- A First vlog for this beginning of Summer, spending a day with my friend Gaëlle and thrifting with her, ( She found great treasures )working on my new workshop inspired by Alice in Wonderland, baking a typical french summer desert a clafoutis perfect for beginners , sewing and adapting summer dresses bought recently in local shops.

THE RECIPE OF THIS GLUTEN and DAIRY FREE CLAFOUTIS : (The regular clafoutis has milk and normal flour)
1pinch of salt, 50g sugar, 60g cornstarch, 400g pitted cherries or (abricots like mine), 4 eggs, 20cl almond milk
Preheat the oven at 210°C, pit the cherries or abricots, in a bowl mix eggs+milk+sugar+salt, then add the corn starch, beat, and mix everythingwell till the consistency is even, put the fruits in a dish then the dough and put in the oven for about 40,45min.

I giggled at your explanation of a long French meal experience in comparison to your English speaking friends because as a Canadian it is true, we do eat our meals rather fast and abruptly, I am sorry to say. Next year, I am going on a holiday to Paris, so I will remember to sit and enjoy my meals there instead of rushing through the experience ❤
Oh yes ! remember to take your time in Paris though certain restaurants and cafés especially in Paris sometimes prefer you to go fast! The meals "rules" can be a bit different in public places than in private homes, but anyway yes remember to slow down, it's better for the digestion ;)
Oh I loved this upload so much. It had everything I love in it. 🙂 I really like your friend Gaille. I subscribed to her channel and watched all of the videos. I hope she will start filming again. You two are such a nice pair. What a wonderful friendship you have. I loved all the things you found at the antique market. I love all kinds of vintage things, no matter what epoche, lol. What a lovely teapot and soup bowls. So lovely. I wish I could make this dish you showed, but I cannot eat any animal products due to an autoimmune condition. But it looks really tasty. Back in 2018, when I had 20 pounds less on my ribbs, I used to shop for clothes at the children`s section too. Lol. Not too often, but you are right, sometimes one can find great stuff there. The blue dress you bought is devine Can`t wait to see you in it.
I also loved, how you tied that lace ribbon around your waistline. What a great idea. I have to keep that in mind. 🙂

What a fun day with your friend! The teapot you found is so very pretty!! Years ago my friend used to live/work in Europe so when she would come back home to Canada for a visit we would sit for hours at the table and eat and talk. I miss those days.

You can recreate that with other friends, the ingredients for such a friendly meal are easy: a home or a garden +good ingredients and tasty dishes + interesting conversation+ time +1 or several good friends , and that's all ! And it's less expensive and more enjoyable than going to the restaurant .

Really lovely video and you look like a fairy- princess sipping your tea in your pretty dress, with small butterflies flying around you. I found a rustic heavy metal bird with a gold crown on his head in Germany, in an old stable next to a cafe. I thought of you when I bought it. You would have liked it as well. It makes me happy whenever I look at it here. Thanks for brighten and inspire so many lives with your videos. 💕

Hello, lovely floweres on balcony. Growing very nicely. Love your teapot find, and of course, hands down= books!!! Love your clothes too. How nice to be able to shop the size of youth clothes. I think in the states we use corn statch in place of corn flour. Thanks again Laetitia and Choclette.

I have a teapot that is more a New England colonial style, with a spatter ware finish, but I’ve been looking for something a little more formal in a floral pattern. The weather in my area has been a bit erratic, from 90 degrees F with high humidity to a chilly, dank 60 degrees. Hard to know what to wear! Anyway, I have really enjoyed your videos and I am looking forward to your newsletter-I recently signed up.

Lol, we have the same superstition in Germany. But you know, I always thought it was silly. Just like Friday the 13th. It is my lucky day. From now on, opening an umbrella will shower us all with luck and happiness. 🙂
Fortunately Gaëlle likes to live a dangerous life, and she is the less superstitious person I know so I think she will be fine ; )
Here too actually but if we had to follow all the superstitions even the most crazy ones from past centuries or the medieval era we couldn't live our lifes and we would still kill owls and black cats for ridiculous superstitious reasons....

I love the idea of making the clafoutis with almond milk and corn flour, I'm going to give it a try! In Canada we make desserts with pumpkin so today I'm going to celebrate 'October in July' (my daughter and I love the Fall) and make a pumpkin crumble, it's a family favourite
Yes let me know if you have tried, I'm doing some versions of this clafoutis twice a week these days , I just love it! "October in July" I never heard of that , I wonder why people in north America don't like summer and always wait for Autumn and Christmas. For us Europeans and French even more it's very strange, as here people live and crave for their long summer vacations and for summer activities, long summer evenings all year long. It's the opposite. I would have to try a sweet pumpkin crumble, I have done some salty pumpkin ones, but not sweet ones. Thank you! I found a lot of fun things in the old book shop and in brocante these past weeks will share more later , that's wonderful !! I'm glad for you, you found such a wonderful shop they are so rare! @@Merveillesenpapier I think I love autumn more than summer because autumn is spectacular in southern Ontario. Day time temperatures are still warm with the evenings a bit cooler for being cozy (outdoor bonfires are so fun). The trees turn stunning red, burgundy and yellow and the sun is lower on the horizon so the shadows are longer and the light is golden!
Your accent is adorable. I keep trying to do it myself. At some point in my life I want to learn French. My accent is awful though because I keep doing my families accent being Puerto Rican. I will keep trying though.
Oh un clafoutis...ça fais vraiment longtemps que j'en ai pas mangé. Tu me donnes envie. Je ne sais pas si ça serait bon avec des bleuets ( je suis au québec lol). C'est comme des myrtilles.
Je pense que ça doit être très bon avec vos myrtilles québecoises, si elles sont trop acides peut-être qu'il faut rajouter un peu de sucre ou alors faire moitié myrtilles moitié cerises. ;)
