I hope that you and your family had a nice time in Belgrade. Though , there are a less expensive hotels (modern ones) in Belgrade and for less money , you could rent an apartment with its own Jacuzzi not very far from where you were staying (lots of different options). Besides Pink taxi , in Belgrade there are companies like CarGo and Yandex (similar to Uber , but with nice drivers) , which are somewhat cheaper than regular taxi. Yes , there is a long lasting problem with airport taxi drivers (not all of them) , but there is , also , a way to avoid scams - there is a place on the airport where you can buy voucher for taxi (you tell them the address and they calculate a normal price for the ride). There are a free tour guides (one has to book in advance) , but that includes a lot of walking around - not very suitable for families with small children. Public transport is OK (besides the rush hour , especially on a longer distances )and pretty cheap. Belgrade is night life capital of Europe (or , at least , people compare it with Berlin).
