- I forced myself to Platinum Dark Souls 2! This was no easy task getting the platinum trophy. With all the difficult bosses like Fume Knight and Sir Alonne along with time consuming covenant farming. I was shocked what this game had to offer. Overall I think Dark Souls 2 is a game everyone should try at least once. Even if you don't care about getting the platinum!

Unironically I did the exact same thing, I really do not like ds2 but it was the only from soft game that I hadn't platinumed except demon souls cause ps5, still did it tho
I got the shitty trophy a month ago
I got my plat a few weeks ago, definitely a painful experience, especially farming the sunlight medals offline
Naw the worst farm was farming the mad warrior for the sorcery’s achievement
i hated having to get all the pyromancies and miracles cause i wasnt about to invade/help 500 people each so i had to get to ng+3 instead
For me farming sunlight medals was just chill farm using crystal soul spear. If you use bonfire ascetics instead of covenant to reset spawns you never get lowered drop chances.
Dark souls 3 is worse. The covenant farms in that game are atrocious.

The worst farming I had to do so far in my quest to platinum the games is in DS3 when you have to get items for all the covenants. Seemed like it took forever.
Overall I did really enjoy this plat and I'm preparing mentally for DS3 haha

Not sure why, but I always found it easier to find more covenant items in DS3 by swapping one of my armor pieces with another after getting a covenant item.
It seems to reset an invisible timer is my best guess. Doing this allowed me to farm the covenant items several hours faster in my experience.
@@MacAttackPlaysword of advice; put aside your pride and fear and just participate in pvp early. It’ll make farming covenant far easier and save you a lot of trouble. Ds2 had pve methods that were doable, ds3’s on the other hand are merely painful.
@@MacAttackPlays DS2 was worst because for me as I had DS3 online items from PvP but I have original DS2 where PvP almost doesn't exist

33 hours to get platinum?! My very first playthrough took 72 hours and I didn't even get close to completing trophies ._.

I got the plat in 39 hours and people were so shocked and didn’t believe me so seeing him doing it in 33 makes me feel better

@@michaeldagnonbro Pursuer is so easy. Has like 2-3 attack patterns. Each pattern like 2-3 swings that are easily dodged even at 3 ADP. The only tricky attack is when he launches Dark orbs. But that's easily avoided by running behind him. He tries to track you but just keep trying to get behind him and you will

For a while I had Bloodborne, Demon's Souls and Elden Ring's platinums but some time around Summer last year in one of my 827382th playthroughs of DSI I got motivated to get the plat and then there was no turning back, I platinumed DSII, DSIII and Sekiro back to back after that and it was PAINFUL.
And yes I farmed everything offline and I can guarantee that DSII's offline farming doesn't even come close to DSIII's... I have literal nightmares every time I see Anor Londo.

I have platinum in every single Souls game. Demons-Elden Ring and honestly DS2 wasn’t too too bad to platinum. The game itself is frustrating nature but I had the worst time with DS3. I’m a PvE mainly player so I had to farm the covenant items and omg some of the worst grinding I’ve ever done. Congrats on getting the platinum on this 😊

Ds2 isn’t frustrating at all. It’s the only game in the series that wholly rewards skill and thinking. The other games are just mindless and sometimes even just button spammers like ds3
@@zzodysseuszz I remember struggling with dark souls 2 when I was younger, fresh from dark souls. Replayed it recently, and the only frustrating thing is the hit boxes are sometimes wild. But looking back on it, I think it was just so different from the original that I would have, at that time argued about how frustrating it was, how bad it was, how it just didn't deserve a spot in the glorious franchise dark souls. But my opinion has changed since then. Now I like to phrase it, "Dark Souls 2 is a game that is not a sequel, but rather its own game. The fact that it has been restricted to being a part of the Souls series is a crime. It is a good game. I just wish that its lore made more sense."
@@zzodysseuszz Lmao nice joke. There's NOTHING skillful about DS2 at all. Not a single individual enemy or boss is tough to fight on their own. The game's main idea of a challenge is having you fight 10 or more enemies at once in a small confined space area knowing their attacks can easily clip through each other, or randomly killing you off with cheap gimmicky traps that no one will see coming on a first playthrough.
It doesn't have a well thought out area like Sen's Fortress, Anor Londo or well thought out bosses like O&S, Knight Artorias, Pontiff, Twin Princes, Gael, Ludwig, Orphan, Lady Maria.
It's not a challenging Souls game. It's more like a frustrating and tedious Souls-like that only pretends to be. Sorry, but claiming DS2 to be the most skill rewarding Souls game is quite literally the most laughable thing anyone can say about it in all honesty lol.

Those DS2 invaders who acided your armor were funny.
btw for sunlight medal farming, i reccomend to do it in the shaded woods (way more chill to farm there). take the bonfire to ng+7, so you get the highest drop rate, and make sure you have the highest fortune on your character. i did it this way and managed to farm 30 of them in almost 2 hours

Also - Fume Knight pain is real. I still get nervous on that fight. It's brutal. That it only took you 33 hours is actually kind of astounding. DS2, if you play all of the xoacs, is insanely long. Not ER long, but as far as Souls games go, it's by far the longest. I'm guessing this was the original version of DS 2 and not the Scholar of Sins version? Though I may be wrong. Either way, great job! Love DS2. It always gets shit on but it's a lot of fun.

@@MacAttackPlays Hmmm weird that you had SotFS and did not meet Alva at the end after Nashandra, you skipped through Ivory knight (best boss in DS2 imo) and missed Sinh (best dragon fight of all FS)

I almost went Hollow when I found out that I have to defeat Sir Alone jus to get that last fire stick thing in order to get all the Pyromancies. That boss run was disgusting lol
I took the easy way out and just farmed the npcs until they wouldnt spawn anymore 🤣
The way you killed the horse riding boss, like whaaat 😂 didnt even know you could do that... little hint, there is a lever that drops the gate and causes the horse to smash it and is being stopped so you can meele fight it 😂
I've honestly never understood all the hate for this game, it's fun as hell and the dlc is great. I earned the platinum trophy twice, on the original and on scholar of the first sin, and I'm currently playing through on the Xbox series x working on getting all the achievements lol.

Let just sink in this guy went into NG +2 while still rocking equipment/weapons from NG, when all enemies in NG+ now have mini boss HP pools, that alone deserves plus.

i like how you can pick your own route, the amount of bosses and the way you can get op at the very beginning

My favorite of the trilogy. I also got the plat for this first. I got the medals through coop so it was actually pretty fun helping a bunch of new players. I know it would had been more fast just farming them but it would had also been mind numbing boring.
I loved Majula and the music there. Not my favorite souls game but I enjoyed it for what it was

for the chariot you can close the gate so it crashes and you fight the horse
it took me 44 hours to get the platinum. apart from a couple of hours farming sunlight medals, i enjoyed that so much.
Absolutely loved this game. I was even a bit sad after getting platinum. I think ds2 platinum was the most enjoyable out of the 3 imo

I'm working on getting the platinum in DS2 right now. All I have left to get are the all miracles and all pyromancies trophies and I'll have it. The only obstacle I have to overcome still is Sir Alonne. After him, it'll just be a bit of grinding and I'll be good. Should be able to do it. I really like the game. It's not that hard once you figure the combat out. Especially since enemies will stop spawning after a few kills.
This kinda inspired me to get back to the grind

For anyone fighting fume knight you can kill those giants that spawn in between the bonfire and door and they are perma death so the run up will be easy. You don’t have to kill the one that spawns far back because you can outrun him :)

Dark Souls 2 platinum was fun. Dark Souls 3 platinum was horrible.
But Bloodborne platinum is still the most fun game to get platinum in (hence, I have four platinum trophies for BB).

I'm lucky. My 1st souls game was DS2. So it is my favorite. I, of course, LOVE all the other souls games.
While I'm not fond of DS2, I do have to give it credit in that it took way less farming to 100% than DS1 and DS3. DS1 rare weapon farming took a long time and DS3 made it significantly more time consuming with farming up those covenant items

I miss only the spells for online PVP, which can be bought in NG++. I didn't even have to farm sunlight medals since i had a friend join me in co-op. It wasnt as hard as It seemed, and it was Still Fun Journey. Third souls-game platinum, here i go!
I didn't stop at platinum, I grinded legitimately to max level and got to ng+3 and my character has at least 1 fully upgraded version of every weapon, piece of armor, or spell

Started my journey with dark souls 1 last year and 2 months ago I finished dark souls 2
I've only played the 2 but I enjoyed ds2 the most i didn't know it was hated and I can't see why
Maybe i'm biased because this was my first souls game, but i just love it so much, i enjoyed it thoroughly.

dark souls was a lot harder for me, i surprisingly breezed through 2. i've been tracking my deaths and ds: remastered was 213, ds2 was 102.

You’ll never forget it once your done with all the soulsbourne you’ll take a sigh in relief and never went to go back to them except for 2 honestly I still think about returning But it’s just to much for me Getting the platinums was an accomplishment I was extremely proud of to say the least that we beat one of the hardest games in the world.

Plat took me about 3 times as long, but I agree, great game. Came ip with a method to skip 3M farm to get last spells because i didn’t want to farm.
This is a very random assortment of clips. I couldn’t track anything that was going on as it was so out of order.
I hate the pursuer, but i never did him dirty by using the ballistas

I'm working towards the ds2 platinum as we speak. I've finished my first playthrough and am just checking to make sure I haven't missed anything before I begin NG+. I just discovered that the dlc is required. Not happy!!
