- When I saw this moment from the Sonic IDW comic issue #50, I just couldn't resist but to do my SatAM Dr. Robotnik voice in this whole scene. So here's another video of me doing my SatAM Robotnik voice!

I like the idea that Eggman's current voice is just a front he puts on, and when he's talking completely seriously, he just goes full SATAM. The idea that the hamminess is something he does on purpose feels... perfect for him, I feel.
He wants to conquer the universe but he also wants to have fun while doing it. So he isn't 100% serious most of the time.
Tbf, that actually is kind of true, look at Mike pollock in that one cutscene in sonic lost world.
@@BlueTyphoon2017and how he is in sonic frontiers
@@Avatarbeeconsidering his relationship with sonic i like that
There used to be a fan theory going around that Eggman is actually an older Snively.
When the writers want to remind the readers that Eggman is canonically a Power-type…
Eggman is a full-on blacksmith. If he doesn't have any machines to hand, he's got no problems doing things entirely by hand with his own sweat and blood...
Also Eggman can break his own robots with his fists so he's up there with Knuckles XD
he's also a speed type: as he also managed to outrun sonic in his second encounter. he's an exelent pilot too, but he cannot fly on his own. he requires tech for that. but if he is allowed tech, he is the true emodiment of speed, flying and power.

To me it showed Starline did most of his actions to himself had he not let his ego and approval of Eggman get the better of him and maybe showed Eggman some ideas other than the deadly six in keeping the Zombots undercontrol than maybe most of his actions could've been avoided
The spider toying with the fly caught in its web.
And the worst part is... normally Eggman and other villains claim victory before actually achieving it. But here... he claimed it and could boast about it all the way he wanted without "too soon" thing hitting him in return.
"Starline, what color is my heart?"
"I--don't see a heart, sir!"
_"Exactly!"_
Starline straight went "I did it i beat eggman" and eggman went
"a nice dream, but dreams are meant to be *rises from rubble* Broken."
His heart was three times too small
I think we can all appreciate the moments in this comic where Eggman realizes that these are 3ft tall animal people and he's a like almost 6ft human being, and thus he decides to Manhandle the animals!
The animals are _far_ stronger than him, though

bro went from eggman to Dr. Ivo Robotnik SO quick.
SatAM Robotnik works so well for this scene. His usual voice converys more anger, more goofy and light hearted.
This voice is perfect for scenes like these. Hes intimidating, rough, ready and raring to brawl, cold and calculated. He knows he has starline in a corner.
*He. Wins.*
Forget the corner, he knows he’s got starline in a CASKET
Sadly he wasn’t Dr. Julian Robotnik (his voice was)
Eggman walking out some rubble with that Winning Smile. And the SatAM voice is SO GOD DAMN THREATENING that it personally makes me wish eggman’s voice changed to that when he gets SERIOUS
That would be so strange but so awesome.
I'd love for them to do that, even have the glasses tilt showing the red eyes
@Thomas Harrington
In Archie even Modern Eggman canonically had those black and red eyes under his glasses, so I also like to imagine that’s what they look like if he takes them off.
Eggman Prime has returned..
Why did that remind me of how Kintobor became Robotnik? In both Sonic 1's promotional comic and Fleetway Sonic.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of these days IDW Eggman's glasses fall off during a battle with Sonic to reveal a pair black eyes with red pupils then drops the bombshell that Archie Eggman knew that his universe was coming to an end, hopped dimensions to the IDW universe and swapped places with who would have been IDW Eggman much like he did with SatAM Robotnik after he died.
Now that would be one hell of a plot twist
This !
Ayo can a homie get a link to the sauce for this?
We can pray my guy
As far as I know, Eggman's eyes ARE still red pinpricks under there. He shows it, once, while cursing Sonic like usual before saying something like "oh right, the stupid golden rodent. The chaos is constant" and readjusting his glasses to hide his temporary moment of insanity. I dunno if I'm getting Archie and IDW mixed up tho cuz I think it's in that transitional period where they were trying to rewrite the universe.
It's funny. You going for a Jim Cummings (SatAM) voice makes you sound like Deem Bristow (Sonic Adventure)... But he could be pretty menacing too.
I have made a few improvements since recording this video. I’m yet to show a better SatAM take, but I gotta think of a video to do the voice with. 🤔
@@Swordtee40 There's always classic Archie... Or Sonic 175.
@@Swordtee40 Oh I know, you can do your eggman voice to do a take on "Mayuri's Perfection" speech from Bleach.
@@PhilipAJones What is important when trying to do a Jim Cummings take is not just the pitch black malice that he emulates. On one hand it can come of as joy in the creepiest way while at the same time, it becomes a hatred so cold, hot and cruel it actually hurts him to expel.
What if in an alternate timeline, the Sonic games kept most of the Dreamcast-era English voice actors? And if Jim Cummings replaced Deem Bristow from 2005 onwards(due to the latter's passing of lung cancer)?
0:17 Congratulations! You out played yourself Starline!
You know that would be scary and awesome. To have peak Villainy moments where Eggman slips into the cold, calculating, ROBOTNIK voice. It would be an amazing.. "Oh.. S#*^" moment if it happened
YESSSSS
What I wouldn't give to hear Mike Pollock attempt a Jim Cummings impression.
Yesss
In the Sonic and Tails R radio drama there was something of an adaption of the satAM line, "in every game, there are winners and there are losers..." Where Mikes sounds suitably chilling.

This is Eggman at his most deadliest, he may look silly and have a funny name but he’s incredibly intelligent and has experience in hand to hand combat to go with that intelligence. I wonder who would win if Sonic and Eggman fought hand to hand.
Once eggman gets one of his giant hands on sonic (specifically his face) eggman soul more than likely be able to cause actual damage to sonic’s skull with a squeeze, eggman is incredibly physically strong due to him building all his robots himself
Reminder that the only reason Eggman keeps losing is that his rival is literally a hedgehog that defies every law of physics and reality every day
When I see this comic I always thought that Dr.Eggman is clearly capable physical fighting…honestly would love to see in the comics of his mech being destroyed and Eggman Dons the philosophy of “If you want it done right, do it yourself” and proceeds to beat down several of Sonic’s crew..No clue if in the IDW it’s still the Freedom Fighters or if that title also disappeared thanks to the copyright claims of a certain individual (Blasted Ken Penders)
Eggman might very well be hiding his real fighting abilities from Sonic and his friends as a sort of Ace in the hole. His "weakness" when faced with them mano a' mano could be a long-running elaborate charade.
the IDW continuity doesn't have the Freedom Fighters but there is a group called the resistance (from the game Sonic Forces) which later reorganized into the restoration which spends all of its time trying to repair all the damage the Eggman Empire left behind after they overthrew Eggman and stopping Eggman whenever he tries enacting a new scheme.
Sega still technically own the Freedom fighters and most of the associated characters, but they don't want to use them because Ken Penders would use it as an excuse to throw another tantrum and they don't want deal with that headache again.
I mean, Eggman does have super strength in the games as well, it just isn’t shown very often because he prefers showing off his genius through his inventions over his mere brawn. It’s usually just when he doesn’t have access to his machines like when he punched those ice cubes(?) in Lost World and threatened to strangle the Zeti for taking over his plan. He probably wouldn’t last in a one on one against most of Sonic’s friends since they’re even more super powered, but if he took them by surprise he may be able to knock someone out. Or maybe we can get a Super Robotnik like in AoStH, the second movie or certain fan games. That would be an opportunity to have him go full brawn.
@Rainpooper Yeah I don't see him being able to really fight Sonic's friends without his mechs. Even Amy who has been a bit mixed on if she has abilities or not could probably still be a lot for him to try to take on without his mechs.
Think at best, he could take on Tails reasonable smoothly without his robots but I don't think that he'd really have any reason to and Tails will mostly likely be in flight or in a mech himself. Think it's better to keep it as a tool to keep henchmen in line rather than something to have him match Sonic and friends. He can slam characters about but don't think that he should be lifting and throwing cars.
Even during punching the ice in Lost World, it took a few attempts and it did hurt his hand so I think that this is a good balance. Making him Knuckles strong would just be too far.
To be fair eggman can run faster than sonic, somehow....
(semi joke in the games he manages to outrun sonic after each boss fight)
"You had some nice dreams, Starline, but dreams are made to be... BROKEN."
We need this man to do a voiceover for this scene but with the adventures of sonic the hedgehog voice for Robotnik.
Why do I imagine hearing "Snooping as usual I see!"?
Good to see there's still some of that pre-Genesis Wave brutality in the... "good" Doctor.
Absolutely LOVE that you didn't even read the Starline lines, makes it feel like he's paralysed with fear in the face of Robotnik.
He does sound a bit like Deem Bristow (who voices Eggman in SA2)
Holy fuck I remember the Sonic SATAM series! All I can say is that you got his voice well, well played dude!
I honestly always read IDW Eggy with his Adventure - Heroes voice. Good balance between goofy and actual threat.
Sounds like a perfect mix of modern and satam
Seeing eggman deck a man in hand to hand combat is terrifying
As soon as he started reading the lines chills were sent down my spine
I know we are talking about that voice but can we take a second appreciate how legitimately terrifying eggman was rising from the wreckage of the mech. Completely pitch black with only his goggles and smile showing, the idea of how completely in control he was even after getting blasted out of the mech. The sheer brutality and mental massacre this scene provides is amazing, I really wish this was in a game.
It’s called a silhouette and you’re absolutely right
The sheer joy of that grin contrasted by the destruction of his mech really sells how in control he is.
The Spiral King Lordgenome from Gurren Lagann did it before him, only, _he_ actually got out of a ruined gunman (what that series called the mecha) and started throwing down with a guy who was _still piloting an operational one_ with _his bare hands!_
"I should've known not to trust a _gunman_ to _get the job DONE!"_ - The Spiral King, a pure, unadulterated _badass._
Starline: "I've destroyed your mech, Eggman, It's over!"
Eggman: "You're right, It Is over, you've just handed victory directly to me, just as I predicted."
SatAM robotnik is the darth vader of Robotniks
This is is more like Sonic Adventure 2 bettle Eggman
Awesome! Now I want to hear it in the Adventures Of Sonic the Hedgehog Robotnik voice!
Snooping as usual, Starline.
Honestly this!
"It just makes me tingle all over" It's so deliciously EVIL 😈
Robotnik in SatAm was basically whispering in the mic
Gotta love how Starline just got picked up and ragdolled like he was a big fat nothing
Wait, did Eggman just try to smash Starline, Yakuza style ?
Damn !
Yeah, apparently Eggman is just hella strong. Like if he REALLY wants a mf dead he’ll either whip out a G U N or just straight up curbstomp your ass!-(IDW Eggman will do this anyways. In some games he has been shown to have super strength but doubt we’ll see him throw hands sadly)
Dr Starline: King Dice
Dr Eggman: The Devil
There's a reason he's known as Eggman -SatAN- SatAM
Man Eggman when he put a deeper and voice, it really makes him much more intimidating. I don't think I want to mess with him.
Eggman look's really menacing....
Imagine this scene with snively and Eggman is saying all of this to him
SatAM Robotnik is the most menacing and imposing iteration of the character of all time.
Me who's literally grown up hearing Jim Cummings voice in most things:
"He took your friend, Kit. He took your dreams. Then, he took your life.
Dr. Starline, M.D.. Mad scientist.
He took it all."
hes is the eggman
He's got the master plan
Idk why but when I read SatAM, I saw it as The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog Robotnik XD
DAMN. That was extremely impressive. Excellent mimicry off Robotnik's tone and delivery.
Imagine they do something like this for the next Sonic Game (with the OG VA too [if he is still around]!). Where Someone tries double crossing Eggman or Something similar and out of the Rubble of the nearly succesful attempt, He Gets out (with the VA Switching) And Eggman just DESTROYING the Double crosser and the person calls them Doctor Eggman, Only for him to Correct them "Only The Hedgehog and his Little Friends may call me that, To You and everyone else" (maybe robotic arms grab the person or he has badnik weapons aimed at em) "I am Doctor Ivo Robotnik"
Whoa! That was fantastic! :D
What I love about this moment is that the whole reason Starline turned against Eggman was because during the Metal Virus saga, Eggman didn't plan ahead and let things spiral out of control, so Starline tried to dethrone Eggman to both prove that he is Eggman's superior replacement and to prove that he was right. But in this moment here, Eggman shows that he does have foresight and prepared against him because he has experience dealing with traitors. The only reason the metal virus got out of hand was because it was something completely different.
I must say; your impression was well done! You excecuted the ebbs and flows of the more sadistic Robotnik well...to the point that it was both very fitting, and pleasantly disconcerting to see this from the "Eggman" form.
I remember sonic satam. It sucks that it ended too soon. If it kept going the next main villain was going to be snively.
And I had the feeling that Snively was going to be WORSE than Robotnik!
Most definitely. With all the pentup anger and hatred.
Bro, fantastic dub. A++ on the voice acting. You definitely did these panels justice. 👍
Great job. its kinda weird because you sound more Sa1 Dean Bristow with the speak patterns of SatAM. Nothing wrong with that, still love it.
Now we just need to someone to voice it in the "The adventures of sonic the hedgehog" robotniks voice.
I haven't seen eggman this menacing ...i thnk since i'm a sonic fan. It was amazing.
We need a sonic game with a robotnik voice like that!
Can you imagine Eggman, when REALLY ticked… switching to his SATAM voice in the games? I think Mike Pollock is too good as Eggman to replace… but what I wouldn’t give to hear Pollock do his take on a SATAM voice like you did… this scene was BONE CHILLING with the lower voice and SATAM Robotnik theme song. Reminded me very quickly that despite me beating him as Sonic in the games time and time again… when Eggman is inspired, the man is a legitimate threat to the universe!
This is another one of those reasons Eggman is my favorite videogame villain.
Brilliant…goddamn BRILLIANT
Eggman hits his enemies the hardest way possible when they least expect it.
I said multiple times, i like Pollock version because he make a funny Eggman... but it lacks of that seriousness Jim C and Deem Bristow give it to him as Robotnik/Eggman.
I always said, the SA2 Eggman was the closest we had to a very accurate portrait of the 300iq genius. And this moment reflect that perfectly.
Yeah I have to agree with you hands down Jim Cummings did an amazing job and to say he structured the voice of robotnic is an understatement.
Really well done by the way
This is a great portrayal of Dr. Robotnik. Well done on the voice.
I miss the SatAm Eggman. Jim Cummings had such a sinister voice for the character. It was always the voice i pictured when i used to read the comics.
Jim Cummings’ performance as SatAM Dr. Robotnik was MAGNIFICENT. Wonderful impression!
Not bad! It's a bit on the Deem Bristow side...but that's fine. It's still very close! I think all it'd really need is that echoing filter that made Dr. Robotnik feel big, dangerous, and intimidating. The way his voice sort of filled the room.
*_PERFECTION_*
If Julian robotnik saw the events of the metal virus arc, he'd be proud of his counterpart. Eggman was right up there with his satam counterpart during that arc.
OH MY LORD THIS IS SO GOOD NICE MAN
Oh my god
That’s really scary and terrific
You did amazing, Jim Cummings would be proud! although it would be interesting to hear Jim Cummings read that line
If Eggman hindered sonic's speed, he could probably MANHANDLE HIM
I like to think that Eggman is the snarky comedic side of him, but once he goes full on dark, threatening, cold-hearted, and calculating, that's when he becomes Dr. Ivo Robotnik.
I love that it still has some eggman voice in there.
I need this to be combined with a dub of starline
All we need is the sneivly scream and we’re golden
We need more of this Eggman.
EggMan is a fucken badass in the comics
Holy crud! I don't know how else to respond this! EGGMAN can actually FIGHT!!! And it's EPIC!!!
I imagine the only reason why Eggman never tries to fight Sonic hand to hand is because he knows he’s not fast enough to handle Sonic’s reaction times. I’d also imagine that Eggman can more than handle any normal opponents in a fist fight… it makes sense he would prepare for the possibility of a more personal battle.
@@trevinodude I guess that's true. It would actually be pretty silly for a villain who regularly battles heroes with literal super powers to not even try learning a bit of hand-to-hand combat in case he couldn't rely on his tech, now that I really think about it. Still, even with that in mind, I can't help but be surprised to actually see it happen. Just one of those things where, even when you should expect it, it's still shocking to actually see happen.
@@Midnight3Wonder Agreed
The fact that it actually sounds kinda like Mike Pollock doing a Jim Cummings impression makes it even better.
Ooooh, Eggman did something bad to Starline. Gave him what he deserved.
"What color is my heart?"
"I don't see one, sir..."
"Exactly."
That's good...That's very good indeed~
Was anyone else scared of satam robotnick as a kid?
This moment in the comics really shows the physical and psychological strength of Eggman. Terrifying yet fascinating. I think, Eggman can be rival for Dart Sidious from Star Wars.
Dr. Starline got Snively Robotniked.
how do people forgot how HUGE eggman is compared to the animals, HE'S A HUMAN
Honestly, I think this sounds more like Deems Bristow than Jim Cummings. Not that I’m complaining, Deems was one of the best serious Eggman voices.
First of all this sounds amazing
And second
This scene is a great reminder that Eggman loses all the time because he is fighting an overpowered speedster who defeated literal gods
I forgot how menacing the old voice actor for Robotnik could be and this panel kills it with this voice. 👏
you fucking crushed it, literally had goosebumps. *clapping*
Looks like Starline will be using a Samsung tablet to make phonecalls for the rest of his life.
To pull off the SatAm voice, you need the echo effect. In almost every scene, Robotnik's voice reverberated off of the walls.
as a non sonic fan this is dope and very funi to watch eggmen just bonk his lessers-
This sounds more like a fusion between Jim Cummings and Mike Palok
Nicely done with the voice acting, you indeed carry the spirit of the satam robotnik no doubt about that.
you sound more like the robotnik in sonic adventure than satam with a mark hammel spin on it still good
I guess you could say he was *snooping as usual*
When you turn Starline into Snivley
I mean... damn.
You nailed this voice!!!
Now I'm wondering what'd happen if Starline met Satam Robotnik.
Crap himself.
honestly, SATAM Robotnik on paper would probably be his ideal version of Eggman.
however he probably wouldn't have inspired Starline into supervillainy in the first place because it wasn't Eggman's genius that fascinated Starline so much, it was Eggman's pageantry and passion, two things that Robotnik is sorely lacking in, he lacks Eggman's excentricities and because of that Starline would probably remain a simple civilian content with studying the Warp Topaz and trying to not get Roboticized.
@@anthonyrodriguez8788I agree. If anything, I think Archie Eggman might have been a more inspiring figure for Starline than SATAM. Eggman had that classic showmanship that Starline was drawn to… but he could (pre reboot) be just as cold and sadistic as Robotnik ever could. Honestly… even if Starline WAS somehow inspired to villainy from SATAM Robotnik, I doubt ol’ Robuttnik would ally with Starline as long as IDW Eggman did. He already didn’t value Snively… he’d have roboticized Starline as soon as he felt Starline was becoming a threat.
Starline really was the Snively to Eggman’s Robotnik- *Wait…*
SatAM Robotnik has the best voice and is the best version of the character.
His eyes could still be black voids with red pupils
