Al Snow is the only wrestler I've seen have a match against himself alone in the ring and made it entertaining.
😂🤣True!!
Kota Ibushi also
Dolf Ziggler fought a broom once.
Minor correction It wasn’t against himself, it was against head if I remember correctly🤣
There was an Irish guy in the IWW years back who wrestled his boot. Probably about the same time as Al but it was epic!!!
Al Snow is the epitome of "it takes a genius to play an idiot!" His on screen personna was so wacked out and insane, that he made it work!
al snow aged well
For real!
He must munch so much box.
Him and DDP could easily tag team some house wives.
He probably just stayed in shape unlike most retired people
More jacked now than ever.
He is like a Jedi master of Pro Wrestling.
don't forget catch submission trainer for dan severn in ufc
It is refreshing to hear Al own his past mistakes. Usually everyone blames someone else.
What does everybody want!!!
@@spinningbackkick6021 ACCOUNTABILITY!!
What does everybody NEED!?!
@@angelmunoz34 RESPONSIBILITY!!
Seems a top genuine guy. Puts his hand up to his mistakes and speaks with a passion and respect for the business. Fair play mate.
I respect Al Snow. He's right some wrestlers worry about their W-L record like its competitive sport. The one's I most remember had solid gimmicks.
The more I hear this man speak, the more he needs to be a bigger part of wrestling
Well he does developmental work, which is really important. Backstage stuff.
@@MattHelmSA I think they stopped being developmental around 2007 or so. They went to Florida Championship Wrestling and now have NXT as their developmental brand
One of my favorite matches is Al Snow vs. Head. That pile driver was devastating. Head couldn't even stand up after that.
Lol i remember that
Hahaha I remember....!!😂👍
Al looks Damn good! Very underrated WWE superstar..... Smh
If he looked like this in 2004-2005, he would still be with the company as a multiple time World Champion imo. This look he has now in his 50's looks like hes in the best shape of his life, and a damn good worker still.
Amazing. He must've really taken good care of himself and not fallen for any of the party and drugs lifestyle many superstars are known for. Look at people like Scott Hall and Lex Luger who got huge pushes and look at how they look today. Fortunately both of them are alive but their physical appearance reflects all the abuse they put themselves though in and out of the ring.
Al should be used as a model of how a wrestler should act in and out of the ring to have a better chance at a good life afterwards. Another worker that impressed me with his attitude was Barry Horowitz. He did not like the term jobber but he was grateful that despite not getting a push to be a superstar he has a home and other things to show for his work vs other wrestlers who got the big contracts and whose lives were a wreck by the time they retired.
He has one of the most underrated intro songs ever. "What does everybody want?!" Lol him & Billy Gunn had some dope intro themes that people slept on.
Nathaniel Clark I remember his Heel theme around 2000 was DOPE! 🔥🔥🔥
@@liquidgeorge im suprised on why he didnt keep it
The Prodigy - Breathe was a better fit in my opinion.
Al gives the BEST interviews. Mr. Hannibal: thank you for doing this.
"People brought weapons for them to hit each other with and there was a mannequin in there. And that's where I got Head". - Hey, it's a living.
Yes! I brought a soda can to a set of matches in freehold NJ. Raven split it open and used it on Bubba rays head.
lol he got head in a trash can
I could listen to Al Snow all day. He is intelligent and speak very well. his Head gimmick was good comedic relief and went over well.
Say what you say about the gimmick, it was SUPER OVER
Laces out!!
The engines runnin' but there's noone behind the wheel
I think it was so popular because it was just like the ultimate warrior nothing but chaos and running around
WHAT DOES EVERYBODY WANT?
HEAD!!!!!!!!
What does everbody need?
HEAD!!!!!!!!!!
I was such a mark for him as a kid that I had a Styrofoam head from a girl my Mom worked with. I'd run around shaking it making it headbang like he did and of course would ask what does everybody want / need but I didn't know the original 'head' was also Styrofoam as well until this video.
Haha awesome. I feel like we had weirder shit to run around and say/duplicate as kids (suck it, what does everybody want?! HEAD! and ohhh you didnt lnow?) but it is better than running around saying you can't see me or believe that.
+PixelProtocol as a kid watching WWF i remember i would walk around my house saying EVERYONE ABOARD THE HOOOOOOOOOOO TRAIN ! LOL i didnt even know what it meant at the time.
Julian Francos I would use that one too haha. In Elementary School around the 4th grade I got in trouble wearing an Austin 3:16 shirt. They had this little Bible class you had to do so they spent the entire hour talking about why my shirt was bad why that saying was offensive and blah blah. All I could think about was how much cooler Austin was than them lmao. I wanna say it was one of the last times they made me attend it too.
It's the reason ,I have maniquens to this day.
When I was a freshman in highschool I brought a bottle of 'head and shoulders' shampoo with me to school, the wrestling fans got the joke.
The more I listen to his interviews the more respect I have for him. Even though he could talk about how some wrestlers do a bunch of politicking to get pushed or almost always secure a win, he takes responsibility for his choices and the effect it had on his career. More wrestlers should look up to him as a mentor about how to to handle and navigate the industry.
I've never heard Al in interviews before. Guy seems pretty straight up, no BS, very real. Always thought he was a weirdo based on his character. Funny how my young self would believe the stuff I saw. Goes to show how well some of these guys sold it.
I've been binge watching all the Tough Enough's just to watch Al Snow. He's so knowledgeable and his passion for wrestling is very infectious!!
I remember his gimmick with Steve Blackman- he was pretty funny man.
Crafty Vegetarian83 headcheese
hell yea
Ohhh yeah, when they were tag team partners or something? Then they had a feud..? It’s been a long time...😁
It took me SO many years to "get" the CRAZINESS of the "head cheese"!! Lmao goodness, the things they could get away with saying/doing on TV back then!!
Every time I see a mannequin or styrofoam head, all I think of is Al Snow and the conversations he had with it.
Al was always super underated, he did get a lot of TV time but wwe never gave him that big push, shame...
AL SNOW HEAD GIMMICK WAS GREAT !!!!
Based on what is being said here,Al sounds like he'd be a decent mentor/go to guy for advice on how to survive in wrestling...for most of the time and things?
if you watch his reaction on cody leaving you will see that he is a great mentor
he owns a wrestling school :P
Criminally underrated worker. Always liked him.
This gimmick literally just clicked lol I randomly sing this song every now & then & now it makes so much more sense. A well rounded gimmick highly slept on…
He needs a podcast ASAP.... Great speaker
I can listen to Al talk about wrestling all day. Amazing mind for the business.
I always heard that Al Snow always held Shawn Micheals responsible for his not getting over, for holding him back, but this is the first time I've seen that Al Snow admits it was his own fault. I mean, Shawn tried with him but Snow blasted back. That's on Snow. Man. He blew his own shot. Imagine what could have happened.
Loved that he had the head gimmick. It got him over and rejuvenated his career. Good times.
The fans gave Head to New Jack, then Spike Dudley and Mikey Whipwreck got Head and then they gave Head to Al. What a nice story that isn't at all a double meaning!
For a guy who could potentially have CTE, he has an absolutely incredible memory and speaks very well. Love Al Snow.
Great mind for the business. I'd love a conversation between Al Snow, Raven and Paul Heyman.
And Head. 😆
Al is definitely one of the most intelligent guys on this channel - love listening to him talk. He knows his shit
Dope interview.
Skinny in this bitch nigga🤗
Yea he was dope..
His goatee is really getting his chin over
What?
His goat is making Roman look strong!
The introspective ability he has is something a lot of us can learn from
I met al snow last year top guy and lots of time for his fans , nothing but respect 👍🏻
This guy is a rare example of a guy that is better the his character. I would love to know this guy in real life. Good Man
Al Snow not being world champion and not beating Shane Douglas at wrestlepolliza was the nail in the coffin for ECW.
Never seen a proper interview with Mr. Snow and man...he seems super self-aware and intelligent. Fascinating stuff.
Al was always great fun to watch in the ring! I miss the attitude era. J O B 4 LIFE! #jobsquad
He actually got the idea from a King of the Hill episode which aired just before the Head's ECW debut, where Bobby Hill developed a crush on his cousin Luanne's beauty school mannequin head
Lol I remember that 😂😂 bobby was heartbroken when Hank ruined the head
@@shotbyinspektr7368 Because he couldn't practice kissing for Joseph's party. However, there was an awkward relief Connie gave encourage and when the bottle in spin the bottle landed on Joseph's unfaithful mother.
I had the recalled figure with head accessory, before they got recalled. My brother worked in toys at Walmart and snagged me one as they were pulling them off shelves. Had the Al snow bear with the head bear head too. LMAO it was hilarious
Why was it recalled?
@@SpookySammy
Because the toy company didn't think that a play set with a severed female head was very kid friendly. Honestly, they were kind of right, lol.
5:19 For the actual "Head" story.
I just met Al Snow and he is a tremendous guy
"Vince wants everyone to get over"
*Looks at Zack Ryder *
Sure Al, sure
PolarBrain Woo Woo Woo, you fucking know it.
Wonder how damien Sandow feels about that
The problem with ZR is the fact that he got over on his own outside of WWE programming. He got over on the internet, so that's why they buried him so badly. If you're not a 100% WWE creation, you'll have a hard time there.
Look at Fin Balor now... smh
PolarBrain a performers worth isn’t tied up in how many wins and losses they have. If you only care about a guy if he wins, you’re looking at it wrong
Al Snow should definitely go back in the ring as a heel! And give him World title run!
I have a lot of respect for Al Snow. He and his Head gimmick were over and entertaining. Holding the Hardcore Championship a few times, the Tag Team Championship briefly with Mick Foley, and the European Championship were good highlights. Even a brief feud with main eventer The Rock. So not exactly a terrible career and resume at WWE. He just never seemed to get past the midcards. I would have liked to have seen him in a lengthy feud with Mick Foley. Maybe even have a brief reign as Intercontinental Champion. He could have been a great addition to ECW when they brought it back.
Mad respect for you, Mr. Snow. You were one of my favorites of the Attitude Era.
Al Snow was always on TV, loved every segment. Much more interesting than Daniel Brian.
What?
HE SAID HE'S MORE INTERESTING THAN DANIEL BRIAN!!!
Although, it's actually Bryan.
SolidShark OFFICIAL Love the head.
SolidShark OFFICIAL o
“Bruce Prichard rolled my contract over. He would not let me quit.” I could visualize Bruce going all Brother Love on Al saying, “because I Looooooove Youuuuuu!”
"Nobody can do anything to stop you from getting over" - Al Snow
No Al. Someone can. His name is Hunter.
SurreyDaPrejident Right before that he said “there will be guys around Vince who will prevent you from getting over”
@@BostonsF1nest Actually he said "Don't believe all the crap you hear about ' there will be guys around vince...'"
I think what snow's trying to say is if you're good enough no one can stop you getting over just look at Daniel Bryan or CM Punk both got incredibly over dispite certain people backstage not wanting them to.
I don't believe Al Snow when he says Vince wants everyone to get over. One great example, the whole debacle of the WCW Invasion.
the red rooster ;) what about him hahahah
what if Sting came to the WWE in 03-04? could he honestly believe that Vince would have no secret petty WCW war agenda against him?
If Sting was able to sell tickets Vince wouldn't have had any problem with him. WCW really had nothing going for them towards the end. DDP? You are aware DDP was 45 when he came in to the WWE? Buff Bagwell? Dude blew out his calf implants a few years prior. And need we forget that the WWE put Sabu over? Built Rhyno up to ungodly standards? And then after the entire invasion angle Booker T, RVD and Bill Goldberg became champs. Scott Steiner was thrown in to world title matches and main eventing PPV's with in weeks of him showing up.
Everybody with a brain knows that Vince would have sabotaged Sting at least a little. We all know that Sting would have been a WWE star if Vince wanted to make him one. Oh BTW, Vince should have never even done the Invasion angle. He should have treated Sting like Bret Hart and Goldberg near Taker's treatment.
Damien Sandow got himself over, then Vince released him.
Imagine this guy being a backstage producer on a wrestling company. This guy could do a lot
He has been and still is one
I wrestled Al Snow at SuperMegaWrestleFightPalloozaFest 09, lovely guy.
Just for the name of the event do I want your comment to be true lol
+bob SNUBbert Was that a question?!
+Danimal No just a passing comment.. Have you met Doug Wiliams?
Danimal Lololol '09??? How many fucking SuperMegaWrestleFightPalloozaFests were there that they were given year distinctions instead of numbers?!
I remember the crowd yelling we want head and not knowing what that meant at the time .
i was scared of Al snow as a kid. still am.
Man when he came out and acted like he was from different european countries every week was soo hilarious.
This is good stuff. Self responsibility leads to self improvement. Good for you Al Snow.
Brooklyn Brawler is in the top tier of successful wrestlers of all time since he was on TV a lot.
"What does everybody want?"
I really like these al snow videos he seems like a real cool guy
Holy fuck, look at his guns. At this shoot interview he was in the better shape than he was while he was under WWE contract.... and it was ten years after the released him.
Back in 1998, when Al Snow came back to WWF after the ECW run, he was so incredibly over... really he was about as over as possible. He was getting crowd responses second only to Stone Cold himself at that time. There was a time where he legit could have been world champ in WWF/ECW. Or at least in the top mix more. My guess is that the stars just never aligned for him. Too many great stars at once during that time period.
This man had me saying WE WANT HEAD ! as a 4 year old lol
I'm not sure Vince wants everybody to get over. It is cool to hear him talk about taking advantage of every opportunity you have no matter what you think about it at the time. Good luck to you Al and it's good to see you look as though you are in great shape. Peace
Crossroads Chris I think Is was used more as a hyperbolic blanket statement the way that someone might say “Everyone watches Game of Thrones”; of course they don’t. But I think it is fair and logical to say that, in general, Vince benefits from everyone being over and therefore would GENERALLY want everyone to be over.
Grabbing the imaginary brass ring.
Al Snow always keeps it 100 doesn't make excuses and doesn't cry about others for how things turned out for him which isn't bad at all man had a successful career or has not sure he's entirely retired from in ring work yet lol
At least he was honest about his own mistakes but damn he looks jacked he still look he can still can wrestle. I remember a school copy his gimmick what everyone wants what everybody needs what everyone love lol..he looks good he had it all but by his own admission it was his own fault.
Imagine being the fan that brought "Head" as a weapon for Newjack and it ends up being that big on TV and everything.. wow thats great
He got such a Pop with the “What does everybody want?!?” music. Everyone in the crowd had those foam heads.
Al Snow is awesome! The man tells it like it is!
Come on Al, nobody can stop you from getting over?? Tell that to Zack Ryder!
HEAD is not a gimmick, it's a way of life.
3:01 Calling on that one. I have a list of names. Ziggler, Ryder, Sandow, Bryan, Punk, Tazz, MVP and the list goes on and on. They all could get over and weren't given the shot except Punk and Bryan because Vince's hand was forced.
Al Snow with the head with my favorite wrestler probably of all time
I love everything he says and it’s great to listen to. Only thing I disagree w it h is: he wants everyone to get over, yet look at the burial of Zack Ryder after the internet chanpionship shtick
HEAD!
He sure did know want everybody wants
One of the greatest intros in history
So much knowledge
This was really interesting, thanks for uploading.
Head for the WWE HoF. And Al as well.
The greatest tag team in history!
I think Al Snow remade himself in ECW
Al Snow vs The Minis is my favorite match of all time
Dam remember my Al snow head toy and old wrestling toys and ring from the 1990's
RIP Chris Candido
Why isn’t this man working at the Performance Center? Absurd
“Looks like we all got a lil head tonighttt”
He looks amazing
I remember that interview it was great
There was a WWF game on the N64(Attitude?). Where Head was a playable character. Invisible body with hands and feet.
Paul Heyman was already seeing an incomplete picture of "The Tribal Chief" when he told Al that he's gonna be the next great big babyface that the people are going to love calling a heel.
nothin like a title match against a head..he sold being bonkers really well
The getting over statement changed over the years
i met al snow and he was a treasure
One of the smartest people who have ever stepped into a wrestling ring
Wow he got “head” from a fan that wanted it to be used as a weapon prop. Awesome
I enjoyed the Al and Mick tag team as a kid
