I went years ago on a cold damp day. Then Yoko showed up! With lots of security. It was a very special time. She put down flowers and then threw a kiss to everyone. Then walked away. I have many special photos i took! John! We miss you!
Yoko! If your reading this. We also miss not seeing you. I was the person who called out your name that cold day. Then you threw us a kiss. I have a great photo of that. Peace & Good Will for You!
@@dougpotosky4102 the crowd gets smaller every year as his fans are dying off
@@dougpotosky4102 Yoko's feedback is amazing
Love her
and respect her as John's widow
@@ovelonse no, she was horrible to Julian...smh
@@Former_Pastor Did you notice that Yoko preached in 1971 that all the murderers in Attica State should be released as "political prisoners" but changed her tune when HER husband was murdered. She (rightfully) testified that Chapman should be denied parole, but had the opposite attitude before the tragedy.
Was working in law enforcement at Boston City Hospital graveyard shift when someone had their small TV on to watch Monday night Football, Howard Cosell came on with the news.....was devastated, as a boomer who got really into music cause of the Beatles, it was one of the hardest and emotional; shifts I had to finish..getting home around 8am in I literally cried for hours listening to all my Beatles records till the late afternoon.....just terrible.
That "All my lovin" ending was so special with the couple dancing and with the old man singing to his wife in wheelchair
Wish I was there, smoking a joint and enjoying Beatles and Lennon music...greetings from Moscow!
Watching this made me emotional.Lifted my spirits and saddened me all at once. Lovely tribute to Lennon, and amazing how Beatles music still brings people together.
On top of my to-do-list stays the visit at Strawberry Fields - for Birthday Celebration in October oder at Memorial Day. Thanks für letting us participate. One day we will meet there.
I wish that horrible day never came like it never happened and John did not die he would go on with his life up the irons maiden manic John's memory lives on☮️❤️🎸🤘🤘🎵🎶🎶🎶🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️love you john
Thank you for posting. Rest in peace John Lennon.
You're very welcome, glad you liked the video ✌️
I am crying. Tears are silent images of pain
Such a terrible night, i cried & cried & cried!
John Lennon after all these years he have millions of fans all over the world ❤️👍
In the Sixties, my aunt and uncle lived at 41 W 72nd St., just a few buildings down from the Dakota. Whenever I visited them, I was always fascinated by the Dakota, and its gargoyles on the railings scared me when i was 10 and 11. Well, long story short, as a very big Beatles and Lennon fan, on that horrible night in December 1980, I was able to visualize the whole scene...the gate to the entrance, the golden guard house. It made it so real...maybe too real. A major life-altering tragedy in my life and the lives of millions. I loved John Lennon...still do.
Thanks for sharing your experience. It's always a weird feeling walking past the Dakota - especially because you can get so close to the actual crime scene.
We’ll never forget you John. ❤️ RIP.
It's been 42 years since John was killed. He was my favorite Beatle. Still miss him after all these years. I wonder if he was alive what would he be doing? Probably still making music and going online. Miss you John. You are in my thoughts and prayers. RIP John, Cynthia, George.
This could bei exactly my Text.
Thanks! 🎤🎸☮️
Thank you for filmming the Dakota from close and for your good quality filmming you made me feel like i'm there although i had never been there but one day i will.
Glad you enjoyed it! I hope that you can see this in person one day, it's always such a great event with the nicest community!
Dream is Over
Thank you John!!! RIP
IT WAS THE BEST WHILE WE DREAMED
Both Lennon and McCartney came up with the loveliest melodies!
Rest in peace John....
You are the Best..You are history

I can still recognize some of the musicians from the gatherings in 2004 through 2008.
We only started attending last year but met a lot of folks we spoke to last year at this year's gathering!
Give peace a chance 👣❤️👍
Such a tragic day
Everybody remembers exactly where they were and what they were doing when they got the news. I was 13 at the time, roller skating without roller skates, so I painfully twisted my ankle, in my early adolescence. Later on I came to appreciate John's personality and philosophy.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
I think I had just gotten home from roller skating that night
Dion’s song “Abraham, Martin & John” took on a whole new meaning that night…..
Thank you for posting this video, I live to far away to attend in person but it gives me joy seeing people still remembering John but sadness at the same time that he is only a memory 😥✌💖
Hi Sharon, you are most welcome, glad you like the video. We are planning on attending again next year! ☮️
The day an abject nobody became as famous as an iconic somebody 🎸☎️🎸
RIP John Lennon....!
Love and peace!
I met Gregory Wakabiashi when I was going to Dalton in the 60's. He lived in the Dakota.
The place was gigantic.
Huge rooms and all.
We moved to Jersey in '69.
Always a big Beatles fan.
I remember playing foosball when n the announcement came over the radio.
Still unbelievable.
I went with my mom to strawberry fields memorial for John and bought photos of strawberry fields and central Park.
We both cried.
Still have in my study frame and matted.
Hi Dan, thanks for sharing your experience. Super interesting and it's nice to hear you still treasure the photos from Strawberry Fields 💐
I remember going that day, it was incredible. Thank you for recording the ones I couldn’t!
Of course! Glad we were able to capture some of the parts that you couldn't! 🎸
Thank you for putting this wonderful tribute to John Lennon, it's very emotional and it's so good see nice people and even young children talking to each other and singing along to those beautiful song that The Beatles wrote together ❤
Thanks for your kind comment, Philip. We are going there every year and it's always very touching to see how John Lennon / Beatles still unite people of all backgrounds ☮️
@@InLoveWithNewYorkCity Your very welcome, hopefully I will get to visit New York, and visit Central Park and sit at Strawberry Fields Memorial for John,Happy advanced Christmas 🎄 ✌

The Imagine memorial used to be covered in flowers on this date, now there is barely any there 💐
Hi there! We went to Strawberry Fields rather early and visitors just started gathering - maybe that's why it looks a little empty in this video. Surely there were more flowers in the afternoon!
@@InLoveWithNewYorkCity no, he's right. The gathering gets smaller as decades pass and Yoko is moving out
@@SUGAR_XYLER that is just sad
That bastard! Mark David Chapman
Lots more flowers were there later in the evening.
I remember where i was when i heard the news on the radio in my car

Free the killer! So fans can give him Justice!
Beatles fans don't strike me as being particularly bloodthirsty. I say keep him in prison.
@@spindriftdrinker It’s not about blood lust. It’s about Justice.
I was 7 years old when John Lennon was killed, have no idea what I was doing when he died

oh god, I feel like you can really hear me on In My Life. i hate my voice
oh god, on It Won't Be Long too
Hi Maxwell, don't worry nobody's going to judge, it's all about people coming together ✌ It was such an inspiring event.
O'Conner: Maybe it was that psychoanalysing type of thinking
that got John shot by that lunatic!! John was a poet.
Anna Penrod🎄 Happy Christmas!
72nd st...7+2=9...John had all the 9's.
Lennon wrote Imagine then a christmas song... sad. War is over if you want it... Celebrating religious and political holidays makes sure it continues... just saying. All we need is Love.
I never want to see the Dakota. Creepy old Gothic building where Rose Mary’s Baby was filmed. How’s that for bad mojo? A film about the birth of the Devil? No thanks! Don’t need evil in my life.
Lennon died there too, after getting shot in the back 5 times. He basically bled to death.
I’d visit the Memorial in the Park and that’s it. It would be too painful otherwise.
Thanks for showing this anyway. The Memorial looks nice.

Lennon ain’t the man you think he is try looking deeper into his life rather than being starry eyed Beatles fans..not a nice man ☘️
A multifaceted person, with initially worthy of criticism behavior towards women, which for a certain time could still be explained by his youth and the environment, in which he grew up. Drug user. In the course of the 70s he became a kind of role model of the house husband. Also quite a jealous character BUT: his genius, his turn towards a more positive behavior far outweighs the negative traits.
This kind of comment is so bad. Did you meet him to say this? How do you know he wasn’t a nice man? And what about you, Mr Perfect?
