  • Today I start building a historically accurate Sword of Gryffindor from the Harry Potter series. I start with research and design, as well as laying out cad files to be cut. I even end up with a sword blade!

    To be fair, you can use egg sized garnets, if you don't use chicken eggs as the typical egg comparison. There's plenty of small egged birds out in the world. 😊😂

    adding the lion to the design of the handle is good but it needs the Unicorn the eagle with the Thunderbolts and The Wizard

    First off: fantastic designs and awesome direction for the idea! However, concerning the “egg sized rubies”, if you wanted to incorporate them into a Viking style blade, the idea to make an odd iron cage on either top of the guards would not only put them into the sword at size but also have them functioning as quillons for the sword. Just an odd idea lol

      Follow-up: maybe incorporating a third half-egg as the pommel?

    I showed your video to matt stagmer's discord server and he said "if they are going to use historically accurate then they need to tuck that fuller under the cross."

      Ah thats amazing, and yes! It will be covered by the guard 😁

      @@BucketheadStudios great! you know if I were to make a tv adaptation of the harry potter series I might pay you for your version of the sword, are you planning to put more knotwork on the pommel?

      @@sonicfreak04 That's awesome :D there will be a few copies of this one made. Unsure on how much (if any) etching I'm going to do on the handle pieces, I hope to, but it's whether I can get the right set up

    Do we have an update on this? Can't wait to see the finished product!
    Ps- I hope you're promptly ignoring the hoard of voices saying "this needs to be this" and "it'd be more accurate if" etc. Stick to your guns, man.

    To be fair, in the books it changes by the wielder, and it also goes from a one handed to two handed sword in the movies.

    your sword is a lot similar to Anglo-Saxon swords by Kings and I didn't see a sword with a silver handle or the others are gold in fact Anglo-Saxons did add garnet to all their swords

    What do you need to learn to create armor like body armor,cosplay armor ?

    • @BucketheadStudios
      @BucketheadStudios  2 года назад

      Depends what type of armour you're going for, and what you want to make it out of, cardboard, plastic, foam, metal? Each has different skills and tools needed. What would you like to make?
