      “Greatest” at what exactly? In ring, microphone, overall etc. If we’re going overall perhaps it’s Bobby the Brain Hennan. Shawn isn’t the best talker but some folks say he’s the best in ring performer. Bobby is considered the best Manager and color commentator by some. 2:1

      @@charlesmarcus7864 I've never seen somebody claim Bobby the Brain is the greatest of all time - but I don't disagree. I'm here to have a civil discussion, as a HUGE HUGE HUGE fan of Bobby Heenan. I literally have been watching Prime Time Wrestling uploads on the daily for the last few months just ... realizing that this guy is one of the best on screen personalities of all time, across all television shows.
      So, why do you say that the weasel is #1 overall? I'm very interested and excited to hear about it :-) I am being sincere, no trolling. I love Bobby the Brain Heenan.

    On the one hand, Shawn Michaels wasn't the first guy to use that finishing move. On the other, he popularized it, became associated with it, and always protected it. If he kicked you, you didn't get up. Back then they had protected moves and you almost never saw someone kick out of your finisher. It would have completely ruined the illusion if people found out for sure that a movie wasn't as devastating as it looked. I'm not going to pretend I ever liked HBK or that he's the greatest wrestler of all time (he isn't, because great wrestlers draw money), but he could go in the ring for sure and he should sue the pants off the Bucks for exposing his finisher to be completely ineffective. If you're going to pay homage to another wrestler by using their move, do it right. If you're using the Sharpshooter, SCM, the Tombstone, Scorpion Death Lock or the Figure 4, you'd better have a great reason for why that doesn't immediately end the match or you just buried a legend. Sue them, Shawn!

    I met Shawn Michaels once in 1997 in Indianapolis. They just got done doing the in your house pay-per-view, The one where the Undertaker got buried and all you seen was his hand come up out of the grave. After the show I was one of the kids outside waiting on all the wrestlers to come out and ask them for autographs and being a fan. I had a Shawn Michael Scrapbook going all the way back to the mid-eighties at the time I was in my mid teens. Finally Shawn came out with this little bag on wheels or whatever, And I was nervous and I was like "excuse me sir sir I'm your biggest fan can I have your autograph?" He told me to "get the f*** lost kid I aint signing no autographs" That shattered me as a teenage kid I threw my Scrapbook away in a dumpster at market square arena on my way out.
    I'm glad he appears to be in a better place physically and mentally now. But I have a strong distaste for this man I don't even watch him on TV when his matches were on. I would change a paper view at the main event if he was in it. I have 0 respect for that man, I have not seen him as an adult yet and I seriously doubt he remembers that 1 incident. Yet that impression of him to me I've carried with me my whole life. I wish him nothing but the best but when it comes to anything he has to say I could care less..

    I wouldn't say it p*sses me off, but it does make my eyes roll that the Superkick, a move that was INSTA-DEATH to get hit by, has essentially been regulated to the level of the DDT because of guys like the Young Bucks, Dolph Ziggler, and just about everyone else in the WWE & AEW roster, making it less effective of a finisher and more like just another striking move. When HBK used the move there was Psychology/Logic to it; I don't see that with talent today, not to mention the fact they draw attention to their thigh slapping.

    • @wanerbdjs
      @wanerbdjs 3 месяца назад +2

      Well in wrestling logic the sweet chin music is not a superkick. At least that's how I rationalize it. You're not wrong though

      Wrestling logic and psychology says that Shawn Michaels was the master of the super kick. Which is why he’s the only one able to finish with it.
      Guys like Young Bucks and Usos did it as fans, but aren’t masters which is why they need other finishing moves. Same with DDT with Jake and cutter with Randy Orton. Which is why it upsets me more that HHH let Seth use the pedigree. Pedigree was super protected, and yet someone else was able to finish with it

    If you loolk at all the wrestling moves, a lot had been finishers that at a point got used by other wrestlers as just another move in their reportoire. Because pro wrestling started as a carnival attraction and with 2 guys dragging each other from one side of the ring to the other with maybe some brawling. But moves like even a body slam? Nope! All cam later! And in some cases they didn't even ask the wrestler that in invented it, if they can use it. Take the DDT as an example.
