- In 1972 McDonnell Douglas F-4J Phantom II BuNo 155510 was delivered to VF-102 "Diamondbacks" where it was the CAG's aircraft and assigned to the aircraft carrier USS Independence. Late in 1976 1555510 was assigned to VF-103 "Jolly Rogers" until it was struck off charge and sent to the bone yard in 1983. In 1984 the aircraft was transferred to the RAF as F-4J(UK) ZE358 of the 74 Squadron. In August 1986 the aircraft was lost when it crashed into a hillside during low-level training. Unfortunately, the crew did not survive.
Seen here is that very aircraft in 1:72nd scale diecast by Hobby Master. It's a very nice model of a 70's era aircraft used by the US Navy with a ton of great detail.
Thank you as usual for checking out our video, we appreciate it immensely. I hope you found it helpful in some way and if so please throw us a like or even subscribe if you wish to be kept up to date with our latest releases @heavymetaldiecast
Use of any images or video in any of my reviews is used out of pure respect in regard to units and/or actual people. I wish to acknowledge all those that have served past and present with their respective nations armed forces with some making the ultimate sacrifice. Political ideals aside, it takes great courage and selflessness to answer your countries call.
Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
Cheers

Esse F-4 Phantom é Espetácular😍 incrível!!! Com Essa pintura da Marinha é sensacional🌟
That's right, another spectacular Phantom 😀. Can't go wrong with these 😉👍
The Navy switched to the F-4 in '71 because that was the year I was born 😜 man that Phantom looks good! Didn't know HM made one for the Diamond Backs, wooie! Love it
Glad I got it right and said 1971 then, otherwise you would've let me know about it ,haha. With around 160 Phantoms released by Hobby Master so far they probably will have most American units covered 🤣. I consider the HM phantoms like Pokemon's....gotta catch them all 🤣
@@heavymetaldiecast looks like you're off to a good start. Have a great night & day brotherman, cheers! 🍻🎃
Pretty good diecast model. At first I thought this was a plastic model channel.
Haha sorry to disappoint you. Hope you will check out some videos here though. I cover mainly diecast military stuff with some cars and figures that I collect thrown in along the way also. Cheers 😀👍
Good morning buddy, how are you today? It's a great model the F4 Phantom. It is the plane that got me started. It looks remarkably detailed but then again most Hobby Master models are. Have a great day and keep pushing on buddy 💪💪😊😊
Hey mate, well I'm still alive so I guess that's a positive, haha. Had some issues earlier in the week but I'm on top of that now 😀. Got to keep moving forward and keep my head in the game 🤣 Takes me around 4 or 5 hours to make a 6 to 10 minute video 🤣. Yeah these F-4's are absolutely killer models. Hobby Master do a great job, but they have released around 160 Phantoms so they should be good at them, haha. Thanks as always for dropping past and saying G'day 😀👍
Would love to see a review on the legion 1/72 il2 keep up the great work always look forward for your reviews 👍🏻
Ah thanks mate, appreciate the kind words. I have bought one of those from Aliexpress so I will get to it sooner or later, haha. I might rummage through my to do pile and see if I can fast track it 😉. Thanks as always for watching 😀👍
That F-4 is loaded for bear. Had to be a "pucker factor experience" mixing it up with the migs. It's crazy the initial F-4 didn't have guns just missiles. Then they tried external gun pod but at slow speed it wouldn't function properly. But eventually they got it right. Salute from a soldier.
I think carrier landings would need some serious piloting skill and really respect naval aviators. Yeah I think the idea was that missiles were the way of the future, which they sort of were but you still need what I call the planes side arm. A lesson learned very quickly. I'm pretty sure those gun pods would not have helped with drag factor too, especially against those agile MiGs. Thanks for checking out another of my videos 😊👍
@@heavymetaldiecast Do you have any F-86 Sabre die-cast?
@@Michael-o1l8c I have done a review on 1 Corgi one this is the link ruclips.net/video/HXtVrPCLXTs/видео.html I also have done an Easy Model review too and a couple of Sabre Dogs 😉. I do have one or two in my pile so there will be a couple more reviews coming in eventually!!
@@heavymetaldiecast thanks for the link. I bet I could sit and talk to you about aircraft for hours. Salute from a soldier.
@@Michael-o1l8c haha no doubt, I am a good listener so I've been told, haha. As I've always said I am no expert, I give a brief rundown in my video's of each subject. I try to research a little before hand too. I will get shit wrong and I am always happy to be correct and learn off others. There are plenty of people out there smarter than me!!! And I enjoy hearing/reading their comments!!
What are the rods sticking out of the front of the bombs
From what I have read they are fuse extenders. It allows the bomb to explode when that part hits the ground, not the actual bomb itself. Essentially allowing it to explode slightly above the ground. Thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍
@@heavymetaldiecast that’s what I figured they were
Too bad the fuselage is bare of decals, I would have preferred them to be there, still a nice model.
Yes you have to love a Phantom, even if it is missing a few details!! I guess if you really wanted to you could maybe ad them using decals to bring it up to a standard your happy with 🙂. Thanks again for taking the time to check out the video and for commenting, I appreciate it 🙂
