I wish you guys had been watching the Superman Animated series at the same time to see this version of Livewire and Supergirl. The World’s Finest crossover where Batman and Superman first meet.
Exactly, I have no idea why everyone voted on this season before Superman when the intended way to watch it is Superman for a little bit before this season, otherwise you get this situation where you get spoiled on Superman stuff. Really should have had someone manage and look into that for them.
@@toonman5099 I don’t think anyone voted specifically to do this season before Superman, they were just continuing through the series without stopping not knowing that there were crossovers like this.
@@PrinceIMC I'm pretty sure they bring up watching Superman near/after the end of Season 2. May not have been on a "poll" video but it absolutely was brought up.
@@toonman5099 They didn't put up poll for WB Batman. I am pretty sure they just thought this was another season of B: TAS rather than a sequel series, so they just continued watching it. That is not too surprising though, since the sequel series was more rolled into Batman the Animated Series as another season.
@@Jjop017 I mean the talk WAS had, I didn't imagine it. Granted yeah I wouldn't be surprised by it, they didnt exactly let the episodes be able to be set in like "air date" or production order on HBO Max. Honestly part of me is wondering if they're waiting until fans have figured out a definitive timeline for this or something. Although recently it feels more like they're just using the Timmverse DCAU as a springboard for anything they wanna call "DCAU." Like honestly, I wouldn't stop people from thinking that the "Batman & Harley Quinn" movie was a prequel to the Harley Quinn show, even though it's technically a Timmverse DCAU film. Plus the clashing art style era weirdness with the recent clip of how the DCAU is depicted in the upcoming Crisis on Infinite Earths Part 3.
Growing up with the DCAU was awesome. Watching Static Shock and Batman Beyond down the road after both Animated series and the Justice League just made it all feel so big.
Aww... i remember this episode. I remember smiling the whole time because of it a crossover between the two female superhero that basiclly the sidekick of the main hero...
I love how they use Superman & supergirl’s powers in this universe of shows cause while they are strong they do still make it a challenge and the story is interesting with them as characters it’s not about their power half the time
I doubt the crew is going to watch Superman: TAS but they ought to. If they don't then they should check out the Superman episodes where Batman crosses over. Out of the few episodes that do that, my favorite is Knighttime where Batman is missing and Superman impersonates him. It is a fun episode. As someone who watched these series live, it was always a joy when they crossed over like this. Especially since when it aired Batman and Superman come on back-to-back. There was even a cool Batman/Superman intro that mixed the two opening themes.
They've expressed interest in continuing the DCAU. I think Superman will be on the replacement poll for this show and I hope it wins. It's one of the best shows in this universe
@@kylebaird7387 yeah but it'll most likely lose to some super recent anime like Kaiju no 8 or something. BTAS only managed to win because it's the most well known DC show of all time and its biggest competition was an anime nobody wanted them to watch dubbed.
@@denickart Yeah, I saw the other choices in the poll posted yesterday. Though I did vote for Superman as my number 1 choice, it does seem like an anime will be the winner.
By the way, this Poison Ivy that's introduced here is not the real Poison Ivy, but a clone of the real Ivy made when she escaped after that episode in Batman TAS where she got married and had those plant children, and the last scene was her on a plane to go into hiding. There's a comic that confirms this, and this is cannon
I like how the kryptonians in the animated series are powered down. They can’t just show up and win immediately. It makes things more interesting. If a Superman game is ever made (which it should be) they should have them be about this strong.
common misconception. Kryptonians aren't like super weak to magic just vulnerable, it works on them the same as any other person. And even that is only in certain comics, cuz in others magic does nothing
Guys as far as I remember Live Wire started on Superman the animated series so this crossover would be after SAS was going on. Great reaction as usual guys :)
They do nerf the Kryptonians to keep the challenges available. You should really consider watching all of the DCAU series. The 4 most important are Batman TAS, Superman TAS, Justice League, & Justice League Unlimited.
Ivy's powers are biological, she can control plantae, but she became part of The Green, the universal life force, just like Swamp Thing, so it's science with a little bit of magic, kinda like The Flash and the Speed Force.
Harley and Ivy 2, now with Livewire. A crossover with STAS but it's not like it needed to spend much time explaining who Supergirl and Livewire are. World's Finest is a more in-depth crossover.
Warned you there was going to be a major crossover. There's more than one on Superman series. And, actually, the Superman deries was released during the 2 years break the Batman series took.
whilst Ivy's powers were caused by a lab experiment/ accident in most modern versions it gave her a connection to the Green, a magical force that connects all plant life that Swamp Thing is the avatar of. This means her powers are technically magic.
tech harley does have powers to a degree shes been enhanced by ivy although it was supposed to be just poison immunity she got enhanced strength n stamina just not super strength
3:12 - 3:15 Yes, BUT NOT THIS SEASON. Seriously, I don't get why everyone voted on this season before Superman. Superman came out AFTER Season 2 (because the TV rights changed up and they couldn't do Batman again for a while), then this season came out DURING Superman later on in ITS run. This episode is why you should have started watching Superman before this season. You have been spoiled on their existence. XD For Ivy's powers, she's technically a Chlorokinetic (mind powers over plants). Granted, it most of the time is her creating plants, but there IS a movie that kinda delves more into it. Can't remember WHEN it happens in relation to this season.
@@pegusus12346 I'm pretty sure they discussed it. It may not have been a "poll" video but the talk absolutely was had around when they were finishing up their watchthrough of season 2. You do realise that in order for them to have met Livewire and Supergirl before they would have had to “intersperse” two whole seasons of STAS with TNBA right?

In the comics in the seventies

In most comics kryptonians are vulnerable to magic. It’s an outlier when they aren’t
I feel like even that isnt true because if it was shouldn't Superman just die when getting blasted by Black Adam's lightning or something?
But the average person is weak to magic so if it affects them the same way that would mean they're weak to it too.
Livewire was created for Superman TAS, and this is her 2nd ever appearance in anything.

And then pretty sure Batgirl and Supergirl never interact again in the DCAU. Shows anyway

The New Batman Adventures and Superman TAS aired around the same time, and this episode is after the World's Finest crossover.
Yep. The change in art style for Batman was partially done to match the aesthetic of Superman: TAS.
Would've been good if they watched Superman alongside Batman.

Station 19 and greys anatomy do what the arrowverse did occasionally, and to an extent, and they air on TV. That’s only 2 shows though, and not 5.
