, very helpful
NP Zoro!
Can you explain when or why to pick Ghost over Barier on mid lane?
Andrej Židek If you think you are able to use ghost/barrier effectively then use it. It also depends on what champ you are playing.
3:50 what did you say?
what elo are you atm? :)
i really liek your vidios, but there are so much i didnt watched them all now :(
i can learn so much from you
BIG THANKS!
Yea thats something I try to do alot but usually the plan fails on "tell them not to fight" cuz usually they dont understand my tactic and focus on flaming me for solo playing instead on trying to win.
I main trynd and Jax a great help mate !
thanks time for work, will try it when i get home :O)
What about turret killers like yi?
Brad Thomas Master Yi is a *"Push Splinter"*
spliter* damn auto correct
SenpaiKiseki *Splitter
YOUR BACK YAY
What strategy should gnar use when splitting?
slycoop1997 Gnar is super strong in team fights , but if u want to split push u can, push and draw ppl 2 u then just jump away over and over again.Or if you are fed u can easily 1v2 as gnar if u have rage up ;)
very in depth. i like it.
Really helpful. Thanks
bro, you are the best! thank you!!!!!
how to properly do this at low elo if ur team doesn't have the knowledge of proper leads and how to make sure players on ur team get objectives while your split pushing
And another question I noticed that some of of these methods need you to know the second the person comes to collapse on you so wards in the jungle will help with that but how can you do this if there are not much wards in the jungle
subbed for not narrowing it down to stupid phrases like others
Tell ur team, smiles and shakes my head
can u do an ekko detailed vid?
But then is the question:
when NOT to splitpush, but group?
:)
alexander reusens you don't group. On to roam to another lane to get a kill. But that's beside split pushing
Consider an extreme that a Nasus could actually just stack to the point that you get a penta every 5 Q's - sure that's a possible win condition but how does that compare to other win conditions?
alexander reusens When your team gets destroyed without u, or when they want to force drag or baron
allways think about your win condition.
What type is kha?
27:01 Bernard's Watch?
YOU DAM RIGHT :)
guys plz help me how can I splitpush well with twisted fate cuz splitpush is the only option playing him because he loses fights a lot since enemy has dmg ult and TF does not so ?
What if my team doesn't listen to me?
Hey guys, is Talon viable split pusher? I really hope to hear answer " yes "
:/
I feel like he could work well, good waweclear + escape + utility + great dmg ?
PLEASe someone tell me if he can do it?
Can Talon split push?
How do you split as tf? I mean his kit is nice for splitpush
