Love EVERY Mesa amp I've heard! That special tone is in every one of them! Those who say certain amps don't sound good just haven't spent enough time dialing a sound in! It's not a plug and play deal, it takes work!
I love watching Doug dial in sounds on these amps. He's obviously super passionate. And the amps are incredible. I'd play any Mesa (except for a rectifier) any day over any other amp.
Jacob Whitus I don’t like the clean sound and the distortion is that fizzy top kind of sound. It’s just not my cup of tea. I own a mark V head and 2x12 vertical recto cab and that amp is perfection, even if it does so much more than I need it to.
The best amp tone channel I’ve ever seen yet. The first couple minutes sounded like the new brown tone. Then he got five more brown tone sounds out of it. If they made that amp with just channel 3 in it for half the money I would buy it today. But I guess I’ll have to save up a little longer.
I love how every guitar and guitar amp video on the planet, the player and the interviewer/inventor look at each other with the "I'm constipated grunt" look, one is nodding his head and the other is shaking his head. Then when the player stops, he looks at the amp like he's waiting for a response form the amp.
I got my TC-50 when they first launched and I love it. I said that even if it were just the first channel, it would still be the best amp i've ever owned. I love the EL34s but i might try it with 6L6s to see how it is.
The amp sounds quite loud and great. That chunky punch in the muted notes is in my experience only achieved at louder volumes. How loud was this in the room? Considerably louder than speaking level I assume.
Currently an owner of a Marshall DSL and using Andy's signature drive pedal, for juicy leads....but would love to switch to Mesa Boggie amps...just for the clarity and for the sweetness in tone...to get even smoother tones...
I got my mark 5 35 after watching Andy’s demo of the 25 for a month straight. Unfortunately sold the amp due to non stop problems with the tubes red plating and back and forth trips to techs. Really bums me out because I loved it and toured with it for over a year
Hi Ben - So sorry to hear you had multiple problems with the Mark Five: 35. Did you ever speak to anyone at Mesa directly about it? Multiple problems with amps is certainly not the norm for us and we have lots of ways of making things work when problems arise. If you'd like to discuss further, please let us know and in general, we're sorry for the troubles and hope to be able to earn your trust back when the time is right. Thanks!
@@TheDogPa actually out of all the "cookie cutter" amp companies Mesa builds a really solid and quality product... Compare this to a Marshall JVM or a Blackstar Series One 104 or another large production company in comparable price range and get back to me. You cant really compare a boutique small production like Soldano to Mesa, of course Soldanos are built like a tank and use beefier components, and you're also paying twice the price.
@@RRoy83 You can see however, that Mesa stole from Soldano. I have a Mesa power amp. But I'd not buy a 'recto', I'd get a real Soldano. I'd not buy a Marshall for any reason ever. Bogner/3rd Power...something that works.
@@TheDogPa. I've owned two Dual Rectifiers for almost ten years now, and have not had a single problem. Even the tubes last a long time. Look under the hood and it's all flying leads, thick double sided pc board and some of the cleanest most logically laid out wiring paths, that I've seen in an amp. Especially considering all the features. Then there's the quality cabinet construction. Personally, I don't even care for Soldano's limited features and dry tone. So you know... each to their own, bud. Mesa's are definitely not junk.
Hi Reza - YES! ALL Mesa amps are fixed bias. Using Mesa tubes, it's just plug and play. If you are using 6L6s, there is a switch on the back of the amp to flip to when using 6L6s, but EL-34s and 6V6 use the same bias switch position. Hope this helps and thanks for your interest!
Ya I have a tube screamer on it as well as a ten band eq what I was getting at was for the price of the amp they should of put on it just like they did the mark five 90 I have to . With out it sucks just putting it out there for anyone looking to buy it and get it home and be like what the hell
@@jeffhudson2346 A lot of that compression is from the editing. Very different in person. I used to own a tsl 100 as well, and I would personally choose the TC every time
@@Jordan.levesque The only mesa I've ever tried that I could sit down and in a couple of minutes have a sound I like was the Road King I. I can sit down with any Marshall and very shortly get a sound I can like or really love. For me the way Mesa produces the mids is where they fall way short.
His pitch when he bends is out of this world!!
It really doesn’t matter what Andy is playing, he’s got the tone!
I don't known how much is Mesa paying Timmons, but he deserves every penny. That's just the best way of selling gear. Keep up.
Sounds incredible!! I really love my MarkV:25!!

Why not a rectifier? Too bassy? That's what i hear is the big problem with them.

Man this Andy cat has some flavor in his playing....i wish he would come to Cali so i can see him.
Hard to believe Andy doesn't use THIS amp... What's not to like? Endless palette of tones
Best amp I’ve ever owned
Is the 100W more versatile than TC50? I need bedroom headroom.

Same here... I play it daily and use it for gigs... Endless tones and dead reliable
I got a Mark V combo and been thinking of getting this amp to have the EL34 sound

Kord Martin Been wanting to try those tubes also!
half of me wants to go buy the amp, the other half wants to sell all my guitars
Uau!!!!!😱😱 This is amazing amp! Mesa Boogie is fantastic!!!!
Andy is ridiculously great. He could pull that same tone out of a cardboard box with nylon strings.

Considering master and channel volumes, did you use any attenuator? The volume should have been quite high...
Hard to believe Andy doesn’t have a sig amp.

Open one of these up and look at it. Total garbage. Watch some vids on repairing anything 'mesa'. Just get a Soldano and say no to this 'thing'.

Sean Tierson Free Ride. Can’t remember who did it originally, but there have been a few covers of it.
Free ride by The Edgar Winter Group.
Doug West sure like to talk about his amps :D
thats a monster f'n amp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Which effect, a part delay, did Andy use?

I can't decide on this or a Mark V:35
Anon oymous This is awsome man
@@Allann882 I went with a TC-50 head. Amazing amp. Glad I took it over the Mark as much as I liked it.
Time to trade in my 5:50+ for a TC 50!!!!!

That high gain channel seems quite noisy to me. That humming drives me crazy. Thats the ONLY thing i dont like about it.
I was thinking the same thing, but a noise gate in the effects loop may stop that, depending on where the loop is in the circuit.
@@AnAmericanGuitarist yep. Thats what i do now to my 6505+.but its not that bad👍👍🤟

Bring a true Metal player to demo this!
Andy Timmons is a very unique style of tones player and that's what this demo consist of.
You mean instead of the guy with the greatest tone on earth? No thanks.
Watch your profanity!
Yeah. Bring Kirk Hammett so we can have a look at the amp's flaws.
No thank you Mesa, I'll stick with my Marshall TSL 100
Too bad those break more than a Ford
Every ear is different. I traded my TSL 100 towards a Mesa Mark Five, couldn't be happier with it.
