    0:40 - (Skip Intro)
3/31/17 - Two throttling GP38-2's pull a very-mixed freight from Enola to Allentown on a rainy evening.
    0:40 - 33A - Enola, PA - Allentown, PA
    NS GP38-2 5617
    NS GP38-2 5351
4/1/17 - An armor yellow consist leads auto/stack train 290, crossing over 2-to-1 at PRESCOTT just before sunset.
    1:50 - 290 - Birmingham, AL - Croxton, NJ
    UP SD70ACe 8696
    UP ES44AC 8164
4/2/17 - On a sunny morning, the Wabash Heritage unit leads a late-running 294 across Railroad Street.
    3:20 - 294 - Chicago, IL - Bethlehem, PA
    NS SD70ACe 1070 (Wabash)
    NS SD60I 6760
4/6/17 - A chop-nose Admiral cab GP38-2 chugs west with a sizable local out of Reading Yard, including an MW flat car. 3001 is an ex-Reading GP40-2, spending most of its life on home rails.
    4:50 - H31 - Reading, PA - Local
    NS GP38-2 5070
    NS GP40-2 3001
4/16/17 - Greenery is finally starting to show in the rock cut east of Milepost 77, as a trio of EMD motors hauls hot morning TOFC to North Jersey.
    5:45 - 20E - Chicago, IL - Croxton, NJ
    NS SD70M 2594
    NS SD70M-2 2652
    NS SD70M-2 2671
4/29/17 - Widecab SD60 variants, including a rebuilt SD60 and ex-BN SD60M "tri-clops" (nick-named for its 3 front cab windows), ease 19G into the Lebanon City limits at Avon, respecting a 40 MPH rule. The feed mill here is very active, and sometimes a nice display of multi-modal action can be seen here.
    6:55 - 19G - Oak Island, NJ - Bellevue, OH
    NS SD60E 6962
    NS SD60M 6810
Later that afternoon, the haze starts to clear a bit, allowing some sun to shine on mid-day intermodal train 21M at Milepost 90 with a mix of different locomotives breaking it's usually streak of solid black GE's.
    8:35 - 21M - Croxton, NJ - Chicago, IL
    NS SD70 2561
    CN ES44DC 2335
    NS ES44AC 8062
    NS SD70ACe 1016
Heading a few miles west to the Milepost 96, an ex-UP SD90MAC rebuild leads eastbound auto loads 18N past the Reading Company train station.
    10:20 - 18N - Fostoria, OH - Doremus, NJ
    NS SD70ACU 7326
    NS D9-44CW 9529
    NS SD70 2565
That evening, the skies clear for a late-running 211 with a trio of Union Pacific locomotives splitting the fields near Milepost 78.
    12:00 - 211 - Croxton, NJ - Atlanta, GA (Saturday Edition)
    UP AC4400CW 6040
    UP ES44AC 5396
    UP SD70M 4352
4/30/17 - Sometime this spring, 35Q was moved to an early morning call time. Previously, the train was nocturnal along the Harrisburg Line, but this change allowed for a morning run (not ideal on sunny days), but on this cloudy morning, Tuscan Red leads on competitor rails!
    13:25 - 35Q - Allentown, PA - Linwood, NC
    NS ES44AC 8102 (Pennsylvania Railroad)
    NS D9-44CW 9199
6/4/17 - Fast forward into June, the Virginian Heritage Unit leads westbound manifest train 19G through the large 4-way crossing in the Richland town square.
    14:45 - 19G - Oak Island, NJ - Bellevue, OH
    NS SD70ACe 1069 (Virginian)
    NS D9-44CW 9673
6/17/17 - An eastbound high and wide walks its load through the rock cut at Richland, while 211 hustles westward with a Leslie RS5T horn on the lead unit. A railgrinder just made its way across Main 1 this week, which is why the wheels on 211 sound exceptionally loud on the freshly ground rails. The load on 053 is supposedly a generator for Bayway in North Jersey.
    16:15 - 053 - High and Wide - Electrical Generator for Bayway
    NS SD70 2529
    16:30 - 211 - Croxton, NJ - Atlanta, GA (Saturday Edition)
    NS D9-44CW 9921
    NS D9-44CW 9777
    NS D9-44CW 9025
6/19/17 - A large H31 storms west with a variety of 4-axle General Purpose locomotives, including a high hood behind the 3038, which is notorious among railfans for its exceptional cab-mounted Leslie S3L horn. The style of running with a locomotive on the rear is called "Push-Pull" because the train will change directions en route. Notice, these cars, too, hum louder on the fresh rail grinds.
    18:25 - H31 - Reading, PA - Local
    NS GP40-2 3038
    NS GP38-2 5171
    NS GP38-2 5288

Hit or miss...this year has been the same. Some days are cloudless, and the next it's snowing or pouring rain. It was flurrying today as a matter of fact, we are having quite a strange spring this year. Thanks again.

Great video! I am hoping to go railfan the Harrisburg line in Robesonia. What is the best time to be there? what is the Milepost and Is there a Defect detector in the area I can tune to to hear approaching trains?

      @CentralPennRailProductions  5 лет назад +1

Milepost 71. You can probably hear the 63.5 detector to the east and the one at 79.9 to the west. The sun angle doesn't offer much at this time of year but will be well lit for eastbounds between 9 am and 1 pm...by the time the sun gets good for westbounds it's almost set over the mountain, shadows are a problem here later in the day.
